Description
A thrilling novel set in the style of Sleeping Giants meets the gods of Olympus when a shadow war between powerful intelligence contractors threatens global power.
Achilles is dead. Helen has vanished. And Zeus still reigns-his power sustained by igniting a shadow war between the nation's top intelligence and defense contracting companies. How did it come to this? And what truths have been buried to protect those at the top?
Homer, a justice-driven criminal investigator, is determined to uncover truth. His source: Muse, a brilliant intelligence analyst and contractor who may be the only one capable of decoding the lies spun by warlords, governments, and the ghosts of fallen legends.
In a work structured to look and read like a classified debriefing transcript, Operation Trojan War thrusts an ancient saga into the world of modern covert operations, private military corporations, and crumbling allegiances. In a high-stakes game of secrets and power, the question remains: Who will risk everything to expose the truth-and hold the gods of our age accountable?
Where Greek mythology collides with modern warfare, one operative holds the key to unraveling a legacy of betrayal.

An interesting take on the trojan war with a modern twist. We find homer- an either cia or fbi agent - interrogating the muse - an independent contractor- trying to discover what happened to Helen, Achilles, and what any of this has to do with what she's talking about.
It's very much reminding me of Helmet of Horror

A modern retelling of the Trojan War.
In fanfiction terms, I would define this as a modern military AU stylized as a case log with the information presented in the form of transcripts between ‘Homer’ and ‘Muse’. Some attachments are made to the log with case notes to add context where applicable - for example: attachment 2 was used to define terms.
I enjoyed both of the point of view characters. Homer is a detective charged with investigating ‘Operation Trojan War’ and Muse is an intelligence operative supplying information to Homer in exchange for a plea deal. Homer was casual yet professional, and that allowed the transcript to feel like a real conversation instead of an episode of Law & Order. Muse could come off as a bit expository, but that’s the job.
If you enjoy true crime and Greek mythology, I would highly recommend this.
