Description

Is your child striving for perfection or seeking the approval of others? You Always Belong, inspired by the bestselling nonfiction book People Pleaser, is a beautiful book that helps children understand their worth isn’t based on pleasing others or being perfect. Written by New York Times bestselling author Jinger Duggar Vuolo and Jeremy Vuolo, this book gently explores how God loves us unconditionally, how we always belong in his love, and how it’s OK to have boundaries and even to say no sometimes.

Perfect for children ages 4 and up, You Always Belong encourages kids to ask, “Who am I?” and find their true worth and purpose in being a beloved child of God. Through engaging storytelling, your child will learn:

  • God’s unconditional love.
  • That their worth comes from being his child, not from their performance.
  • How to break the cycle of habits, mindsets, and peer pressure that self-sabotage.
  • The importance of obedience, self-discipline, and character-building, while understanding these are expressions of kindness and love.

A wonderful children's picture book that encourages kids & reminds them of God's great love for each & every one!

Each page has lots of brightly colored pages & rhyming words, meant to draw in interest & keep their attention. Kids & parents alike will treasure this book & want to read it over & over.

A great reminder to us all, that we should be a friend to those who need it & that God is always there for us, that He created us & loves us more than we can imagine.

Thanks to the authors, publisher & Netgalley for the ARC read. All opinions are my own.

What makes this book so exceptional is its focus on unconditional love and true worth. Through gentle, engaging storytelling and charming illustrations, it teaches children that their value comes from being a beloved child of God, not from performance, perfection, or the approval of others. The message is one of acceptance and belonging, reminding kids that even when others are unkind, they are always loved and have a place in God's love.

The story is relatable, reassuring, and helps plant the seeds of self-worth and confidence in young readers. I really enjoyed reading this with my 5 year old, especially we have been struggling with our big feelings. This book is a comforting resource for any family and a story that children will cherish and want to revisit again and again.

As a youth services librarian, I would buy this for my patrons for the Christian content and the star power authors. I know many families would be eager to check out a book authored by Jinger and Jeremy. I think the narrative would be enhanced if it were set to music. Some of the repetitive phrases sounded like a church hymn. The illustrations were cute and colorful, with some diverse characters, but more European-American characters by far.

I recommend this for churches and libraries.

So sweet! This is a wonderful reminder to children to act in a way that reflects Jesus and treat others kindly while also being respectful of themselves. This story presents lots of opportunities to chat with kiddos about to handle situations that may arise with integrity and grace.
