The Duke's Guard is a series revolving around Irish brothers and cousins employed to protect the Duke of Wyndmere and his extended family. The series introduces the reader to these handsome and loyal men who fight courageously and love fiercely. The Duke's Sharpshooter is no exception as Rory Flaherty meets widowed Temperance and her four year old daughter, Maddy. Rory soon finds himself in trouble as the wee lass and her mother worm their way into his heart. Not only is Rory tasked with guarding the Duke and his family, he must convince Temperance that she and Maddy deserve his name, loyalty and protection. All three will be needed as they navigate matters of the heart as well as external threats to their happiness. C.H. Admirand weaves a tale of duty, honor and love, wrapped up in action and comradery among the Guard. Not to mention a few fights to add to the action. Oh yes, achingly sweet HEA's all around!
What a lovely story this is! I fully understand why Rory, theDuke’s Sharpshooter, fell so madly in love with a 4 yr old! Maddy is adorable and I just wanted to squeeze her and love on her. Temperance’s strength was palpable, and it took time for her to realize it is ok to ask for help. I adored Rory and Temperance’s chemistry. You could just feel it peal off the pages. The proposal scene was very different and painful, but I loved how it ended. The villain is very self-serving and gets the punishment that was deserved, but I wish there had been a scene between Temperance and the villain-at least for an apology. The Epilogue is so very precious and I love that about this author. She gives a view into the future with her characters. I DO adore the Duke’s Guard and this one is worth every second of reading!
I received this story for free and these are my own views.
This was a strong fourteenth entry in the Duke's Guard series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the previous entries in the series. I was engaged with the characters and how it worked with the romance going on. The historical romance element was everything that I was looking for and was glad I read this, it was so well written and glad it worked in this type of book. C.H. Admirand wrote this perfectly and am excited for more.

Such a sweet, touching story! The depth of emotion achieved in this story was so authentic. Temperance's backstory is so touching. I cried at the pain she had faced. Rory's character added humor and lightheartedness, yet Rory is also such a gentle caring soul. I loved this story!

The story is well written and presented in such a manner that I enjoyed reading it. I loved the storyline and the fact that another one of the Duke’s guard Flaherty is getting his happy ending with Temperance. I absolutely loved Maddy, she brought so much to the story, even though she was only four-years-old. The unconditional love between Just Flaherty and Maddy made me laugh at times and yet it also made tears form at other times. It’s a great story that is full of emotions. Definitely worth reading.
