Description
"A soaring blend of passion and magic—Elizabeth Schechter weaves romance and fantasy into an unforgettable spell." —Cecilia Tan, bestselling author of Slow Seduction
Born to shadows and power, Lorcan, the only child of the Raven King and grandson of the Morrigan, has always known his destiny: the throne. But fate is rarely so simple. An heir already exists—and Lorcan’s cunning cousin will stop at nothing to claim the crown, even if it means destroying a raven shifter with feathers as white as moonlight.
Kidnapped and thrust into the brutal gladiatorial arenas of Rome, Lorcan must navigate a world where blood is currency, betrayal wears a mask, and love is forbidden…or perhaps impossible. Yet, in the heart of this peril, Lorcan discovers that his heart is not his own. For he is destined to bond with only one…yet finds himself drawn irresistibly to two: the daughter of the man who enslaved him, and the grandson of the Roman Emperor himself.
In a realm where loyalty is tested, passion ignites like wildfire, and destiny claws its way into every choice, Lorcan must fight not only for his life, but for the love that could either save him—or destroy him.

You will always be different. Lorca is different to the other ravens as he is a white raven. He lives a quiet life with his parents but that all changes when his cousin traps him. He is sold as a slave and he fears that he will never get his cloak back as he is no longer a Raven.. He is been trained as a gladiator and his owner has said that in a year he will be free. But can Lorcan trust him to keep his word as the other gladiators are still slaves?
He has found his mate Livia and he will do everything to make sure that they go back to his homeland together.
Now that he is free will he be able to make his way home with Livia will all those dreams just be that and not real as yet? Will he beat his cousin one more time?
A slow read took me a while to get into the gladiator part of the read. Lorcan had to make a very hard choice when it came to his heart. I wonder what will happen next
A good read. Love the characters especially Corvina the Raven.
Thank you Netgalley & the publisher for the copy. This is my voluntary review.
Excited to read this sequel and it didn’t disappoint. Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review. The storyline followed on well wouldn’t be any good as a standalone so read book 1 first. The characters developed well through this 2nd book and left me feeling like it was worth the wait and the read. Engaging and entertaining a 4 star from me.

Lorcan is the child of the Raven King and grandson of the Morrigan. He is kidnapped and forced into the gladiator world. He's drawn to the daughter of the man who enslaved him...
Love the chemistry between the characters. The plot is fast moving and lots of suspense. Enjoy the roman history a lot.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
