I’ve read several books in this series and always get excited for a new installment, but I think this one might be my favorite, despite having zero connection to golf. The colors are bright and engaging throughout, the illustrations are adorable and easily recognizable, and the accompanying words are clear and easy to read (something that’s been a problem with previous books in the series). Perfect for introducing little ones to sports—or for people like me who just derive significant joy from cute illustrations and pretty pictures.

Thank you to NetGalley, Familius, and Adina Oberman for the advanced copy. This review is voluntary, and all opinions are my own.

I love the idea of this book and my 3 year old would be obsessed! The illustrations are great and a little more advanced to allow for learning of some things like counting and directions (would’ve never thought backspin would be in here but I am impressed!). This would be better for an older toddler than someone just starting to use small words, but I would definitely buy this!

"100 First Words for Little Golfers" by Adina Oberman is a quick read for children learning about golf. Adults can also learn golf terms as well. I feel like myself learned more than my young nieces and nephews did when showing them the book!

I read this book and laughed many times. I am new to the sport of golf and is currently learning the terms of golf. Seeing pictures of the terms I heard when I'm playing or I overhear at the golf course has been helpful to actually understanding what the golfers actually mean.

I received a digital advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for my review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cute, silly, and great for the future pro golfer in your life! 🏌️‍♀️⛳️ “100 First Words for Little Golfers” is a hole in one! This book is full of fun and colorful illustrations that are so visually appealing for little readers and easily recognizable. One of my favorite things about this book is it’s great for both little boys AND girls and shows images of female golfers as well! My daughter (lovingly named after the Magnolia Lane of Augusta National) is a future golfer in her own right, and I am always excited to share books like this with her that show that golf isn’t just for boys! All terms are simple, and the book can be used as a great way to engage with your little ones and explain the terms included and give more information depending on their age and level of understanding. Looking forward to taking a copy of this along with us to the golf course next summer when we hit the greens!

So delighted and thankful to familius and the author for providing me an advanced readers copy of 100 First Words for Little Golfers in exchange for my honest review of this book through netgalley !!

I can see this being the perfect present for parents, or parents to be that love golfing!

Its a fun golf book for kids which has a mix of golf terminology and some of the famous celebrity golfers out there included too. It is a parody book so not really one to use for first words as such but it is fun all the same - would be a great secret Santa present or one for a baby shower as a quirky and cute gift for an occasion too like Father's Day or Mother's Day!

It is 4 stars from me for this one - loved the nice and bright illustrations.

🏌🏼‍♀️ 100 First Words for Little Golfers is a lovely first words book for babies and toddlers with an interest in golf! There's some really fun illustrations and the colors are vibrant and eye-catching. Just about any golfing term or phrase you can imagine is included, and adults who golf will find it very fun to share a beloved activity with the little one in their life.

🏌🏼‍♀️There's even some mentions of golfer characters like Shooter McGavin and Happy Gilmore, which I thought was really funny. There's even some little maps of a golf course, which is cool for explaining how golfing works to the younger generation. This book would make a great gift for the golfer in your life who is expecting a baby, and they'll appreciate the personal touch! I would definitely recommend for any little golfer's home library or as a baby shower gift.

5 out of 5 Stars! 🏅

I'm continuing to happily make my way through this series. The fun thing about it is that the authors and illustrators will always have material to choose from, because of the endless selections of hobbies, sports and interests, from the popular to the niche. This entry focuses on the world of golf, a source of pride and great enjoyment for those who are committed to the game. As with the other entries in the "100 Words" series, author Adina Oberman includes a mixture of people and paraphernalia associated with the game and golfing culture at large. There's an educational as well as entertaining element to this book; I learned a few of the proper terms for objects.

Hardcore golfers as well as those interested in the sport will enjoy introducing and explaining the elements to the little ones in their lives. I like that the author doesn't go into much detail about the elements listed here. Granted, as I mentioned in a review of another volume, this is a necessary feature of the books in general. Golf is so specific with all of its notorious quirks, that even detailed text explanations won't quite do them justice; these elements are made to be discussed. The entry for golf shoes, with their distinctive colors and cleats, already shows how different they are, and that picture itself is all that's needed to start a conversation about why they look the way they do. Similarly, the frustrated look on the golfer's face for the "3 Putt" entry tells a story in itself, and is something that anyone who plays the sport would instantly understand.

I enjoy Gareth Williams' illustrations. I've been noticing his style across different entries in the "100 Words" series as well as across other children's books. He makes things look simple and detailed at the same time, such as his depiction of a golf club with all of its labeled parts. His sense of humor also shines through his illustrations. One gets the sense of how seriously golfers take their sport and how perturbed they get when something interferes with it. I like the little in-jokes throughout the text, like Arnold Palmer holding his delicious drink, the umbrella, which doesn't need the "golf" modifier on it for obvious reasons, and the little gopher sticking his fuzzy head out of the ground. The latter made me laugh because of his triumphant little wave; it IS his turf after all. (As a side note, this would also be a good opportunity for adults to talk about the relationship between sports fields and animals' natural habitats.)

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, Familius, for this DRC in exchange for a fair and honest review. The thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own.
