Description
Romance with Zik was not on the menu.
On the menu were carefully plated dishes.
Not butterflies.
Not longing gazes.
Not replaying moments like a carousel.
And definitely not romance with my friend’s brother.
Or a younger guy.
So why was my stomach churning?
It had to be a stomach bug…

This was a nice light fun romance by an author I was not familiar with, I highly enjoyed the banter and the unexpected romance between these two characters. I will definitely be checking more out from this author in the future. Perfect if you are looking for a nice light fun romantic read

loved the cover of this book and went on to really enjoy the book too. this is a cute fun and smiley book with added heart.
Megan is dealing with a lot. shes lost her best friend and now she has to live through the grief of that loss and all it brings. and trust me its bringing it big style. she is turning 35 and this was not in any dreams, insights, plans or even fathomed prediction of her life right now. shes now got to work her way through. somehow. one such things is to becoming what she wants to be and that is her job as a photographer.
Dike is the best friends brother. hes also a chef and is dealing with the loss in his own ways. right now that means doing everything and anything that isn't thinking about his sisters loss. this means work. work. work.
now the two come together as Dike knows he could use Megan and vice versa. because he wants Megan to do the photos for his new cookbook. this could be just what Megan needs to get her off the ground in more ways than one so she readily agrees.
in the process of working together there becomes chinks, light, and getting to know each other in ways they never did before. and definitely starting to see each other ways they never did before. and this new connection could be just what they both need.
it wont be easy. their is pain to get through, family to navigate not to mention a fair bit of kitchen mess. moving on and moving towards healing is something you can bake up and ice to perfection. there's some wobbles, cracked eggs and dips along the way.
but sometimes the tastiest, truest recipes is simple. when done with love.
i was really invested in our pair in this book. they were both people i was rooting for both on their own and then together.
the scene setting was spot on and the food content was right up my street and felt rich and tempting throughout.
this book handles a really sensitive and horrible loss. and all the themes and thoughts that can come with that. but Eddy does it with such tender and kind writing that it didn't overwhelm or make it dark not for a second. and more importantly it has so much of the other stuff. so much love, warmth and finding how to keep going that it was just a beautiful book to be part of.
i loved this book and loved reading it. it was so much more than i thought it was going to be going in.
