Sweet, Smart, and Full of Heart!
Who knew learning about chocolate could be this fun, flavorful, and downright heart-melting? 🍫💛
Where Chocolate Grows is a sweet and vibrant story that beautifully mixes curiosity, culture, and learning. Young Roberto’s adventure with his Abuela takes readers on a delightful journey—from their cozy kitchen to the cacao trees of the rainforest—all the way to a homemade batch of chocolate. I loved how the book celebrates family bonds and traditions while teaching kids where chocolate really comes from. The bilingual (English/Spanish) storytelling and the colorful, sensory illustrations made it even more engaging. It reminded me of reading stories with my own grandparents—warm, comforting, and full of discovery.

I knew I was going to love this non-fiction picture book the moment I saw it. This is a sweet book where Roberto learns about the origins of chocolate from his Abuela.
All the chocolate descriptions and different ways to eat them made me hungry for a sweet treat. This is a great book for elementary students. I also love the fact that there is an activity that kids can do at the end of the book. Although this is a non-fiction picture book, it doesn't come off information heavy or difficult to understand.
Can we talk about the pictures?! The pictures are BEAUTIFUL and MAGICAL. I loved every single picture and the attention to detail. I can't wait to purchase this book and add to my library!
Thank you to NetGalley and BookBuzz for this ARC in exchange for my review. I always appreciate being able to read books in advance to share with my fellow readers❤️.
Who knew a chocolate bar could take you on an adventure? 🍫
This book is so adorable! Roberto and his Abuela totally stole my heart as they turned a simple cup of cocoa into a whole discovery about where chocolate comes from—trees, bugs, and all! The pictures pop, the Spanish words make it extra fun, and I even learned something new (thanks, Midgey the tiny bug hero!). Kids will love this, parents will love reading it aloud, and honestly… now I kinda want hot chocolate. ☕✨
