short sweet, read in an hour

This little story, the first book in the Whiskey River series, was a sweet, quick read. Though short for a first book introducing a series, it was charming. Sometimes serious and others light hearted and just right for a change of pace. Enjoyed the romance that developed between the main characters, Ryder and Addison. Looking forward to reading about the brothers that the authors introduced at the reading of their father's will. Two legitimate sons who meet their illegitimate twin brothers for the first time and that neither set knew existed. This series looks to be promising.

I enjoyed this novella it was a quick read and I really liked Ryder, "irked, he kissed her. When she would have spoken he kissed her again. “Honey, if you’re trying to frustrate me you’re doing a good job of it." I found it funny when he got mad it was so sexy, "Ryder ground his teeth. “You didn’t hurt my feelings. You pi**ed me off royally."

A short introduction into a new series about two sets of brothers who did not know about each other.

Ryder and Allison's romance was well-done in the limited number of pages. The story made me eager for the other books in the series..

Two of my favorite authors came together to create a series that I will be following until the very end. With Where There's a Will each author gives their best. The finished product ends up being a heartwarming story that is fun, emotional and romantic. Received this book for an honest review.

Short and sweet introduction the the new Whiskey River series. The story was very sweet and engaging with likeable main characters in Ryder and Addison. Unsurprisingly given it's short length there wasn't much depth to the story, but none the less it was an entertaining read and gave a brief glimpse of some of the characters from the new series.

This is a darling little prequel for the Whiskey River Series. Although it moved very quickly because it was so short, it felt very believable. (If I knew for sure going to law school while working for a lawyer that looked like the one on the cover would net both a job and husband, I might have given it a whirl!) I look forward to the next book in the series, although I might need a scorecard to keep the names correct.

A quick fun read that introduces us to some of the good folks of Whiskey River. In this novella we get the story of Ryder Ford, sexy lawyer established in Whiskey River and his assistant Addison Wells. While they have both been lusting after each other, Addison hasn't let anything get started since she has plans to leave Whiskey River in her rear view mirror. Until one stormy day when they find themselves locked in a shelter....

I really enjoyed this short read featuring Addision, a legal secretary and her boss, Ryder. But be forewarned it is very short but everything is tied up by the end. This story starts on a stormy night with some tornando warnings and Addison and Ryder are working late. They then decide to head to the office shelter where Ryder manages to break down some of Addisons walls. They had shared a kiss at the xmas party and Ryder wants to get to know Addison and doesn't want to get involved.

It was a short but very sweet story.

A cheerful story, a perfect mix of laughter and romance.
Ryder and Addison's attraction to each other is hot, so hot that other around have noticed it. I loved the way the other lawyers were accepting their feelings for each other.
There's a lot of banter in the storm shelter, while Addison and Ryder hide from the tropical storm. But they also share some of their family history, and stories from their childhood. Ryder's protectiveness is adorable. The honesty he demands and shares with Addison is admirable, he doesn't let her hide behind her fears and concerns.
Their first date is just swoon worthy! A lovely prologue to the new series, that I will be looking forward to!

Super quick read, like about an hour. Story line was pretty good, but I assume it will be a series? If not, I'm not really sure what all the stuff about the will had to do with, honestly that was more intriguing than the story I read. It was pretty straight forward and quick.

Ryder Ford is an attorney and Addison Wells is working part time as his legal secretary whilst actually studying to become a lawyer herself. They had given into the mutual attraction at the Christmas party - only sharing a kiss under the mistletoe - but that was, for both of them, an unforgettable experience. Three months later they’ve never repeated it but both are still tempted! When a tornado warning is given they are the only ones in the office and go in the closet shelter. Addison is planning to move to another town once she is qualified so is trying to protect herself by not giving in to her attraction to Ryder. Will they be able to continue to resist temptation? If you read it, you’ll also learn about Boots Kelly and his will!

This is a delightful, very short (about 40 minutes) read and a great prequel novella and I look forward to reading more in this series in future! A heart warming story with no real angst - a fun, romantic start to a new series!

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you're after sexy, sultry, sweet and short then this book will hit the spot nicely for you. Prequel to a new Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy series set in Texas, Where There's A Will is the story of lawyer Ryder Ford and legal secretary Addison Wells, who have been in love for months, though neither has been aware that that was what they were feeling for each other, and apart from a kiss at the Christmas party, neither has acted on their feelings until they find themselves trapped in a storm cupboard during a tornado.
The short length means there is very little space for story development or to flesh out the characters a bit more which was a down side for me, but overall I enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to the other four.

Where There’s a Will is the prequel novella by authors Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy and sets the stage for the rest of the Whiskey River series, which I shall assume is about the sons of Boots Kelly, Trey and Wyatt Kelly and Nicholas and Xander Blue (but, of course, I could be wrong). This was very short but sweet novella and this was a love story about two people who were already developing feelings for one another early on but never acted upon them until the Christmas party and again while the tornado hit.

Addison was a strong female lead character, one who had a difficult childhood and wanted to secure a much better future for herself as a lawyer. Ryder was a male lead character who believed in being open and honest and who definitely went after what he wanted once he set his mind to it. Their story was fun to read and showed that even the best laid plans can be changed when the right motivation comes along. Where There’s a Will has made me curious about the series and I look forward to reading it. Four stars! ♥

I received an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was a novella to introduce The Whiskey River Texas Hill Country series. Loved this sweet fun heartwarming read. Ryder Ford has been thinking about kissing his law student assistant Addison Wells since she kissed him under the mistletoe at the Christmas party. The heat between them has them both thinking about a repeat performance. But Addison Wells is in her last semester of law school and after she passes the bar she has planned to move on to a new job in a different town, so when an unexpected storm is headed their way and they have to seek shelter together Ryder and Addison decide to take full advantage of this alone time. But what happens after Addison goes for her interview? Will Ryder and Allison find their HEA? Loved the flirty banter and the sweet heartwarming fun in this story. Can't wait to read more.

Where There’s A Will is a short, fast, sexy and entertaining prequel to the new series Whiskey River. Ryder Ford is an established attorney, one who will soon have to gather four brothers together for the reading of a will that he really doesn’t want to do. Addison Wells is Ryder’s secretary, a law student herself who will soon leave Whiskey River in the dust as she heads out of town for her own career as a lawyer.

The problem for both of them is their shared and ignored attraction to each other. One kiss was enough to convince each that they should stay far away from the other. One kiss that neither could forget and would very much like to repeat.

When storm sirens sound Ryder and Addison take shelter together – and then the fun really starts.

Since this story is short and a prequel, I don’t want to chance spoiling any of it for you. So I’ll stop here.

I love to start new series, and the first novel or novella in a new series usually sets the tone for the coming books. I often decided whether I’ll continue a series based on the first one, how well it pulls me in to wanting to know more. Sadly, not every first book does that. With Where There’s A Will, I (and you) got lucky because this is a story that draws you in enough to want to know more about this town and the people who live there.

I enjoyed Ryder and Addison’s story. They are a couple who belong together, but each one is fighting the attraction for their own reasons. I finished this novella in about an hour, so it doesn’t take up much time – but it does deliver a very good story and a strong start to the Whisky River series.

I recommend this one for those that love struggling lovers, a bit of a mystery and the fun of simply falling in love. Pick this one up, I believe you’ll find yourself a new series to follow.

*I received an e-ARC of Where There’s A Will from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

~What you, the reader, always must remember is this simple truth. Any review is just one person’s opinion. You might feel the same or totally different. The only way to know for certain if any novel is right for you – is for you to read it. This was my opinion of this particular book.~

Despite it's rather slow start, this series is going to be great. This book lays the groundwork for a new series based on 2 sets of brothers finding out they are ALL brothers. Fun! In this book, Ryder, cousin to the brothers, ends up in a storm shelter with his assistant and crush Addison. Addison wants to have a successful life of her own after growing up on the wrong side of the tracks. For her, love does not enter into the equation. But even she can't deny her attraction to her super hot, wonderful boss. I really did like this book, even though it did take a bit to get into it. I am really looking forward to the rest of this series.

This is a great quick read as an introduction to Whiskey River and the Kelly family. I definitely enjoyed it.

Ryder Ford was the Kelly family lawyer and with that job came a lot of family secrets. Including one that that would mean a lot of questions he would not have the answers for when four men found out they were related.

Addison Wells was Ryder's legal secretary, working for the firm for years, which she loved to do. But she had her own dreams and they included leaving Whiskey River and becoming a lawyer herself. So having a romantic relationship with her boss was not part of them.

So when a major storm threw the two of them together in a cramped space and the sparks flew between them, the questions then became if it was possible for the two to finally admit they cared about each other and stop her from leaving it all? After all everyone else knew it, some had even bet on it.

Where it normally takes me one sitting reading a book of this length, it took me an unusually long time finishing It. The plot has a real good potential, the writing is good, however, Ryder Ford and Addison Wells's constant back and forth, push and pull, they should or they shouldn't get involve, took away what could have been a simmering hot romance read. There were times where I get frustrated that I put it down then pick it back up later, this happened many times that I thought I'll never get to finish it. And when I did, i was so amazed that I liked it. I started thinking what just happened! Wow, what an entertaining story this turned out to be and I'm glad I read it.

Book Review: Where There's a Will by Katherine Garbera & Eve Gaddy

More of a short story and a prequel to the Whiskey River Series, “Where There's a Will” features two well-developed characters, Ryder Ford and Addison Wells, lawyer and legal secretary, respectively who are handling the Kelly Brothers inheritance, the basis of the series.

As I mentioned, this is a short story and the description below gives readers an idea how the story goes. If I add anything, it will be a spoiler.

But, I want to point out that having two well-developed character in a short story is a feat for any writer. That Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy were able incorporate romance and some steamy scenes in a seamless storyline show a mastery of their craft.

“Where There's a Will” might be short and sweet but it is well worth it to put it in your summer reading list.

“Where There's a Will” is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content.

A fast paced sexy story, that will leave you wanting more from Whiskey River. This is a prequel to the new series. This focuses on attorney, Ryder that is reading the will for the Kelly family. Addison is Ryder's assistant. They have had feelings for each other, but never acted upon, until they both ended up in the tornado shelter together.

I highly recommend this book and looking forward to the rest of the series. I received this book from netgalley for an honest review. I loved it so much that I bought my own copy.

This book is book one in a new series by some very talented authors. In this introductory book to the series, we meet Ryder Ford, a hot sexy Texan and lawyer, and the one who is the executor to his uncle's will which will bring some fireworks to future books. We also meet his secretary who is in the process of finishing up law school to become a lawyer herself, Addison Wells. Addison and Ryder share a sizzling chemistry but try to deny it.

When Ryder and Addison have to share a cramped space in a closet that also doubles as tornado shelter, things start to heat up and secrets are unveiled. Will Ryder and Addison manage to over come their differences? You will have to read this lovely short novella to find out.

This is a short steamy novella perfect for reading on a long lazy summer afternoon or while enjoying a summer evening. Turn off the television and pour yourself something cold to sip while you read this novella.

Where There's a Will by Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy is one sensational romance that readers won't forget. A hot and sexy attorney Ryder Ford is the the type of man who knows what he wants and goes after it and what he wants is his hot secretary Addison Wells who has a no office romance rule that she is sticking with that is unless fate intervenes causing them both to be stranded alone together. Addison is wanting to be a lawyer and is moving away soon, unless Ryder Ford can convince the one woman who makes him hotter than the desert sun, to stay. Can their brief romance lead into the promises of much more?

Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy have done a fabulous and superb job of creating to irresistible characters who compliment each other. I could not put down the novel. Addictive, sweet, and steamy story that readers will fall in love with and never want to stop reading. I loved how one hot masculine man can get under tough Addison Wells exterior that she has built up with all the bravo she could. Undoing that wall of hers is a heart melting effect that will captivate readers everywhere. I loved reading this new book by these two amazing writers. Their talents combined make one powerful and potent read that will continue to hook readers. Overall, I rate Where There's a Will a five out of five stars and highly recommend to reader all over to read it.

Copy courtesy of Netgalley This is a very short story. It is A prequel to what looks like a good series to come,
Ryder is the family lawyer and Addison is the legal assistant for his firm. They have been attracted to each other for years. A kiss under the mistletoe during Christmas was the first time the attraction was acknowledged. Months past and then they are locked in a closet waiting out a tornado warning. Things heat up pretty fast. They go from business associates to lovers in the blink of an eye. The best thing about this book is the intro to the characters for the coming series. Things look interesting.

Ryder, successful attorney and partner in his firm, will soon have the unenviable task of delivering some unhappy news to some of his relatives at the reading of a will. While his assistant, Addison, was to be scheduling the meeting, ugly storm clouds approached, announcing a terrible storm was imminent. Alone in the office with Addison, Ryder decided it would be best for them to take shelter in the storm closet they had prepared for just such an occasion. While the storm raged outside, a storm of a different nature began inside when Addison and Ryder finally gave in to the attraction that had simmered between them from their first meeting.

While Addison is finishing her own law degree, she begins seeking employment in the big cities, certain she is not meant to stay in her small hometown forever. Having had a taste of Addison in his life, Ryder is determined to keep her by his side and living right there in Whiskey River. When Addison returns from an out-of-town interview with a solid job offer in hand, it looks like Ryder’s time with Addison may come to a quick end.

This is a quick and easy read. I was surprised at the speed at which everything came together and was settled, but it is a novella, so to be expected, I guess. It was light-hearted without significant drama to cause the reader much angst, but was still an enjoyable read.

Thank you to the author and publisher for an ARC, from which this review is based, in exchange for an honest review.

Where There's a Will is the first book in the Whiskey River series and it's a short novella that is a prequel to the series.

Attorney Ryder Ford kissed his secretary Addison Wells under the mistletoe and they both are trying to forget the kiss and move on- Addison is focused on her studies and becoming a lawyer herself and she plans to leave Whiskey River behind in order to find a job as a lawyer.

A tornado traps Ryder and Addison together in the storm shelter and being together in such close proximity makes it harder for them to fight the string attraction and chemistry between them and they end up having sex and now Ryder is willing to do anything in his power to make Addison stay in Whiskey River but it's not going to be easy since Addison isn't looking for love and her career is a first priority.

Where There's a Will is a fast paced short novella that i enjoyed reading- it was sexy, emotional and fun to read.

I'm looking forward to reading more books in the series

The novella is good, real good even. The MC are pretty well formed for a novella of this length, you get to feel for them and their backgrounds. So, why just 3 stars then? Because this book is like going to the pool, dipping your toes in, discovering the water is so nice and, bam, you're told that's all you get. What?!? It's already over? *sad face* The problem is that this novella is really short, in term of length of the book and of time frame in the story. Let's say I remained a tad unsatisfied. However, I'm still looking forward to the Whiskey River series.

If you are looking for a quick easy going love story that you can read it in one sitting this prequel is just for you. The story is enjoyable characters interesting enough that you want to read next one in the series.
Ryder a sexy layer has feelings for his assistant Addison ever since a kiss they shared on Christmas. They attraction explodes when they are hiding in the storage because of tornado. Ryder realize that what he feels for Addison is not just a fling and decides he will do everything to make her his. Addison has doubt because she wants to get away from her old life and be a successful without relying on men.
I loved both main characters. Ryder for being determinate and not let the women of his dream to walk away. And Addison to fight away from her old life and for realization that the safe place and stability can be better if you have someone who support you and love you.
The story is easy to follow but don’t expect some deeper point behind it just enjoy it. The love scenes are hot and sizzling.
Highly recommended.

This was a cute quick read about a girl who has set her self up to be a specific thing in life an not let's love or a man throw her off tract and a man who is hiding his feelings for someone he cares about. The heat and attraction is there' but can they get out of their own ways and let love in?

A very short (57 pages) prequel to the new Whiskey River series. While the purpose of the prequel is to set up the, I'm guessing, 4 books to follow, the authors threw in a little bit of romance just to prime the pump. The H / h are both very interesting characters. I'm not sure they didn't deserve their own full length novel. Just saying. ...

Where There's a Will (Whiskey River Series Book 1) by Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy is a just plain old fun. I will be the first to admit that Katherine Garbera‘s writing is sometimes a miss for me but this story of Ryder and Addison is a hit. I haven’t read much by Eve Gaddy, I want to read more by her based on this lead-in to the Whiskey River Series. Since it seems to be setting up the storyline for the series to come on the Kelly brothers, I was pleased that it is an engaging novella on its own. Yes, it makes you want to read what happens when those four brothers get together.

Like most stories of this length the characters are not as developed as they would be in a longer work. However, Ryder and Addison have a working relationship before the story starts so that helped to make their HEA believable. The story moves as a quick pace but still the author gives us quite a bit of Addison’s background. Ryder is still a mystery except for being a cousin to the Kelly. Still a great introduction to the series.

Net Galley provided a copy.

Great start to the Whiskey River Series. This is a short intro where we get to meet Ryder Ford, cousin and attorney for the Kelly Clan and his secretary Addison Wells. They have feelings for each other but don't do anything about it until a tornado warning causes them to get into close quarters and they have to deal with them.
We get to meet the four brothers in who don't know about each other until the will of their father is read.
I look forward to reading more in this series.

A very short, quick read to begin the Whiskey River series. Attorney Ryder Ford can't forget the kiss he shared under the mistletoe with his secretary Addison Wells. Addison, however, is on the verge of earning her own law degree and leaving Whiskey River for good, no matter how attractive her boss is. One afternoon in the storage closet/storm shelter waiting out a tornado brings the chemistry to a boiling point. Can Ryder convince Addison to stick around for the long term?
A prequel novella, it is an introduction to Ryder and his firm, as well. While Ryder is convincing Addison that he is interested in a long-term relationship, he is also preparing to turn the lives of four brothers upside down when he reads their father's Will.
I enjoyed this introduction to the series and look forward to the rest of the series.

Definitely one hot story! I have a weakness for office romances, but after being burned too many times, I wasn’t expecting much from this novel. Addison was a stronger female lead who made Ryder work for it. It was endearing to watch him fight for her. The story is actually pretty short, but lacking in nothing. While it was quick read, I found myself content with the story as a whole once I completed it.

This was a really short read that follows two people who have been skirting around each other finally coming together after circumstances force them together.

Ryder Ford has had his eyes on his secretary Addison Wells for a while now, unfortunately for him all Addison has eyes for is her education; so close to becoming a lawyer, Addison doesn't want any distractions.

After a tornado brings them into really close quarters they give into their attraction and from there Ryder decides he will do what it takes to keep Addison with him; even if he has to drive all the way to Austin to see her.

It was a nice relaxing story for a lazy Sunday afternoon; you grab your reader and some wine and relax with a nice story and good characters. I will say that the mini side story of the case Ryder was working on was super dramatic and definitely should get its own book.

Rating 4 out of 5 Read@Book

A good premise to the beginning of the series. I like the storyline of the 4 brothers, and look forward to reading their books to come. This novella sets up the base, but I wish it would have focused more on the family dynamics and a bit more on the background of each. Instead the main focus is on the family lawyer and is PA, who are sitting in a closet waiting out a tornado warning. They were fairly intersting too, but seemed a little one dimensional at times. Would still recommend, and do look forward to the rest of the series.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley/Tule Publishing for an honest review. "Where There's A Will" by Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy was a sweet and cute romance. This novella is a great way to introduce the Whiskey River series. Ryder and Addison have worked together for long time. They have been attracted to each from the beginning. So far they have fought this attraction except for the kiss under the mistletoe at Christmas. Will they be able to fight this attraction when they end up in a storm shelter during a tornado? I really enjoyed this quick read. Four brothers were introduced in this story and I hope their stories will be part of this series.
