Journey into history with science and adventure! Step back to the 1950s, where world-changing innovations and the pursuit of peace take center stage. I will be buying this book to highlight a hidden and forgotten history for my junior high students. This book features a beautiful balance between illustration and information, and provides a fascinating and overlooked part of history. This is fascinating, beautifully illustrated with maps, the buses themselves that traveled the world to teach scientists, and key landmarks along the way. Highly recommend!
I love it when a picture book teaches me something new, and I had no idea about the two blue science buses before this. What a cool and surprising piece of history! It’s wild to think about labs on wheels traveling around the world to help scientists work together after World War II.
The story explains a big, serious topic in an easy-to-follow, non-scary way, and the illustrations do a great job of showing both the science and the sense of adventure. It really does feel like a journey.
This is a great pick for curious kids who like real stories and big ideas, and for grown-ups who enjoy learning right alongside them. Fun, thoughtful, and full of neat facts.
