However, the younger man's past keeps resurfacing and threatens to drag him back into a dark and violent world front which he was trying to escape. The pressure on him to move back into this world steadily increases until it not only threatens him but threatens the lives of his friends....
Can they save the British economy?
Can they save their ideals?
But ultimately ...can they save themselves?

This is exactly what I expected- an on-the-nose modern interpretation of a Socratic seminar (with a character literally named Socrates) discussing the creation of an ideal economy between an increasing number of interlocutors with varying opinions. There is a plot, but it really does take a back seat to the dialogue. The ideas presented in this book made me think, and I'll definitely have a lot to chew on. However, the humor often fell flat for me and served to draw me out of the narrative. Maybe that's a sign that I would prefer a straight philosophical work rather than a fiction piece.
