I love concept counting books! This one is great because the pictures are bright and beautiful and the different trees are interesting ones that make for potentially lively conversations.
A simple, yet stunning, counting book that is perfect for little ones. The way it introduces trees and diverse cultures from all over the world is both educational and captivating. The papercraft illustrations, reminiscent of Ezra Jack Keats, are truly special and inviting.
My child absolutely loves counting along with the rhymes and seeing all the different trees. This book is a wonderful way to spark curiosity about nature and different cultures, making it an essential and enriching addition to any baby or toddler's library. Highly recommended for its beauty and heartwarming message!
A cute, counting book that features stunning, papercraft art. It's a unique counting book that uses simple rhymes paired with different types of trees for counting. Each tree featured also reflects different regions, cultures. It will foster learning for little ones, because although a tree is a a tree, there are so many different types of trees that can make up a forest. Curious minds will be intrigued by all the different types of trees. I, myself, was very intrigued too and wanted to look up the ones I've never heard of! Thank you Familius, Cathy Goldberg Fishman and Net Galley for providing me the opportunity to read this eARC!

This is such an adorable book! I love that it’s designed for “Little Tree Huggers”, it’s a wonderful way to introduce kids to the beauty of nature. Instead of being just another counting book, it teaches children about different types of trees, making learning both fun and educational. The illustrations are engaging, and the concept encourages curiosity about the environment while promoting an appreciation for the outdoors.

This was super cute! The writing was very clear and straightforward, which allowed the charming illustrations to really shine. I think this would be a great read for kids to learn about the different types of trees.
So cute. I love how you are not only counting but that the pictures are showing the cultures and other animals that those trees reside in. Perfect for any young reader.
What a delightfully charming little board book to teach little ones about counting and also nature. There is an amazing amount of diversity of flora, fauna, landscapes, people, colors, etc in so few pages. The artwork is beautifully done and so fun for little children. I can absolutely see myself buying this for any new parents and would enjoy thoroughly reading (and learning about different types of trees!) this to a group of kids. There are so many places where good discussion can take off based on each one of the pages in this brief book.

Thank you to Familius for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
A Walk in the Forest is a beautifully crafted children’s book that immediately stands out with its cutout-style cover art. The interior artwork perfectly matches that aesthetic, creating a cohesive and inviting visual experience from start to finish. The friendly font adds to the playfulness of the book and complements the nature-themed illustrations.
The different trees featured throughout the pages are drawn in a way that makes them easily distinguishable, helping young readers start to recognize various types of forest environments. The characters are adorable, adding a gentle sense of adventure as the story unfolds.
It’s a short, simple book, but it’s thoughtfully done, perfect for very young readers. One of the highlights is how it incorporates counting up to 10 naturally within the story, making it both fun and educational.
Although my favorite tree wasn't featured in the book (Red Maple Tree), overall, A Walk in the Forest is a sweet, visually cohesive children’s book that blends cute artwork and early learning elements into a lovely little read.
