Description
When Vera is admitted to the Great Space Academy she is ecstatic! But out of all the children selected, there is only one other girl… Do only boys want to be astronauts?
At the Great Space Academy, where future astronauts are trained, there are very few girls. Vera is a brilliant girl and passes one test after another, but there are some boys in her class who think that girls shouldn’t be astronauts and they do everything they can to stop her. Will Vera succeed despite the obstacles?
After Martina the Soccer Star, Susanna Isern and Marta Moreno come together again to bring us Vera the Astronaut, another book that proves girls can be whatever they want to be.

Vera the Astronaut, written by Susanna Isern and illustrated by Marta Moreno, is a lovely picture book featuring Vera, a girl whose hard work and determination results in attending the school of her dreams and becoming an astronaut.
This positive story is one that features the importance of team work and following your dreams while helping others. It's always good to see girls as the hero of a story, providing a role model for young female readers. There's even a bit of suspense thrown in as Vera and other astronaut Ana embark on a rescue mission, keeping the reader turning the pages.
Thank you for the ARC of #VeratheAstronaut to #NetGalley.
There is nothing better than a book where the females are heroes! This is such a wonderful book that shows that girls and boys are equally matched in all things. It teaches perseverance, determination, confidence in oneself, and overcoming obstacles. This is a great story for all kids. #GirlsInSTEM!
