A peaceful Yorkshire seaside love affair is shattered by the Second World War. After years of hardship and separation, can Harold and Ellie ever find their way back to each other?

When war broke out, Ellie remained in Yorkshire, enlisted in the ATS, and later transferred to Scotland on a classified mission. Harold joins the call to fight and his experiences in the Dunkirk evacuation and subsequent imprisonment in Italy have resulted in years of hardship and loss.  

Should Harold risk an escape to the mountains in search of freedom? After so many years apart, if he does manage to escape, will Ellie be lost to him forever when the war ends?

LIN TREADGOLD was born and raised in Yorkshire. She is a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association and the Society of Authors, and her two previous novels are 'Goodbye Henrietta Street' and 'The Tanglewood Affair’. Lin now lives in Devon and is the Group Organiser for the Romantic Novelists' Association Exeter Chapter.
