"Mountain Time is a true love letter to the rodeo and ranching lifestyle. A love letter that is full of authenticity and a swoon-worthy romance with a dose of grit. The masterful way in which both lifestyles and terms blended without removing the reader from the plot was refreshing. I feel like it's such a needed voice in the romance space and is the optimity of cowboy romance! Bravo you two!" - Alyssa D.
"This does not read like a debut novel. This is a perfect mix of what I want the pacing to be like in a romance book. The actual bull riding scenes are so technical and descriptive and quite possibly my favorite scenes in the book. This is the stuff we don't see in normal cowboy romances and absolutely sets you apart from the rest. The glimpse you give the reader of the nitty gritty of rodeo life is a breath of fresh air, instead of focusing on the ‘glitz & glam’ like some do." Jaclyn C.
"I loved it! It was funny, emotional, and hopeful. I loved that both of them were emotionally mature enough to talk out their worries. It was very informative as someone who knows nothing about bull riding but from what I’ve read in books. And I loved that you actually got so much of the bull riding and the ranching in the book. You two did fantastic, I’m so excited for more books in the series." - Randi P.
"The plot pulls you in so quickly, and the rodeo action feels so real - you can absolutely tell it is written by people who know the rodeo life well. I laughed out loud so many times reading this and then actively sobbed my way through several chapters - these characters really seep under your skin! As someone who hasn’t read a lot of cowboy romance but generally enjoys the genre, I absolutely cannot wait to read more of this series!" - Kitty K.

Its giving bull rider x guarded heart
If you're a fan of cowboys and small town second chance romance then this one is definitely for you!
It's a beautiful and heartbreaking short story between Kacey and Knox set over the summer months. I would have liked it to be a bit longer to get more of the story but overall enjoyed this 1st book of the series. Love the front cover graphics too!

This was a strong start to the Diamond Hart Ranch series, it had that romance element that I was looking for and was engaged with what was happening. I enjoyed this as a opening chapter. The characters had that overall feel that I was wanting and enjoyed the concept. India Reiste & Trevor Reistewrote this well and was engaged from the first page.

I’m new to reviewing books but im not new to what a good book is and this one is fantastic!! 5 stars for India and Trevor! I picked this book up and couldn’t put it down til I finished it. It pulls you and takes you on the wild ride of Kacey and Knox and I can’t wait to read more from them! They stayed true to the facts with ranching and rodeo lifestyle which is such a refreshing change of pace in a cowboy romance! I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to get lost in their hot cowboy dreams!

I could not put this down.
It has been a minute since I've finished a novel, that wasn't a short story, in just two days. At first the beginning of the novel gave me a little bit (just a tiny bit) of a struggle but after a I kept going, I was hooked and couldn't put down the book. Even when I was laying down for bed.
In this novel, I like that things in the PBR world are explained that may need a little bit of an explanation, and you aren't questioning what does this mean. Or have to look it up to understand what the authors are trying to say. The relationship that Kacey and Knox have is a nice healthy relationship. I liked that he was not pushy/forcing Kacey to do things she either wasn't ready to do or make her do something she probably didn't want to do.
Knox really is a chivalrous man. I knew that from the first time he took Kacey home. 🤭
The minor characters in this novel, Gran especially, were hilarious. I feel like you can see hints towards who the next books will be as you read just by how they interact with the other characters.

Holy smokes. Where do I even begin?? I LOVED every second of this book. The writing was so amazing that I found it hard to put down! I truly didn’t want Knox and Kacey’s story to end. I love that the authors wrote about what they know, because I truly feel like I learned so much about ranching and rodeos. I read so many things that I haven’t before in other cowboy romance books. It made it feel like I was right there in all the action. The way all r he characters were written made it so easy to fall in love with them.
Kacey isn’t very trusting of Knox at first (same girl same), but he stays patient with her. He’s got a “no-girlfriend” rule that he quite literally throws out the window when he meets her. I highlighted so many things Knox said to Kacey in those first several chapters because I literally could not stop squealing. I also screamed when I realized Trey and Jessie’s book is next.
In case I haven’t convinced you to read this book yet… Knox is a hot bull rider with a dirty mouth. What more could you ask for?

i LOVED this! i could probably find something about this book i didn’t like, but why would i? this book was everything i wanted and more. it was something every southern girl needs to read.
i grew up around horses and i went through a “studying” them phase where i knew everything about them, the accuracy was unmatched. every other “cowboy” book ive ever read either skirts around the facts and descriptions or get them all wrong, but this one was so factually accurate i was squealing when i read something like that.
and OMG the bull riding povs, i was hooked from the first one! i felt like i was really on the bull with Knox and it felt like i was there riding with him. seriously the writing style was 👩🍳💋 i was devouring it.
let’s not even get started on the emotional rollercoaster the last 20% took me on , you’ll have to read that one yourselves 😅

Slow burn but it was so good.
Just the right amount of spice.
Authors who understand the dynamics of their characters roles or occupations is plus when trying to get into the vibe of the story.
The story itself was solid and that was appreciated. The detail into describing each bull ride added a touch to understand how the FMC felt.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a married author duo but this one exceeded any expectations or reservations I might have had.

I look forward to the next book in this series.

Now I live for a cowboy romance and I've never read one that gives you the real insight to ranching & rodeoing and I loved this element to the book.
I absolutely loved reading Kacey and Knox relationship growth, I did feel like it was a tiny bit of instant love, I just love a man who needs grovels and there's a bit of tension build up but I was still enjoying the story nonetheless.
Super excited to continue the story with the next book as I will be 100% reading it.

This book was an easy five-star read for me. Did I binge the last 80% in one sitting? Absolutely, and I have no regrets, because it was just that good.
The love story between Kayce and Knox is beautiful. The way they openly communicate their worries and fears shows the depth of their bond, and you can truly feel how much they love each other on every page. Knox Ward has officially made it onto my list of top ten book boyfriends, and Kayce is proof that you can be a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need anyone but still craves the kind of true love that sees and cherishes her.
Their story made me laugh out loud, and it even brought me to tears a few times. One of my favorite elements was the found family. I adored the banter between Trey and Knox; not only were they hilarious, but they also supported each other through both wins and losses, which added so much heart. Jessie was another highlight her honesty and the way she guided Kayce through her fears showed the kind of real, deep friendship I love to see in books.
Beyond the romance and friendships, the world itself was beautifully written. I loved how the authors captured the rodeos and the ranch setting it felt vivid and alive.
I already have my theories about who the next book will follow, and I cannot wait to continue this series!
- professional bull rider
- rancher's daughter
- he falls first
- mid burn
- cinnamon roll MMC
- found family
- rodeo lifestyle
- quirky side characters
- debut novel (first in series)
- Trey (that's it, he's a whole trope. IYKYK)
First of all- this does NOT read like a debut novel! There is absolutely no way you can read this book and not have a smile on your face when you're done. A cowboy romance written by a professional bull rider?? Those other authors have NOTHING on the Reistes.
Mountain Time follows the story of Kacey - a rancher's daughter in Oklahoma, and Knox- a champion bull rider. A break in between rodeos gives Knox the chance to help a friend out, and he ends up meeting Kacey while out on Diamond Hart Ranch tending to some horses. The meet cute between these two is hilarious - "𝐻𝑒'𝑠 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑜𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑟𝑖𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑡 𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑜, 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛'𝑡 𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑒 ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝑑" - that should tell ya all you need to know 😉
The pacing is exactly what I'm looking for in a romance book- a nice mid burn where sparks ignite halfway through. The plot ramps up and makes the second half of the book fly by. And my God, Knox Ward! *Fans self*
The bull riding scenes were my favorites - the imagery and attention to detail were so technical and descriptive, I literally felt like I was there. These are the things that set this book apart from the rest - the reader truly feels like they are there, living in the moment. Living the best yeehaw life with Knox, Trey, and the terrifying bulls 😂
The glimpse the authors give into rodeo life doesn't focus on the glitz and the glam that you tend to see portrayed on social media. This gets into the nitty gritty of rodeo life, which is such a breath of fresh air. Sure, you can gloss over details, but adding actual substance over fluff added so much to the story.
I'll also say that there's a part in this book that made me cry, and I'm a brick wall so this is high praise. The emotional depth ingrained in these characters is top notch 👌🏼

This was a bit different from my typical romance, but I liked it! I feel like it was western-ish in a way that I would appreciate, had good character depth (although the romance at times was a little eh for me), and had a good amount of spice. It did take me a bit longer to get through simply because of it's tense (totally a me thing), and at times I feel like although I could tell the author was passionate about the culture, sometimes it was a bit over me in the sense that I had to look up a few things to see what they were. All in all, a good read!

If Yellowstone and The Longest Ride had a baby and the baby was a Hallmark movie, that’s Mountain Time.
Overall a fun, light, quick read! Would definitely recommend!
And as a Midwest barrel racer and lifelong Horse Girl™, I’ve always struggled with horse-centric books/movies/TV shows and getting past the absurd inaccuracies (I’m looking at you Heartland). After reading the author’s note and learning about the authors’ backgrounds, I was hopeful. And I’m happy to report that this book is legit!

I am OBSESSED! Knox and Kacey's love story is one that you want for yourself. The way that they both swore off love but might risk it all for each other is to die for! There were times I wanted to shake Kacey and say, "GIRL! HE IS RIGHT THERE!" I had to put the book down a few times because I could not stop laughing. IT'S A GOOD THING, I PROMISE!!
Trevor and India, truly, have a way of writing a love story. Probably because they have their own. I loved the attention to detail. No background was left uncovered when it came to the plot. Being able to write what Trevor does for a living isn't bad either. 🥰
I seriously can't wait for the rest of the series to come out! I definitely will be buying copies!

I loved everything about this book! It was so refreshing to have a cowboy character who wasn't a jerk and wasn't a playboy. The true authenticity of the cowboy lifestyle and attitude shines through Knox and I love his character. I also like that Kacey, while impressionable, isn't naive. She's been through some rough stuff in her life but she's strong and she works hard and she goes after what she wants.
The story that these two characters went on is an enjoyable one and I feel like there was a natural flow to everything that happened between the two of them. That being said, I also believe there were some parts that weren't fully developed - it's not clear what happens to Buck after Knox leaves and stops training him. I know he can be ridden, but does he just become some magical cow horse then?
I think there are hints at other relationships that could develop throughout the rest of the series (CARSON AND LAINEY AHEM) so that prompts you to want to know their story and what's going on there, which I really enjoy in interconnected standalones.
I also think the writing of this book was well done. It's sometimes easy to tell when a book is a writer's first, but this one had great descriptions, great plot structure, and it was very easy to follow. The moments of intensity were built up well and I found myself worrying that every chapter that featured bull riding would be the chapter that Knox got hurt, luckily it was done in a way that I could not predict at all!
Overall, I think this an amazing novel, the characters are fun, their personalities shine through, the settings and scenery are described well, and I think there's great promise for the future books - looking forward to reading the rest! I just know that Trey's story is gonna be so fun.

I had no expectations going in to this book after receiving a NetGalley arc. However Knox & Kacey’s story really surprised me & in the end I was left wanting more of their story!
One of my favourite things in a book with any type of sport or speciality - is when you can TELL the authors know what they’re talking about. I’m a rodeo girl who loves putting my boots on for an event & this was super informative about all of the things that go on in the background of bull riding 🥹
This has one of the best tropes ever and that’s a man with a no girlfriend rule, who breaks his rule as soon as he meets her. There’s something so good about a cowboy with a 🌶️ mouth, who knows what he wants & has the patience to get it.
I can not wait for Trey & Jessie’s book and you can now consider me a big fan of this husband & wife writing duo 🥰
Also Gran was hilarious and one of my favourite characters!

I enjoyed Kacey and Knox's love story. Their journey together was complex, loving, emotional, and heart felt. There were a great range of side characters with distinct personalities which made them memorable. Also, I'm grateful to have learned so much about the rodeo world and the lifestyle. The epilogue summed up the story niclely. Thank you NetGalley and India and Trevor Reiste Publishing for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This was a really good book! I enjoyed reading about Kayce and Knox and them finding their way to each other. There were a few times where I was a little confused with some of the rodeo terms just because I’ve never read a cowboy romance that centered on bull riding but once I looked up the meanings it was easy to figure out. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read it! It was a great time and I will definitely read another book by this author in the future!

Mountain Time is the kind of book that sneaks up on you, quiet at first, but layered with emotion the deeper you go. The setting is beautifully drawn, almost like another character, and it gives the whole story a sense of calm and weight. There’s something grounding about how nature and relationships intertwine here, making it feel both intimate and expansive. The characters felt real in their flaws and choices, and I appreciated how the story explored connection, memory, and the things we hold onto. That said, the pacing was uneven in parts, and I occasionally wished for sharper momentum to carry me through. Still, the writing has a tenderness that makes up for those slower stretches.

The inward struggle Kacey had with Knox's dangerous job resonated with me. Ive been in a similar situation being with a Marine. Her love for him not wavering and standing by him through it all was inspiring. I cannot wait for Trey/Jessie's story!! These authors are going on my "approved list" forever!

If you’re looking for a cowboy romance that isn’t Chestnut Springs, you need to read this!

This was a fun and quick read. If you enjoy friends to lovers and Elsie Silver books, you’ll definitely like this one. The execution was solid and enjoyable.
I gave it 3 stars because it felt a little too “insta-lovey” for me. I’d love if there was more tension, the tension between them is talked about but I didn’t really feel it. I also didn’t feel super connected to the story.
On the other hand, I’m looking forward to the next book, because I loved Jessie and Trey. There’re definitely my type of book couple. This series has potential to grow into a great small town cowboy romance series with amazing couples and found family.

Mountain Time: What a Ride!
This debut came highly recommended—and I can absolutely see why!
I learned so much about bull riding, ranching, and parts of the country I’ve never seen. The setting felt vivid and immersive, and the story had me hooked from the start.
Knox and Kacey were both characters you want to root for. Even though they each brought their own baggage, their commitment to each other felt real and earned. Their chemistry and growth kept me turning the pages—I actually stayed up all night to finish this one!
Huge thanks to the authors and NetGalley for the opportunity to binge this early. I’m already counting down to book two!

I just want to start off by saying wow. Many times while reading this book, I forgot that I was reading a debut novel. The way this was written was phenomenal and I couldn’t put it down. I devoured this book in 2 days!
I am an absolute sucker for cowboy romances, that being said, I’m very picky about how it’s executed. This book absolutely knocked my expectations out of the park. It was perfectly paced, the chemistry between the main characters was palpable from the get go, and their relationship was built at the perfect pace in my opinion. The fact that our authors were able to apply their own experiences with rodeoing and ranching made this story truly stand out.
I couldn’t help but fall in love with every character. The relationships and personalities were adorable. The banter was a 10/10 and I found myself laughing out loud many times, namely thanks to Trey and Jessie. Those two had me dying! The side characters added exactly what they needed to and I just loved each and every one of them and what they brought to the story. I absolutely love when books have me finding myself wishing I was a part of the family, and I think it’s an incredibly special gift to be able to invoke that feeling in readers. This book absolutely executed that found family feeling in me while reading, invite me to a family dinner night please!!
As for our two main characters, Kacey & Knox, their relationship had me giggling and kicking my feet on more than one occasion and I felt like they truly built a relationship on top of the sparks that flew. Their communication skills were a breath of fresh air, and the fact that there was no third act break up? Thank you!! I adore these two!
Do yourself a favor and RUN to grab this book when it comes out!!
Side note, I cannot wait to watch this world build and I’m out of my mind already waiting for the second book with our next two lovebirds ;)
A special thank you to NetGalley and India and Trevor Reiste for allowing me the opportunity to read this book as an ARC. This was my first ever ARC read and boy did they set expectations high! Y’all have a true gift.

I got to read this as an ARC!! love a good cowboy romance and this one combined it with rodeos and I ate it up! I love that you could definitely tell that the husband and wife author team wrote this using their experience of being in the rodeo circuit for over 14 years! The pacing felt a little off sometimes but for being a debut book I thought they did an amazing job! Im so excited for their next book as well! I love the communication between Kacey and Knox and I'm so happy the conflict in the book was actual things instead of just a miscommunication trope. I love going to rodeos and watching the events especially bull riding so I liked that those scenes were a bit longer and more descriptive, definitely made it feel like I was watching a movie or actually there in the scene.

When I got accepted for this ARC I was so excited. Cowboy romances are possibly my favourite sub-genre of romance books. But also having authors who have their own experiences in this world makes for an even better story. I loved the story of Knox and Kacey and there journey of love and acceptance was amazing. You could also really tell when the husband came in and gave all the details of bull riding and when the wife came in with knowledge of ranching. It was really cool to see. After about the 50% mark the pacing of the timeline and the writing got a little jumpy. But overall it was an amazing story with barely any conflict which I love!!!
Thank you to NetGalley and the Authors for giving me the chance to read there book as an ARC. Greatly appreciated!!

Mountain Time by @trevorreiste & @india.reiste
🤠This was such a swoony cowboy romance.🤠
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
4 big juicy stars 🤩
I basically ate this book up within 24 hours. It scratched my cowboy romance itch I currently have. This story had so much substance it has you NEEDING to flip the pages, you can’t put it down. Our golden retriever MMC and our fiercely independent and smart FMC are definitely one of the most swooniest main character stories I’ve read about in a long time, I love them both so much.
The banter in this was INCREDIBLE I was constantly giggling, this was such a beautifully wholesome read and I absolutely advise you to read it!
On a serious note: Fortunately I’m a retired horsewoman and understood the terminology used in this novel, however this would be pretty difficult for someone who doesn’t have a background in understanding the horse/cattle world.
There was also a lot of American based references that as an Australian had me needing to google lots of different references (especially to clothes 😩), despite this it would have been a 5 star read for me.
I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, it can’t come soon enough.
At first, the writing style in Mountain Time felt a little on the juvenile side, but once I pushed past the 20% mark, I was absolutely hooked. The story follows world-famous bull rider Knox Ward and Kacey Hart, from one of the most successful ranching families, as they find love even though neither of them was looking for it.
I especially loved the dual POV format—it made the romance so much sweeter because we always knew what each character was thinking. No endless guessing games, just two hearts slowly colliding. The imagery was so vivid that I felt like I was right there: sitting in the stands watching the bull riding or standing beside the horses on the ranch.
The love story between Kacey and Knox was tender and genuine, and the side characters brought so much humor. They were hilarious, and I cannot wait to read their books when the time comes! While there were a few moments where my attention dipped, overall, I found this to be a fantastic cowboy romance. Fans of bull riding, ranch life, and sweet love stories are going to devour this one.

Mountain Time is warm, charming, and full of heart. The kind of romance that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and get lost in its pages. The mountain setting is vivid and atmospheric, adding a sense of both coziness and adventure that perfectly frames the love story.
The chemistry between Kacey and Knox feels natural and steady, building in a way that’s sweet but still has plenty of sparks. I loved how their relationship developed; it’s not rushed, but layered with trust, humour, and that kind of comfort you only get when two people truly fit together. The small-town/mountain lifestyle details also added depth and authenticity, making the whole story feel lived-in and real.
While it leans into familiar romance beats, the sincerity of the writing and the tenderness between the characters make it feel fresh. It’s a heartfelt, uplifting read that’s perfect for anyone who loves slow-burn connection and a rugged, outdoorsy backdrop.

Thank you NetGalley and the Reistes for the ARC!
Mountain Time is a debut novel by Trevor and India Reiste and it was so good!
Kacey is a hardworking FMC who lives and works on her family’s ranch. She has learned the hard way that some men only want you for your money. Knox is a professional bull rider that doesn’t have time for girlfriends while he’s chasing his dreams of a world championship title.
I’ll always be a sucker for a cowboy romance and this one checked all the boxes for me. The pacing was great, the characters are so lovable, and I was giggling and kicking my feet through the whole thing. The writing is so well done for a debut novel! I’m very impressed!
Knox Ward is top tier book boyfriend material 🤪
Come for the cowboy, stay for the emotional whiplash and hay-scented heartbreak.
Thank you India Reiste for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own
Well, buckle up, buttercup—this book is a wild ride through the Colorado dust and desire. Kacey Hart is no damsel in distress; she’s a ranch-owning powerhouse with trust issues thicker than a bull’s skull. And Knox Ward? He’s the kind of cowboy who makes you want to break every rule you’ve ever written in lipstick on your bathroom mirror.
Their chemistry? Hotter than a July rodeo. I mean, sparks fly, walls crumble, and suddenly we’re neck-deep in feelings neither of them signed up for. I loved watching Kacey hold her ground while Knox tried (and failed) to keep his heart in lockdown. The banter was sharp, the tension delicious, and the emotional payoff? Worth every page.
Why not five stars? A few plot twists felt like they’d been roped in from the romance ranch next door. But honestly, I didn’t mind—I was too busy swooning and yelling “JUST KISS ALREADY” at my Kindle.
If you like your love stories with grit, heat, and a whole lotta sass, saddle up. This one delivers.

(Arc Review) 🤠🌾🤍
