Been a fan of Vedic astrology for years, and always on the lookout for new nuggets of information and views on interpreting natal charts. This is one to have on hand, good for both newbies and those who have been into it for years.

Principles of Vedic Astrology by Geoffrey Pearce is a comprehensive book about Vedic Astrology. I have personally been exploring the sidereal perspective of astrology for several years without fully committing to the study due to a lack of quality books written in English. I was absolutely delighted to read my first Vedic Astrology book via NetGalley.

The techniques, meanings/descriptions of all planets, signs, and houses is covered. The book is a detailed manual that covers most if not all of the basic and more advanced methods and systems. Everyone can appreciate this book. From beginners to more advanced practitioners. However, studying with a master astrologer is always recommended. As a beginner, or someone that is curious about what Vedic Astrology has to offer, I found this book a good introduction. Vedic Astrology does get quite complex the deeper you go, and that's where I quickly discovered how nuanced, complicated, and rich this philosophy/perspective is. There are numerous charts, nakshatras, rules, and instructions for interpreting various planetary configurations. Western Tropic Astrology with its focus on the psycho-spiritual perspective lacks the nuance and soul enriching wisdom that the Eastern philosophy of astrology contains. Reading this book reaffirmed to me just how skilled and dedicated one must be to practice astrology. It truly is an art, science, and life long commitment (especially considering how rich and complex Vedic Astrology is). At the same time, this book has also reaffirmed my interest and appreciation for the Vedic wisdom.

I would highly recommend Principles of Vedic Astrology by Geoffrey Pearce for anyone who is interested in Vedic Astrology, practicing Vedic Astrology, or anyone who would like to awaken and deepen their relationship to the cosmos.
