I finished reading the Love is Patient Romance Collection today and it was like a visit with several old friends. Three of the novellas were in the Spinster Brides of Cactus Corners. With a cup of tea and a comfortable chair, I felt I had had a chat with some very dear friends. That was what reading this collection was like. I had not read all of the stories before, but they were all just as comfortable as if I had. All of the novellas take place in the late ninteenth century when horses and buggies were the primary mode of transportation, telegraphs were the major communication between towns, and sometimes bankers were poisonous like snakes--ready to take advantage of helpless widows.
All of these authors have the ability to weave a tale that holds the reader's attention while surrounding the readers with a comfortable blanket and a cup of tea. Nine stories will fill some afternoons with pleasant distraction when the weather won't allow other activities.
Definitely five stars, two thumbs up, and a cup of tea with a friend.
My thanks to Barbour Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book.

Enjoyed this collection of heartwarming stories that take place in the 1900's. This is a great book to read on a cold winter day wrapped in a favorite quilt.

I was very pleased with this set! Often, the stories in these types of sets can seem short and thrown together. But this one was well done, well written and a joy to read. Each story has solid characters and a great chemistry. I love that some of the books flow together while some stand alone. Such a fun, cute series to read!

I read The Love Is Patient Romance Collection. I absolutely love these little novella collections!! Every time I've read one of these little novellas I find new authors to fall in love with! My favorite by far in this collection is Erica Vetsch! I just wished this would have had all of the sisters stories in it, but I did find out that you can get their story through her other book The Sagebrush Knights!!! That will be one I will have to buy. I also loved Jill Stengl The spinster's Beau! The one book I didn't care to much about was A birthday wish by Darlene Franklin. I just didn't like it. All in all I will continue to read these little short love stories!

What an enjoyable book to read! Nine stories set in the west, with delightful men and women who meet and through various occurrences find love along the way. I enjoyed reading the short novellas by different authors. Some of the novellas had people connected from one book to the other, which made it fun and interesting to follow their lives. I highly recommend this book to anyone who only has short sections of time to read, but wants to read a book in its entirety.

Spinsters, plain janes, and mail order brides all find out that self image is not as important as character and the beauty others seen in you. Lovely stories that show that beauty on the inside translates to beauty on the outside. Guys this goes for you too, external appearance is greatly enhanced or diminished by character. These stories are particularly dear to me as that is just what I told my husband when he asked to date me. These stories really do ring true. Wonderful reads.
