Description

Dani and Jones have been in love before. But they don’t know it yet.

Dani, a music student at Howard University, finds herself tormented nightly by dreams of doomed lovers. While she tries to focus on her future, her life turns upside down when she meets studio guitarist, Jones.

Not only does she instantly fall for him, but as the two grow closer, Dani discovers a world-shifting truth: her ‘dreams’ are actually past memories of her and Jones. They might just have met, but Dani and Jones have loved each other in different incarnations over many lifetimes.

Through Paris in the 1880s, as the daughter of a wealthy landowner and a lieutenant ordered to protect her, in London as strangers trapped together in the Great War, as well as 1940’s Detroit as an underground boxer and doctor, Dani and Jones have found each other again and again.

But Dani’s dreams foretell that each past version of their lives ended in tragedy … will they now get the love story they always deserved to have?

A sweeping, epic, timeless romance.

Dani and Jones have been in love before. But they don’t know it yet.

What a gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous love story! I couldn’t wait for this one! I am always in awe of these beautiful stories of people as though they no each other from another life and this book perfectly captures that feeling. I devoured in one night! I had to finish and I was so thrilled at how beautiful it was written. This will definitely be a book club pick for me to share as well!

"Loved each other in different incarnations over many lifetimes," Oh my god. I liked the idea of this book a lot. The past lives and memories were really interesting, and Dani and Jones felt like they were meant to be. The different time periods were fun to read, though sometimes too quick and I got lost??? But the story also was a little slow in some parts, but overall it was a nice love story. Really liked the idea about timeless romance.

Only You is such a beautifully written story, and is a really strong debut from Celeste Daniels. The idea of two people finding each other across different lives was so interesting, and I loved how each past life was written. Those chapters stood out the most for me—they felt detailed, emotional, and full of tension, and I couldn’t wait to see how things would play out each time.

That said, the current timeline didn’t hit me quite as hard as the past lives did. I was hoping for a bigger payoff at the end, but it felt a little underwhelming compared to how powerful the past life sections were. Dani’s choices made sense, but I was left wanting a bit more from the novel's resolution.

Even so, I really enjoyed reading this. The writing was easy to sink into, and the love story had plenty of moments that kept me hooked. The cover is also gorgeous and fits the story so well. Overall, this is a touching, memorable debut and I’ll definitely be picking up whatever Celeste Daniels writes next.

Celeste must be a poet on the side because he words flowed through me like a poem, like as song. it was just so wonderful. the premise was beautiful and then the story that enfolded was also beautiful. i cant believe this is Celeste debut book. like how can that possibly be. and after googling i see she already has a deal for another to follow so im major excited for this.
this book was so smart. it followed two souls in love and in love and in love again. there was tension there due to what happened at the end of each of their past times together and i was left anxiously waiting to see if our pair would truly get their happy ever after. or how. or even maybe in what timeline. i dont want to give too much away even though i really do want to talk lots about it and then give it all away! but the magic comes in the coming to it fresh like i did. with those heart pulling, heart healing moments. with those little gasps and sighs of gentleness throughout.
i loved this book so much. and this cover was stunning. i was once given a painting from a dear friend to encompass how even in what i might think was darkness there was actually someone always there holding on. and this cover on first sight i thought was their painting! it wasn't but it endeared me to it all the more for that reminder. and this book is like a hug, a beautiful gift, an offering of something over to the reader. i loved every moment i got to spend with this book. stunning.
