Rise and Shine, Joon!
Good Morning Joon is the cutest, coziest bilingual wake-up call you’ll ever read, and I adored every bright, giggly moment of it.
Good Morning Joon is a sweet and gentle bilingual story that follows little Joon through his morning—from waking up in his cozy bed, stretching his bâzoo-hâ (arms), brushing his teeth in the bright yellow bathroom, playing with his spirited pets Asal and Misha, to enjoying breakfast with his family. I really enjoyed how naturally the Farsi words were woven into each routine, especially with the helpful pronunciation guides and soft watercolor illustrations that feel warm and comforting. As someone who loves picture books with purpose, I appreciated how this one makes early language learning feel fun, simple, and part of everyday life.
If your morning routine needs a dash of cuteness and a sprinkle of bilingual magic—Joon’s got you covered!
Good Morning Joon totally brightened my day. I mean, watching this kid stretch, splash, brush, dress, chase his adorable pets, and raid the fridge (hello, leftover ghormeh sabzi) had me smiling like a goof the whole time. The Farsi words are super easy to pick up, the art is soft and cozy, and honestly, it just feels GOOD to read. If you want a book that makes learning fun and mornings sweeter, this one’s a must-grab. ☀️🐾📚

Good Morning Joon by Ari Roven
I really like this book, but my one critique is they should have the English words next to the Farsi words.
I do like how they have the pronunciation next to the words and it is a great morning routine for Joon.
From getting up, to dog tails to brushing teeth and more this book has the Farsi words to learn.
There is a glossary in the back that tells the English meanings.
The illustrations are cute and rough kind of old school which is refreshing.
I recommend this book for older children for the home library,

This is a great book to learn about another language, in this book there is the addition in the story of words from the Farsi language. The story was easy to follow and there is a handy guide at the end to translate the words. I liked that the book not only had the word but also spells it out phonetically too to help with the pronunciation. The illustrations work well with the story too.
