All I can say is yum!!! As a busy mom to a toddler and stepmom to a 7 year old, the 20 minute dishes are definitely going to come in handy! I can't wait to try them. I also loved the Christian aspect of the book.

An absolutely charming book full of foodie quotes and delicious sounding recipes. She gives hints on how to avoid some culinary disasters and adds scriptures. The recipes are designed to take 20 minutes and I can't wait to try out a selection of them.

I particularly like the sound of Quick as a Wink Stir Fry, Parmesan Chicken and Pasta, Luscious Lime Pie, Mudbar Ecstasy, Snickers cake. It provides grocery lists. All in all a gorgeous book.

I so loved this cookbook. Not only did it include recipes but funny quotes, stories, great tips and helps. Since each of these recipes can be prepared in about 20 minutes or less, I look forward to trying them on days that I am rushed for dinner. I know that my dishes will never look as nice as the pictures in the book but, hey, taste counts more right?! If you are looking for a fun cookbook for either yourself or your friends as a gift, give "Too Blessed to Be Stressed Cookbook."

I’m not sure why, but I have always enjoyed reading cookbooks. I like finding new things to try and occasionally actually try them. Reality sinks in and things get busy and I find myself relying on things I know that are pretty easy and quick to make. One thing that I liked about this cookbook is all of the recipes require 20 minutes or less of prep time. While things are baking or whatever, I can be working on other things. Some of the recipes only needed 15 minutes TOTAL…with no extra cook time. I can always use some of those recipes in my arsenal.

There are four sections in this cookbook: Time-Wise, Soul-Fed, Heart-Healthy, and Company-Happy. The Time-Wise section includes one-pan meals, quick fixes, slow cooker meals, and quick desserts. The Soul-Fed section includes Southern Fare, Breads, Munchies and Sweets. Heart-Healthy recipes include low fat, fiber rich, vegetarian, and “shades of green.” The Company-Happy section includes hors d’oeuvres, soups/salads/sides, entrees, and desserts. The book concludes with eight menu selections and accompanying grocery lists for those who want to just pick some recipes and run with it.

I identified many recipes that I will try and hope to make “Starke Raving Chicken,” “Incredibly Easy Cheesecake,” and “Cha-Ching Chili Dip” for our next football party. Most of the recipes look very doable and delicious. The ingredient lists aren’t too long. The author identifies when a lighter version ingredient would work or wouldn’t work, which is helpful. There are color pictures of most recipes, which isn’t always the case in an e-cookbook. I like that a lot. To make it easier to find recipes again (since I have an e-version), I will highlight the recipes in various colors. Blue highlights may mean “Try this one soon” while pink will mean something else. That way, I can scroll through the NOTES section on my Kindle and quickly identify what I’m looking for. It’s the easiest way I’ve found to use an e-cookbook. If you have a better way, please leave me a note in the comments.

There is a healthy dose of humor in this book. There are “chuckle breaks” built in between recipes. Some of them made me laugh out loud. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who has had culinary flops or misadventures…like the time the tip of my rubber spatula melted off in the cheese souffle. Even the recipes themselves have some humor. One recipe said, “Serves: a small army.”

The author ties in her faith in a sweet, fitting way in the anecdotes between recipes too. That was another cool thing about this cookbook.

If you are in a busy season of life and could use some simple recipes to add some variety to your cooking without a lot of stress or work, give this cookbook a try. It would also be a great cookbook to give to someone who is newer to cooking as the recipes are not very complicated. It’d be a great way to gain some confidence and make some delicious meals.

Thank you to Barbour Books for providing me with a free e-copy of this book for the purpose of this review.

This wonderful cookbook eliminates the need for a few that are already on my bookshelf. Since my kitchen is small, and I keep cookbooks on a shelf in my tiny pantry, I don't have very much room. Every new thing I buy requires some careful consideration. That said, this book is definitely a keeper. There are four sections in it: Time-Wise, Soul-Fed, Heart-Healthy, and Company-Happy. Each of those sections is broken down into sub sections, so the author made it easy to find recipes that you might like to try.

I always like to have an idea of what I will find in a cookbook, so here is a sampling: The easiest way to cook chicken; pizza; stir-fry; beef and bean bonanza; everybody's fave baked spaghetti; incredibly easy quiche; crispy cheddar chicken; fabulous 15-minute fettuccine; lip-smacking barbecue; cricket's breakfast casserole; pumpkin soup; sweet potato dumplings; eclair cake and just shoot me Snicker's cake.

Rounding out this cookbook are scripture selections; tips and some amusing stories about cooking by the author. I highly recommend this cookbook, and I think I would make a great gift for anyone.

This handy cookbook is perfect for those stressful nights when you just want to get dinner on the table but don't want a huge mess to clean up! I love that there are pictures to most of the recipes and that the ingredients are ones that most of us are familiar with and have on hand!

Absolutely loving this cookbook. I have read the previous books for Too Blessed to be Stressed and this one, while different, offers plenty. The recipes are very simple and I have already made three of the recipes though I have many more I want to try. I have a family of very picky eaters and they have enjoyed what we have tried and my kids have even flagged some recipes they want me to try. The pages are colorful and the book includes many pictures. I would recommend this to any mom who is busy, especially during the dinner time crunch.

I absolutely loved this book from the bright cheerful colors to the hilarious stories in between. I especially loved how easy and simplistic the recipes were. How the pictures were realistic and not so artful that they seemed intimidating. It was almost like cooking with your mom or best friend as they shared an afternoon in the kitchen with you. The faith laced chuckle breaks were so refreshing and funny I found myself laughing out loud with tears in my eyes. There is a smattering of biblical reference but it is not too over done...not like the twice cooked fried turkey...lol. Great book that should be a staple in any kitchen.

First of all, I would never expect to have such fun with a cooking book. This author managed to make this book such a delightful experience, not only in terms of cooking itself, but also in reading it (yes, this book is pleasant to read).
She presents recipes that are quick to prepare (no more than 20 minutes of prep time; the cooking time may take longer, but you will be free to do other things) and that can be used to prepare a meal for your family or even more people. She uses ingredients that make the prep time easier and that can be found in a supermarket. The recipes include some classics, like a super easy barbecue recipe, or a cheesecake recipe, and new ideas that are so easy to do that you won't resist to try them out. There is pasta, chicken, pizza, soups, salads, desserts, healthy food, and many more. She also gives some suggestions of menus that we can use.
She adds some interesting and funny quotes from famous people in each recipe, and she also includes some funny stories that make the book a great read. I loved her sense of humor.
If you want quick and easy recipes and some funny stories and quotes to light up your day, that's the book for you.

I submitted this review to Goodreads, Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble website.

Too Blessed to Be Stressed is a great cookbook for those of us so busy we seem to meet ourselves coming and going.

Debora Coty has divided the book into four basic sections that include:
Time Wise Soul Fed Heart Healthy Company Happy There is also an introduction at the beginning and menu suggestions and grocery lists at the end.

The recipes are easy to read, follow, understand and most importantly, they are quick, using food items most people have on hand already.
Scattered throughout the book are notes about the recipe, handy hints, photos, Bible quotes and cute/funny stories titled Chuckle Breaks.

I really enjoyed the book (except for the Kindle formatting, which won’t be a problem for others as it is available as a hardback copy only).

Some of my favorite recipes are Deb’s Famous Chicken Salad (I love any chicken salad with grapes and nuts in it), the Chocolate Brickle (which has a surprise ingredient), Sweet Potato Home Fries-OK, who am I kidding, I pretty much like all of them I’ve tried so far!!

If you are looking for a way to streamline and de-stress mealtimes, Too Blessed to Be Stressed is definitely a book you want to check out!

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I recommend this book to everyone who is ready to destress some. Time in the kitchen is not something I look forward to in the evenings. I enjoyed some fresh ideas.

I found that this cookbook had lots of fun recipes that are quick and easy to make, especially when you are on a time crunch on a stressful day. What I really enjoyed is that the recipes are so simple that my kids can actually get in on helping to use them. For me this is a great thing since it makes it easy for me to utilize their abilities.

I really enjoyed the funny stories shared throughout the book about mishaps and scriptures to encourage you. The title for this cookbook is not misleading. It reminds you that you are blessed and because of that you should not feel stressed. When life overwhelms this is a great cookbook therapy for you.

I do love the images throughout the book but I really wish there were more step by step images to go along with the recipes. It really helps to know that it looks right during that initial step than having to wait and see if you messed it up or not. That would really be my only suggestions for future cookbooks.
