Description

He’s Shirtless …with Kids

A fake fiancé. A fireman with abs. Two small negotiators. And one very flustered neighbor.

Alexa Stone didn’t move to Harts Grove to fall for the shirtless firefighter next door—or his charming chaos of a life. But after a viral run-in with an influencer, a neighborhood emergency, and one unforgettable Angel Flight, she’s pulled into Noah Townsend’s orbit in ways she never saw coming.

Noah’s a widowed single dad, former Marine pilot, and reluctant face of the town’s hottest new club. The last thing he wants is attention—especially from matchmaking moms or thirsty DMs. A fake engagement with his poised new neighbor seems like the perfect solution.

She gets instant community cred. He gets left alone. But what neither of them planned on was how good it would feel to fit—into each other’s lives, hearts, and maybe even forever.

  • Grumpy single dad meets secret billionaire
  •  Laugh-out-loud banter, bedtime stories, and a well-timed vision board
  •  Found family, healing after loss, and a love worth the risk

Perfect for fans of Katherine Center, Abby Jimenez, or Nora Ephron-style charm—where laughter meets love, and healing hides in unexpected places.

A Note From the Publisher

Author Note & Review Resources
Thank you for previewing He’s Shirtless …with Kids. This isn’t just a romance with fireman abs and bedtime negotiations (though we have those, too). It’s a story about what happens when two adults with very good reasons to say never—never love again, never raise a family, never fall for the neighbor—say yes anyway.
Alexa thought she’d chosen her career over connection. Noah buried his shot at forever with the woman he lost. But as it turns out, “never” is just “not yet” in disguise—especially when two small negotiators and a tomato garden get involved.
I wrote this book as a reminder that romance can be smart, funny, emotionally grounded, and full of prosperity—not just in the bank, but in the heart. This is a feel-good, grown-up love story with characters who show us how healthy relationships really work—through choice, laughter, healing, and unexpected grace.

i mean this book had me with the tomato. trust me im having my own love hate relationship with those blooming things right now. GO RED dammit. but it did make me smile haha.
this book felt like the author was somehow writing for us as well. there was so much gentle kindness to it that i felt it was like infiltrating my sore spots. it was no easy ride for our pair. but with grace, love, work and seeing the other and just plonking yourself there as safety, finally safety then it worked. better than works. its love. and for two people that didn't, could think that would happen. and Sable wrote it beautifully. her words like a flowing waterfall into all my hardened chambers.
this book of course has the banter and back and forth we all love. but its somehow so much deeper too. its tender, gentle and just full of love.
Noah is a single dad whos just doing his best. hes got his kids and thats all that matter to him. hes a firefighter by day but dad at all times. love cant come near him anymore, not that kind, he wont let it. he cant let it. you root for Noah from the very first time hes described to you on the pages. green flag for sure.
Alexa is whip smart in mind and talk, lol. and we love her for it. shes also got her walls built for protection. but when she steps into this small town community its all changing.
what starts off with a mutual arrangement might be blooming into something of mutual loving.
the two and their chemistry were just delicious. snappy, sizzly and gives you the feels kind of thing. but the other moments of them together aside from that was what struck me. there was so much grace there for both of them and from both of them. and its the normal moments they spend together that truly hugged my heart. these two were falling in love.
of course when you have two kids central to a plot like our pair then blimey they need to work. and hahaha im so glad to say they did. they weren't straight forward but they were richly portrayed and described to the point i had a really good feel for who they were. and they had me cackling a fair few times and hurting for them a fair few times too.
love doesn't need to flip your life, change your dreams or halt a life you wish or thought for. it can make those things seemliness become something more, something bigger and something you want to make happen alongside someone else. it come can with work, compromise but when people love you and make you feel like all your strength feels turbo'd and all your tough times feel less impossible.
this book had my whole heart. im so glad i got to read it.
i do think we need to see some of this emotional content more often. so often i think men(sorry but true) or somehow some greek myth kind of man and praised to the hilt when found in books or film etc. we applaud them so much for being....nice? and then if somehow a dream, wish, or fantasy maybe even mocked or certainly seen as not true. well, why not? why isn't it true? sooo much work needs to be done when good guys are needing so much praise for making people feel better for finding them within books!
