A Broken Dreams Novella... She’s his best friend’s little sister. He’s the biggest player of them all. They shouldn’t be together. But this summer’s just too tempting.
Sixteen-year-old Emilia Moretti’s goal for the summer is
simple: forget her brother’s best friend—Nick Grawsky—ever existed. It should
be easy: He’s spending his summer in the Hamptons, adding girls in tiny bikinis
to his list of broken hearts. Guarantee he won’t be telling them they’re like
his little sisters. This summer, Emilia won’t stay awake at night thinking
about him. She’ll need flawless ballet movements to have a shot at next year’s
showcase, and she’s finally ready to search for her birth parents. But when
Nick decides to stay in the city, Emilia’s resolve disappears in a pirouette.
Maybe it’s the spin they needed to be together. As long as she doesn’t get
stuck believing in happily ever after…
Nick is tired of pretending to be the happy, let’s-have-fun
guy. His father wants him to change his career from professional dancer
to…lawyer. He needs to put all of his focus on dancing to prove to Daddy
Dearest he’s good enough to make it big. And he may have a case of the bluest
balls in history courtesy of Emilia. She’s off-limits: The bro code with
Roberto even forbids the dirty thoughts he has about her. Besides, he’s not
boyfriend material. He only has time for flings, for girls who don’t expect
much, for girls he doesn’t want to kiss goodnight. He knows he should resist
her, but he’s not sure he wants to…
At least for this summer.
It’s going to be a summer like no other.

Loved this story but I was DEFINITELY left wanting more! I fell in love with the main characters Em and Nick. The story posed an interesting question of whether you can go from friends to more, just for the summer, and then go back to just being friends. Can you turn off your feelings once summer ends? The story leaves the reader with lots of questions that will hopefully be answered in the sequel coming later this year. I will definitely be reading the sequel and would recommend checking out this prequel story.

This was one amazingly sweet read. I loved reading every second of it. I feel that this book was so short. This book captivated me since the moment I saw the cover and read the synopsis. I love reading romance books even though I'm a bit off the YA books. I loved reading this book.
I love the characters. Emilia had a crush on Nick for a long time and Nick had a crush on Em for a long time as well. I loved the chemistry these two had and Nick was an amazing friend to both Rob and Em. This book was also about Em trying to find her birth parents and how she struggle with everything.
I would have loved to know what happened to Rob and Em's father and how he got fired from his work. I wanted to know more about Nick's family and why his father wanted him to give up on his dream of dancing and I wanted more of Nick and Em's relationship.
Al in all I love this book and was a nice short fun read for a person who was in a book slump.

Well this left me needing to read more! Great story! Sizzling and sweet, a novella that grabbed my interest. Relationships are complicated and Em and Nick are certainly understanding that as they try and fight their feelings for each other. Told in alternating view points, this short story introduces strong characters and I can't wait to see where their story goes!
