Description

From New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh comes the next contemporary romance in the Rock Kiss series…

Kit Devigny could have loved rock guitarist Noah St. John. Their friendship burned with the promise of intense passion and searing tenderness…until the night Noah deliberately shattered her heart.

Noah knows he destroyed something precious the night he chose to betray Kit, but he’d rather she hate him than learn his darkest secret. All he has left is his music. It’s his saving grace, but it doesn’t silence the voices that keep him up at night. Chasing oblivion through endless one-night-stands, he earns a few hours’ sleep and his bad boy reputation.

When a media error sees Noah and Kit dubbed the new “it” couple, Kit discovers her chance at the role of a lifetime hinges on riding the media wave. Wanting—needing—to give Kit this, even if he can’t give her everything, Noah agrees to play the adoring boyfriend. Only the illusion is suddenly too real, too painful, too beautiful…and it may be too late for the redemption of Noah St. John.

Wow! I was absolutely blown away by this story. This is my first Nalini Singh book and i know that is weird because she is a very well known author with countless books and fans, so from this point on i consider my self a big fan too.

I loved everything about this book. The story, the heart-wrenching secrets, the painful and organic drama, even the subtly hinted mystery of the stalker. Every piece messes in such a way that sweeps the reader undeniably off his/her feet.

The pain will tag on your heart and won't let go until the very last page. The amazing plotline grabs you right away and that overwhelming feeling never subsides. Every character is so distinctive and unique, well thought out and absolutely delicious, faults and all.

Noah is a hero with a magnetic pull, a powerful character and with a past that haunts him every single hour of the day. Kit is a warm woman, very conscious and not at all spoiled in spite of her upbringing. They are a match made in heaven but they both live in hell away from each other.

In their beautiful journey, they will conquer old demons, they will laugh, they will try to overcome every problematic aspect of their relationship, they will succeed in becoming friends again and ultimately they will admit on their feelings.

I fell so deeply in love with this book right away and by the end of it all i was ecstatic. Every page i turned threw me deeper and deeper into this brilliantly thought-out world and made me love almost every single character. I had an amazing time and i will definitely read the rest of the stories. It goes without saying, that i recommend this with all of my heart.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- From the very first page i was a goner.
- #NOKATS are awesome..
- Dual POV.
- I liked all the details that made each character unique and vigorous.
- Tiny idiosyncrasies made my day -like Kit loving to sleep in the cold or Noah's love for the stars.
- He was never been kissed!! AWWWWW!
- That secret, was more than i could handle.
- Their time in the garden. It really suited them.
- I loved all the other characters.
- There is a set up for the next book which will feature Abe and Sarah.

Love this series. Noah and Kit had to struggle through a lot to get together. I'm looking forward to Abe and Sarah's story. I gave this 5 stars no review on Goodreads

Rock Redemption, Nalini Singh Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance

We’re on to the third book in the series and its fast become a favourite for me. I loved Nalini’s Archangel series and now she’s firmly entrenched in my contemporary romance authors favourites too. I couldn’t really remember Noah from the other books, though have a faint recollection of Kit coming to Fox’s house one day and meeting Molly, where they got off to a bit of a difficult start. Never the less they’re now fast friends along with Thea, Molly’s sister and David’s girlfriend. Kit’s wanted Noah since she met him but he’s always kept her firmly in the friend zone. Then a while back they got closer and he broke her heart – what a jerk, I was thinking when I read what he did, what a horrible man. She’s well rid of him. Still, hearts don’t work on logic and common sense, and despite how heartbroken she was she still cares for him – but they can’t seem to get that old friendship back. Then when we got to know Noah it was clear he was hiding a huge secret, that he was acting to protect Kit from him and his fears. Things change though, they get closer once more and then a media photo goes viral and its make or break time, Kits career hinges on whether they can act as a couple. Its kind of like a bittersweet time for her, she’s still in love with him, and he wants to do whatever he can for her but is so scared of hurting her. He doesn’t seem to see what we can see, that by his actions he’s hurting her worse. Of course I wanted to know what the secret was, and whether it would follow the usual format – well, Nalini puts a twist on it so that its different, that it gives another dimension to what happened, so we can understand better all his fears. Once its revealed so much makes sense and I so felt for him, and understood his past actions better.
Alongside all that there’s the parallel plot of Kits stalker who’s been around for some time now, and has done some pretty horrible things and forced her to move into a more expensive property, employ twenty four hour security, and all that means her career is essential, she needs the money to keep this up, and she is scared that entering the “relationship” with Noah will break her heart when he cheats – because she feels its a when not an if. He’s a kind of manwhore, doesn’t do dates or relationships, uses sex as an escape, doesn’t care a bit about who the girls are, they’re just faceless to him, to be used and then left. She doesn’t see how he can manage without for the few weeks they need to keep up the pretence. Then the stalker steps up the action too – and it wasn’t until almost the end before I began to work out who was behind it....very cleverly done, and a realistic rational behind it. I really enjoyed this story, perfect pacing, great characters and I loved seeing the other band members there too. I’m looking forward to reading about Abe and Sarah next. Stars: Five, loved it. ARC supplied by Netgalley and publishers.

Contemporary, friends to lovers, rock and roll romance. Up and coming actress Kit Devigny has known and been friends with the guys in the band since before they hit. The media tried to pair her up with any and all of the guys at one time or another. The only guy she has wanted is guitarist Noah St. John. Noah’s issues make him an ass toward women but he is regretting the pain he gave her and the loss of her friendship. When circumstances put him in a place where Kit will be forced to spend time with him Noah sees an opportunity to make things right. But Kit is no pushover and Noah may very well have to bleed for her forgiveness. Nalini Singh is a fabulous wordsmith. This book dragged me in and made me feel. I laughed, cried, got angry and sighed. This book will remind you that you have a heart.

This book was amazing. It hurt a lot to read because Noah hurts Kit a lot in this story. ALOT!! But as you read you start to realise that Noah is really a man in a lot of pain and his hurting of Kit is his way of saying I love you.

I am a new fan of the author and have read this entire series, though it is a standalone. Kit is the famous movie star and Noah is her rock star. They are very close friends and they were becoming more when Noah decided to end it b hurting Kit in order to save her from him.

SPOILER ALERT I want to warn anyone that this story deals with child being abused sexually. You don't see the abuse but you hear and you can feel Noah's pain even 20 years later. I think it should be mentioned because its a red flag for certain readers. On the other hand I am impressed how the author dealt with it. She really made it very realistic and Noah had all the symptoms of an abused child. His struggle while trying to keep it out of the media but to try and get over it so he could be with Kit, well it was wonderful and so special.

Going into this book Noah and Kit are clearly in love. Noah has "issues" and so they try and maintain a friendship which is the first 40% of the book and thats the more painful part of the book. But while Noah hurts Kit with his promiscuity and rejection, there is also a lot of love and that kept me reading. At about 40% they decide to cash in on the media thinking them a couple and thats when the magic started. Noah finally starts to want to get better so he can be with Kit and Kit realises she will be there for him.

Its not an easy book. Noah is in a lot of pain. But it is a wonderful story and Noah and Kit are just beautiful as they fight for their happily ever after.
