Description

Is the assassin manipulating the world price of platinum and how many has he murdered?

Many such questions challenge Inspector Eyethorne OBE and her Fiancée who haven’t yet decided upon a name for their detective agency and neither have they had the time to fix a wedding date.

Their pan-European investigations reveal that the answers are connected and despite Special Branch directing operations, they find themselves being pursued by ruthless gangs across London. Their only options are high-level escapes.

Cabinet minister Maurice ‘bloody’ Hamilton enters this toxic mix and he’s out to make a killing; in both senses of the word.

This was a strong sequel in the Catch series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the previous entry in this series, it uses the thriller elements perfectly to tell the story and had characters that I cared about during the storyline. Douglas Roberts has a strong writing style and was glad I got to read this.

I received this book as an eARC through NetGalley. I really liked this book. It is a fast paced thriller with lots of action, intrigue, peril and statecraft. It's well written, exciting, and suspenseful. Without getting into spoilers I would just urge you to read it for yourself. This is a slam dunk 5 of 5 stars

My Thoughts:
Detective Inspector Patricia Eyethorne OBE is now employed by Special Branch. Justine Crawford, formerly of the diplomatic protection squad, is happily engaged to her.
One of my favourite parts in what detective inspector Patricia Eyethorne OBE did, who was employed by Special Branch. She hovered over the mouse over one section after another before she realised that what was available to the public on this website wasn’t going to be of much help, so she posed a question to the Special Branch computer that she’d nicknamed Doris. It might well have been the same sort of name of Doris that Justin had used when he was protecting diplomats.
Thanks NetGalley, DR Enterprises and Author Douglas Roberts for the advanced copy of "Slipscatch" I am leaving my voluntary review in appreciation.
