A great introduction of Sally and the incredible impact she had on the world. The only thing that kept this from a 5 star for me was that the inclusion of vocabulary words was a bit odd. I couldn't discern a pattern between words that were bolded and included in the dictionary at the back, and words that were defined in-text. I think that could have been made more clear and consistent.

Sally Ride was such an inspiration to me when I was young, and it's wonderful to see this excellent introduction to her story for young readers. One thing that strikes me is that people like Sally Ride who have to work so hard just to make a breakthrough continue to achieve throughout their lives. It's amazing to keep that much energy!

This was an inspiring, factual look at Sally Ride's rise to become the first female astronaut, and her accomplishments throughout her career. I really enjoyed learning more about Sally Ride, and appreciated that this book included information about her life partner, Tam O'Shaughnessy. Learning more about Sally as a person helps readers see a full picture of this inspiring woman.
I highly recommend this nonfiction text for schools and libraries. Text includes a Table of Contents, Glossary, Index, and Comprehension Questions.

This is an amazing overview of Sally Ride's life. I learned a lot myself, and I think it is so important that young people-- especially young girls-- can see examples of powerful, smart, and successful women. This was a nice, easy read that would be an amazing addition to any young person's bookshelf. I can also see this being used in schools as supplementary material.
