Moving in together in a small town isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be, especially when your girlfriend is… slightly unpredictable, a little neurotic, disorganised and a complete hot mess. But Davie Marshall is well and truly in love and a few quirks aren’t going to get in the way of the beautiful, funny and passionate woman he’s besotted with. He’s more than man enough to take the backseat and watch her wheelspin through the mud of life.

And then arrives his ex-girlfriend, with her Casanova brother in tow, fired up to renovate a house and stir up the whole neighbourhood.

Maisy doesn’t care if their project brings strangers into town, she doesn’t even care if the woman is Davie’s ex. But she does care about the flirtatious way his ex, Chloe, is clawing at her man. Or is she overreacting? Used to causing chaos Maisy needs space, space to work out how much of it’s in her own chaotic mind.

Unlucky for her, her place of sanctuary has been poisoned by secrets uncovered by her own curiosity. Secrets that could have Maisy questioning her whole existence as well as her relationship with Davie…

I’ve really enjoyed returning to this little corner of small-town chaos, and this book kept that same blend of humor, heart, and emotional messiness that makes the series so charming. Maisy and Davie are such a relatable couple, deeply in love but still trying to figure out how to live together without driving each other crazy.

I liked how the author explored the challenges of moving in together and how love isn’t always enough when life (and exes!) complicate things. The tension with Chloe added just the right amount of drama without taking away from the warmth of the story. Maisy’s personality really shines here — she’s unpredictable, funny, and sometimes a total disaster, but that’s exactly what makes her feel real.

There’s also an emotional undercurrent that surprised me, especially as Maisy starts to uncover secrets that make her question herself and her relationship. The balance between heartfelt moments and humor was really well done.

It’s a fun, quirky, and emotional follow-up that still manages to say something honest about love, trust, and self-discovery. I’m already looking forward to seeing where the author takes this series next!

i love the realness to this book. it really seemed to be written totally aware of what people of all kinds might go through in these situations. i love how Maisy wasn't just some clear cut heroine. or some "norm" female lead. but she was still such a good person. she might feel raw, irrational and messy at times but she is kind, bright and cares. i really felt for her when Davie's ex bought too much uncertainty to the world they lived in. that leads you to be and act a certain way and we truly got to see and feel that for her. seeing her and Davie in this part of their life felt really true and interesting. they were authentic they hid things and said too much. they kept things in and cared too much. they didn't talk and then they said all the wrong things. and we get to witness that. but also so much of the love. i was rooting for them so much and when they were going through it or sad i felt that too.
i just wanted to follow along all the way with this pair. and i was all over the place myself at some parts wondering if they'd be ok. there were certainly certain forces in this book that was trying to make them not so.
you really get to see how couple rub alongside each other and what happens when outer forces come into play in your dynamic. you have to be really strong in those moments. and couple do and are allowed to stumble. but its where you go from there and it doesn't mean there isn't as much love there either. which is often what makes it so hard. when each new moment uncovered came up i was tense with them and for them.
there is so much warmth and heartfelt writing in this book. you really do get involved and end up caring for the story and characters.
their is the little sprinkle of wit and humour written in too. and its just my type that make me inwardly smile.
its also very good way of reminding us how easy it is to "see" or "know" whats happening from the outside. or what we might not do, or might need to have talked through, from the outside. but when your in it like this too you can then also see how and why things perhaps so often dont go that way.
a brilliant book.a winner on so many levels.
the cover of this book deserves a beautiful mention. its lovely and really adds to the feel of this book as soon as you have it in your hands to read.

3.5 stars for me.

Davie and Maisy are living happily together, well they were until Davie ex come backs to town, and it seems that this may be a problem. One misunderstood situation leave Maisy packing, and leaving Davie,as she's not sure if she trust him still.Add family secrets and Maisy must decide what she really want.

Will Maisy and Davie get HEA?

It was enjoyable romance, this is second book in the series, and I regret not to read first,as I would like to know how Davie and Maisy got together. The story flow quick, and friends and family adding fun to it,there is also few spicy close door scenes.I wish to give higher rating because there was potential for it,but the break up was just so unnecessary, and it drag due to lack of conversation.Sometimes Maisy and Davie were so sweet with each other, other times very immature. It was so easy to clean this misunderstanding and just talk with the ex,but there was instead a lot of dancing around this issue.Beside that I liked this romance, would gladly read other books by this author.

Romance, spice and some family secrets, overall enjoyable read.

Thank you netgalley and publisher for my copy, the review is honest and my own.
