Description

USA TODAY bestselling romantic suspense author Colleen Coble and Rick Acker deliver the final book in their beloved Tupelo Grove series: Hez and Savannah Webster have survived storms that would bury others without a love as strong as theirs--but can they withstand the final battle in the deadly Legare-Willard feud that threatens to sweep away everything they've fought for?

Hezekiah "Hez" Webster and his fiancé, Savannah, stand on the brink of a new life, but their dreams are haunted by specters of the past. Just as they're getting ready to adopt her nephew, two other petitioners also file for custody--both of whom only want Simon for their own gains.

Between the financial company that Hez outmaneuvered to save the university from ruin and the bad blood from the head of the Willard family, it's hard to say who wants them out of the way more. Hez and Savannah's quest for justice leads them through a labyrinth of family law, where loyalties are tested and trust is a dangerous luxury when every decision could be their last.

With the clock ticking, Hez and Savannah must confront the ghosts of their past and their deepest fears to secure a future for Simon. But with every secret revealed, the stakes grow higher. Can they build the family they've always dreamed of, or will their enemies succeed in tearing them apart forever?

The Tupelo Grove series reaches its breathtaking conclusion as an enemy's agenda for revenge runs darker than swamp water and justice remains as precarious as quicksand in this heart-pounding narrative that underscores the power of redemption and forgiveness.

When Justice Comes is the third and final book in the Tupelo Grove series. I have not read the previous books and was able to follow the characters but if you can please dive in at the beginning of the series it will be worth it. This book is focusing on the resolution of situations that were further developed in the previous books and this one wraps them up. Hez and Savannah have been doing battle with every evil human being their small town and families can muster up. It cost them their marriage, sibling, child, business, parents. In this installation, they are trying to make right for all the wrong done by their families, save the University and protect it from her father, adopt her nephew and protect him from his grandfather and heal the many rifts within their families. So much packed into one book. Hez and Savannah—once married, then divorced, now reunited—are preparing for their second wedding while navigating the heart-wrenching process of adopting their ten-year-old nephew, Simon. Following the death of Savannah’s sister, her wish for Savannah to raise Simon is crystal clear. But that path is anything but smooth. Old family rivalries, buried secrets, and criminal entanglements resurface, threatening to derail the adoption and tear apart what Hez and Savannah have fought so hard to rebuild. The stakes are high, the emotions raw, and the suspense relentless. Themes of forgiveness as well as staying strong in the face of adversity and falling back on your faith. Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity.

This one was so good! That characters are real and raw. There was family drama, suspense, romance…this one is IT. I have loved each one of the books in this saga and this one delivered. Solid ending and great storyline. I won’t say too much because I don’t want to give the story away, but the authors took a few different storylines and meshed them together well and gave us all the answers we needed. So good. The narration was well done as well!

Readers of Colleen Coble must read this series!

This is a great wrap up to the series - clears up so much! Keeps you guessing what will happen next!

Really enjoyed the audiobook - the narrator did an excellent job of changing her voice for each character and adding just the right amount of emotion.

Hate that the series is over - will miss this one!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishing team for the opportunity to read and listen to this title in advance of its release.

Another hit from Colleen Coble! I love reading stories that I am also comfortable with my teen reading as well. I will say, I am comfortable allowing my younger preteen to read many Colleen Coble books, but this series we will wait until she is a bit older on this one due to the subject nature.

I love how themes of mystery, murder, and God are flawlessly intertwined creating an amazing story world. I also love the locations chosen for each series and this one is no different! Hearing so many Baldwin County, AL references is so fun as a girl from the South!

If you are looking for an exciting story full of twists and turns, mature romance, and reminders of God’s faithfulness, you are in the right spot!

The narration also greatly added to the story, making an already amazing story even better!

A pulse-pounding conclusion to the Tupelo Grove series. Savannah and Hez are taken through the wringer, quite literally, in an action based suspenseful experience that never really slows down until the final resolution brings it to a stop. Despite this, it is full of romance that reminds the reader of the power of love, while equally showing the ugliness of sin that results when power and revenge are pursued in earnest. I love the bond between Savannah and Hez and the hope of second chances. There is a thread of redemption woven throughout and a beautiful reminder that love does win. It was hard to watch Simon go through the confusion of finding his family and his place, but seeing Savannah and Hex fight for him sent a powerful message as well. I am sad to see the series wrap up as I have loved these characters but am very appreciative of the romantic suspense that continually points back to the Light and Truth.
I also received the privilege of listening to the audiobook version which was narrated wonderfully. Accents, pace, and cadence were captured perfectly to bring the story to life!
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley, and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

When Justice Comes is the final book in the Tupelo Grove Trilogy. I thought about speeding up the narration as I untangled this complicated web of a romantic and suspenseful mystery, but I stuck with the smooth cadence of the narrator. The sentimental part of me loved seeing a flash of characters from the author's Pelican Harbor and Sanctuary series so I'm hopeful that we haven't seen the last of Savannah, Hez and Simon. I think Augusta deserves her own book. I'm sorry to see this series end because the combination of intense drama and unending faith in the power of God leads to high quality story telling.

The narration was fantastic, as always adding another rich dimension to this story. There’s quite a bit about legal battles in this story and they were intense. I love the characters of Savannah, Hez and Simon. The setting is amazing as well. The action was fast paced and tense. Well written. I enjoyed the entire series. Highly recommend.

I was blessed with an ARC and ALC. Thank you, NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own and unbiased. An amazing Christian fiction suspense writing duo. I would love to seem then write another series together.

I am such a fan of this writing duo and I have read their writing compilations and can honestly say, they had me hooked from the get go! I listened to this story and the narration is fantastic. The storyline has come to its completion, and we see all the loose ends get tied up in a tightly written bow. There is a lot of action, suspense, and twists along the way that makes this book an up all nighter. I highly recommend to all action/suspense/romance lovers!

I was so excited to get an advanced copy of this book as I devoured the first two in the series and couldn't wait to find out what happens to all of the characters. From the first chapter, I was hooked on this book.
The twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end! I like that all of the storylines had a satisfying (though not always expected) conclusion. The characters of this series have such great depth and I found myself moved by so many of their stories.
As the third part of the series, this book delved more into the histories of the various characters as well as moving the story forward. Faith played a more prominent role as well, which was enjoyable.
Overall, it was another great book from Colleen Coble! Love!!!

The duo does it again!

As an avid Colleen Coble fan I wasn't sure how her books would be when she first teamed up with author, Rick Acker. I worried for nothing! The two are a dynamic team and play to each's strengths.

This is book #3 in the Tupelo Grove series and Hez and Savannah are so close to putting their life back together when the past and other forces will stop at nothing to tear them apart. This series has been an amazing ride and one you will want to read in order, for sure.

Can all the buried secrets be found in time for Hez and Savannah to have their happy ending and can they save their nephew from a fate that will only be one of nightmares? You will not regret this journey - you will however, if you never start.

When Justice Comes AUDIO by Colleen Coble and Rick Ackerman is the third in the series, but I listened as a stand-alone and it held up just fine. It takes place in a small Southern town and centers around Hezekiah “Hez” Webster and his former wife and current fiancee, Savannah. Their split had come after the drowning of their daughter, which had, at least in part, been Hez’ fault. He was supposed to be watching her. They had worked through the pain and were stronger than ever. Hez is a lawyer working for a justice project and Savannah is the local college’s president. There is a complicated history and feud between several families and it does nothing but escalate. Savannah’s sister had been killed in an accident and in her will had requested that Savannah raise her son, Simon. They were attempting to adopt him when Simon’s maternal grandfather countered with his own adoption request. It was really a nasty mess, full of criminals and danger, especially to Hez and Savannah.

Terrific characters, Hez and Savannah really are solid as they make discoveries that could break the strongest human heart. The plot is full of murder, betrayal, kidnapping, and general threats. It still managed to maintain a positive overall demeanor. There was plenty of activity, moving quickly from one crisis to the next. I am sorry I missed the first two books.

The name of the reader is not listed but she was good. She kept her cool in the worst moments rather than becoming hysterical. She was an excellent choice.

I was invited to listen to When Justice Comes by Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #ThomasNelson #ZondercanFictionAudio #ColleenCoble #RickAckerman #WhenJusticeComes

Once again Coble and Acker knock it out of the park with a suspensful who dunnit that keeps you on your toes until the very end. I didn’t realize it as I started this book, but this is the third in the series and picks up seamlessly where the second book left on. There were times I felt my blood boil and even had to set the book down at one point and come back because the characters were brought to life so well! I'd say that makes a book an A+ experience!

Wow! Talk about a roller coaster ride of emotions this book puts you through. You literally get sucked into the story and experience the highs and lows along side the characters, as they experience a long held grudge plot to rival all others and I loved every minute. This is the third book in the series and if like me you have only just joined don't worry it is so well written that I had no problems catching up and it does work as a standalone, however it did leave me asking how did I miss this series and were can I catch up. I think even having read this book and knowing how it turns out I would still like to go back to the beginning and experience it for myself, especially as I think it they are like this book then a lot happens. I loved the characters you were supposed to love like Simon, Savannah and Hez and my heart sunk every time the bad guys came out on top. The story was mostly about a custody battle for Simon but with revenge, betrayal, kidnapping, family and murder involved it was so much more. Definitely an author I will be reading a lot more of.

Jess might have died and wanted her son to be raised by her half sister Savannah but her father has something to say about that. He is taking them to court to get his grandson back. The Legare -Willard feud has been going on for years but now it threatens Savannah and Hez's happiness. Can they make peace and do right by Simon? Simon's father and even Savannah's own father only want what Simon's trust find can provide for them but with the Willard's it's something more and something a lot more dangers. Do they just want revenge on a Legare family member? If so will Simon be the one to pay the price?.
I really enjoyed the narrator. She did some good voices for the characters, I especially loved Simon's. She gave him a really good accent and higher voice, making him sound just like he was a young boy caught up in all the trouble.
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

What a gripping end to the trilogy of books by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. I’ve read all three books in the Tupelo Grove series. This series was my first time reading these authors. The series was definitely full of interesting characters and drama all throughout. The final book”When Justice Comes” is probably my favorite book in the series.

In this final book the characters, Savannah and Hez endure strife and conflict in the midst of rebuilding their relationship leading up to their marriage. The amount of suspense and surprise is engaging while the ultimate them of justice and forgiveness is prominent. I enjoyed the quality and content so well done in the audiobook version. It only made the suspense and action feel more intense.

I received this audio book as an advanced reader copy(ARC). Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook version prior to it release on March 3rd. The opinion here is my own honest review.

When Justice Comes is the conclusion of the three book series in the Tupelo Grove series. I do recommended reading the series in order, but feel free to live your live in chaos and jump in the middle. But you may miss some things.

This story brings a custody battle to the forefront. Hez and Savannah get ready to fight the Willard family for custody of her nephew, Simon. But danger lurks on every page, and there are a myriad of possible suspects. Who has the most to gain from silencing Hez and gaining Simon's trust?

I'm convinced Colleen Coble and Rick Acker write in their own genre! This to me is a total family drama more than a romantic suspense, although there's plenty of suspense to go around. Coble dives deep into family dynamics while Acker lends his legal knowledge to the plot. With two feuding families, an untrustworthy father, a blackmail scheme, dealing with loss, and the custody dispute, the characters deal with all the emotional fallout. I love the entire series! It's kept me hooked, and I love the collaboration between Coble's family drama style and Acker's legal thriller. It's a nice mix. I'm a little sad the series is ending.

I listened to the audiobook and it's fantastic. Great narration and it definitely adds to the story to listen to it.

Thank You Netgalley, Thomas Nelson, Colleen Coble and Rick Acker for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinion. This is the third book in the Tupelo Grove series and although you should read all of them in order, I also feel like if you picked this book up and read it by accident you would learn everything you need to know, I did have every emotion reading this book. Frustration, shock, heartbreak, anger, sympathy, all of it and I loved it. I do not like kids and violence in any scenario, but it had to be as it completed the story. I did enjoy the narrator Karen Peakes and would listen to other audiobooks narrated by her. I would also seek out these authors for future reads. Great finally to the Tupelo Grove series

When Justice Comes by Collen Coble and Rick Acker
This was so awesome! Suspense with every page! I really couldn’t put it down.
In this third and final novel of the Tupelo Grove series, Hez and Savannah find trouble around every turn. I enjoyed this because not every couple survives the loss of a child. They rediscover their love and attempt to rewrite their story in the midst of threats, danger, family secrets, and lies. They encounter darkness in every direction. Dark family secrets with deadly vendettas almost tear them apart.
Their nephew, Simon, becomes a pawn when the couple files for adoption and two other petitioners come forward. They endure a harrowing experience in family court.
There are so many things happening with so much suspense, you will stay up late reading!
I loved this because it made me feel with the characters. I was frustrated, angry, sad, and happy. That means I truly connected with the characters and the story. There is nothing better for a reader than being so immersed in a story that you laugh, cry, and scream with the characters.
I absolutely love the dogs! Marley and Cody are wonderful! Cody’s description just made me laugh out loud. I think it’s important to carry pets through a story if they are introduced as characters. The authors did a splendid job with this aspect.
The characters are well developed and very relatable.
Some interesting quotes:
“He had come to the end of the mission he set himself-really the end of his life- and he finally gripped the prize in his hands. But somehow, he held only ashes.” ( - this just spoke to me on several levels.)
“All your grades matter for college, and you’ll use math the rest of your life.” (As a parent I have used something similar.)
“She still wasn’t sure what breed to call Cody with his Chihuahua legs, oversized Great Dane ears, and greyhound body, His crooked Chesapeake Bay retriever tail added to his comical appearance.” (This made me love Cody even more!)
I have really enjoyed the whole series. Colleen and Rick did a phenomenal job co-writing; it was seamless to the reader!
I was privileged to have the ability to review both formats of the book. The narration on the audiobook was superb! The individual voices given to the characters further developed them even more than the writing. It gave them depth and personality beyond the page. 5+/5⭐
I would like to Thank Colleen Coble, Rick Acker, Thomas Nielson, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review an ARC of both the audiobook and the e-book of this novel. The opinions expressed here are my own.

The finale of the Tupelo Grove series featuring Savannah and Hez. These two have been through some of the most difficult times and situations imaginable. The couple has remained true to their faith throughout the series. In this final chapter of their story, the two face corrupt family, an uphill adoption battle and long buried secrets from the past. This was a proper conclusion to the story, very fast paced and enjoyable.

Karen Peakes was fantastic.

Great Christian mystery with romance and family drama.

This story is about two powerful families that have feuded for years in the same small college town. These two families have experienced lots of drama causing members to be in prison and the cemetery. There are so many characters in the book that you really like and want them to win in the end and the bad guys are really bad guys.

The audiobook was amazing and the narrator, Karen Peakes- helped build the suspense and made the story come to life. Karen Peakes adds so much to the story creating very tense moments with her timing and pauses while telling the story.

When Justice Comes is an intricately woven resolution to the Tupelo Grove series! Colleen Coble and Rick Acker blend the perfect amount of legal suspense, action, love, and faith in this book. I am so sad to see this series come to an end! So many plot twists, my mouth dropped opened more than once. But finally, Hez and Savannah get their happily ever after fighting evil, and after I wanted to strangle Hez myself a few times. Full of all kinds of ups and downs, it was better than any rollercoaster, I'd ever ridden.

Hez and Savannahs fight to happiness with their nephew just does not seem to come. The Willard family is still out to hang their guts and bring them down. Its a custody battle, people are falling dead, Hez is getting into trouble and there seems to be many forces at play.

A high octane book, its a race against time to get all the threads resolved and the loose ends tied, before Savannah and Hez can get their happily ever after.

A well done book and the narration was excellent.

I have not been able to lay down The Tupelo Grove series by Collen Coble and Rick Acker. This final book of the series, When Justice Comes, was my favorite. Just how costly will the greed and thirst for revenge be for each family? Can Savannah right the wrongs of the past and save her nephew from the clutches of hatred? Can Hez uncover the truth of the past and see justice for those murdered? Superb writing with stellar audio narration, combined with a fast-paced thriller plotline, will keep you listening to the very end. This is one sure to be devoured by fans of family sagas, mysteries, and crime thrillers.

I have read all of Colleen Coble and Rick Acker’s novels and I just added WHEN JUSTICE COMES to that stack! Thank you @tnzfiction for my finished print & audio copies of When Justice Comes, out March 3rd.

The novel brings back Savannah and Hez from the previous novels, and drops us right in line with the end of the previous novel. Fortunately, you can pick up any of these novels and jump right in as a standalone novel with the explanations and updates on the storyline.

Savannah and Hez fight for custody of her sister’s son Simon, battling his grandfather and the nefarious side of his family. So many unsavory characters to derail their battle, but both continue to hold firm in their faith that the right things will be done for Simon in the end.

I didn’t realize this was the end of the series…for the record, I am sad! I liked this series!

The third installment in the Tupelo Grove series by bestselling authors Colleen Coble and Rick Acker, When Justice Comes, starts out with edge of the seat suspense, and it doesn’t quit till the end of the novel. Hez and Savannah Webster are looking forward to not only get married to each other for the second time, but also to adopt Savannah’s nephew, Simon, after her sister’s murder. Unfortunately, Simon’s grandfather, Michael, who is sort of a mob boss, and Simon’s father, Eric file for custody, and it opens up a can of worms. The story is full of twists and turns as Hez and Savannah try to show that they will be the best parents to Simon, and while doing so, put themselves in danger, as well as family on both sides.

These two authors are talented storytellers, and the story is easy to follow. However, there are several sub-plots to keep track of, and readers will want to read carefully so as not to miss anything that is going on. Although this is the third installment, there is enough information on the characters that readers will find them believable. Savannah is a great protagonist, and well-developed. Hez and Simon, as well as the other supporting characters are also well-developed, and readers will find themselves on the edge trying to figure out just who the real bad guys are – even though most of them are actually family. The authors do an excellent job of capturing the culture of the south, and those who are lucky enough to listens to the audio book, will enjoy it more, since the narrator is excellent and is able to speak with different southern (and English since Simon went to boarding school in England) accents.

This series is well-written, fascinating, and highly recommended.

Another great addition to (and unfortunately the close of) the Tupelo Grove Series.
I love how these authors bring the Catholic Faith into the book along with love, despair and everything else...
Hez and Savannah are back with a wedding in the making; a hopeful adoption brewing; and a whole boatload of trouble in the wings...
There have been rifts and conflicts before, but wow! These two just keep getting in way over their heads in this one... and it seems like ALL the trouble is stemming from just one person (or family)...

Just when they get one problem taken care of... well, ten more rise up! And when you add the little tyke in to the mix... well, it's just not fun... or safe...

Had me on the edge of my seat for most of the book. But... sprinkled throughout I had my moments of laughter and joy too!

If you have not read this series before, I DO recommend reading it from book #1 as it will definitely make more sense that way! And when you do, please take the time to enjoy it! It's not every day you can get your claws on a delicious story like this one!

#WhenJusticeComes by @ColleenCoble and @RickAcker. Narrated beautifully by @KarenPeaks.

THIS ONE HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED YET, BUT, LOOK FOR IT SOON! RELEASE DATE IS: 3/3/26!

In this last book of the Tupelo Grove trilogy, Hez and Savannah are ready to start over and adopt her nephew Simon. As is usually the case, lots of issues arise to keep them from bliss. Part of Simon's paternal family is vying for custody and the truths that come out are truly shocking. I really hope this story gets continued. I love Hez and Savannah together and would love more of their story.

This is the final installment of the Tupelo Grove series. It is a suspense/mystery story that is not a standalone book. You really need to have read the first 2 books in this series to have appreciation or knowledge of what is going on in this one. Almost every scene is connected to a prior book. It doesn't have romance as a major theme as the main couple was reunited in an earlier book.

This book had twists and turns that I should have expected after having read the other books. I'm just not one to look for those, so I kept being surprised. I enjoyed that. This was a captivating story that kept me wanting to keep going and know what was going to happen.

I listened to the audio for the book and loved it. I was glad to hear that the same narrator read this story. She does a great job with voices, especially Simon. I love his sound! It felt like being with old acquaintances. (I don't want to call some of those characters friends!)

If you enjoy suspense that isn't scary or wont' keep you up at night, I'd recommend this series.

Thanks to Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the opportunity to listen to an advanced audio copy of the book via Netgalley. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.

When Justice Comes by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker brings their riveting trilogy to a powerful conclusion. In this final installment, Hez and Savannah are engaged and preparing to remarry after the painful issues that led to their divorce. At the same time, they’re hoping to adopt Savannah’s nephew, Simon. This should all bring a fresh start for their rebuilt family.

But nothing comes easily. Their plans are threatened when they discover they aren’t the only ones seeking custody. Shockingly, the competing petitioners are members of a crime family. While they have managed to avoid prosecution for their wrongdoing, Hez and Savannah know exactly what these individuals are capable of, and they are determined to keep Simon safe.

The battle for custody proves far more complicated than they anticipated. Hez is still recovering from critical surgery, and the strain of the legal fight only adds to the pressure. To make matters worse, other relatives who should have Simon’s best interests at heart seem driven by motives of their own.

Hez and Savannah have fought hard to find their way back to each other, and everything they’ve rebuilt feels precariously close to unraveling. The story is intense and layered with drama, yet it also carries a sharp emotional edge that grounds the suspense in something deeply personal.

I’ve truly enjoyed spending time with Hez and Savannah throughout this series, watching them navigate faith, forgiveness, and second chances. Because of their complicated history and the ongoing storylines, this trilogy is best read in order for the full emotional impact.

Many thanks to Thomas Nelson and to NetGalley for this ARC for review this is my honest opinion.

When Justice Comes by Colleen Coble and Rick Archer is the third in the Tupelo Grove series. It is another great collaboration by these two. I am happy to have continued the series! I suggest reading the previous books to avoid spoiling some of the important parts that are connected to this book. We return to Tupelo Grove University, where Savannah is the president of the university and caregiver for her nephew, Simon. After his mother's death, several family members are petitioning for Simon's custody.

Her ex-husband, Hez, and she have rekindled their love and plan to get remarried. But their past struggles get in the way of peace in their relationship. The dangerous people and past family hurts add intriguing elements to the story. The book has you guessing throughout. It is the final book in the series, and several questions get answered before it's over. I wish it wasn't over!

Karen Peakes, the narrator, did a nice job sharing the story. Thank you, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio, for this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a Christian Mystery Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the Tupelo Grove series. I have read the second book in this series before picking up this book, and I do feel you need to read this series in order to understand everything that is going on in this book. I read this book by listening to the audiobook, and I loved the audiobook. This book is filled with drama, suspense, and mystery. This book is fast paced with great characters. I loved this book so much, and I could not put it down. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Thanks NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and the authors for this ARC Audiobook! The following is my honest review of the book.

First off, it's just another great Colleen Coble book. There's suspense, there's romance, and it just makes me feel cozy.
-The characters are loveable - I've enjoyed Savannah since the first book and by this time Hez's character has grown on me. Simon is just a little boy who's been through a lot and sadly his eyes are opened to a hard reality in this book. What a wonderful family they make.
-There is suspense and intrigue throughout. It is a well paced out book and there were so many things I didn't see coming.
-There is romance but it is a Christian based book so nothing untoward happens, it's safe to recommend this book to almost anyone.

Although Christianity is always featured in Colleen's books she never hits you over the head with her/the characters' beliefs so even if you aren't a believer you should feel comfortable picking up any of her books.

I really liked the ending to this series. The last book was so full of twists as they wrapped everything up. I was glad that they were able resolve may of the things that came up in the first two books. There were several things that I did not see coming. A great book and great series overall. I really liked the narrator too.

Title: When Justice Comes

Genre: Christian Mystery Thriller, Women’s Fiction

I am a big Colleen Coble fan. This is number thirty –two for me!
Co Author -Rick Acker writes during breaks from his "real job" as a Supervising Deputy Attorney General in the California Department of
I was fortunate enough to have read this back in late December but I love a good audiobook plus the book was so good I knew I would enjoy hearing it. The narrator did a great job performing all the characters- Her performance of Simon with his Brush accent was much better than what my very vivid imagination heard!

Justice Savannah and Hez were both in Books #1 and #2 so I was looking forward to Tupelo Grove #3 which is the final this this great series.

Story starts where Book 2 left off. We know Hez and Savannah are planning to get married again! We know he had to have brain surgery and the recovery was long and worrisome. Now doing great although not 100% but excited about the upcoming wedding.
Additionally they are getting ready to adopt ten year old Simon whose mother Jessica Legare was Savannah’s half-sister was murdered.
Background – Their mother Marie was married to Pierre Legare and
Savannah is their first child. Jess is the child of Michael Willard and
Marie. There has been a ‘Legare-Willard’ feud going on for years.
Michael knew Marie was Pierre’s true love and he set out to win her.

Story stars with Simon out exploring the nearby sea and is excited with the sea cave he found. Savannah and Hez are both pleased with hearing Simon’s laughter as it is a welcome change as he has been so sad. But they soon hear him screaming as he is struggling in a rip current about 50 yard off shore. Hez knows Simon is in trouble and rushes to his rescue. Hez soon finds his energy is failing. Savannah has called the Coast Guard who are actually somewhat close. However, they find both under water. Both Simon and Hez rescued but need to go to the hospital to be checked out.

There is no doubt there Hez and Savannah love Simon and he loves them but the adoption isn’t a clear case. Simon’s father Erik Andersen comes into the picture, he as well as Grand Dad Michael want Simon but for other reason.
Michael is not a nice man but can be charming and has already fooled Simon. Savannah knows he is involved in criminal things and is a powerful man and usually gets what he wants.
Erik withdraws his petition for custody and sides with Michael.

Savannah and Hez love Simon and now they will be a family. Savannah and Hez’s young daughter Ella drowned several years also. So they as well as Simon have experienced a major loss.

Things get intense as Michael does not want his grandson to grown up a Legare and takes the custody to court.
There was so much going on in this story – Sure kept me glued!

I loved Ms. Coble’s ‘Dear Readers’ where she tells us of the research she and Rick did for this story. Ms. Coble tells us ‘the Dead Man’s switch ‘mentioned in the story is true!
BTW: I was pleased that the ‘Authors Notes’ were in this audiobook as many times Author’s Notes/Acknowledgements are NOT included.
The Book Club Discussion questions were only posted in the book not audio. .

I enjoyed this series and although it has ended I am hopeful Savannah and Hez pop up in another story. Additionally looking forward to these two authors continuing to write together as I sooo enjoy their stories,

Want to thank NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for granting me this audiobook.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for March 3, 2026.

I have been a fan of Colleen Coble for some time now, so I already love her books. Teaming up with Rick Acker was such a smart move, because the books that I've read from the two of them together have been excellent!

I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook of When Justice Comes. Karen Peakes did a wonderful job of narrating. I could listen to her read all day long, as her voice is so soothing.

The Tupelo Grove series is such a realistic picture of what happens when families feud for generations. The evil and wicked deeds that come from that feuding are absolutely reprehensible! But I love how these authors show how generational sins don't have to continue if you have Jesus in your life. Beautifully done! They've shown the depravity of man, but also given a clear picture of the hope that Christ gives.

A super suspense and mystery! Hez and Savannah are on an adoption battle over Savannah's nephew, Simon, with 2 other parties. This book grabs you and pulls you in from word one. It is the final book in the series and answers many questions from the previous two books. I love these books! They have just the right amount of suspense to keep you reading and coming back for more.

There are no swears, side characters drink alcohol, and level 1 kisses only. Dual POV.

The narrator does a wonderful job with the audio. It was easy to understand, listen to and kept me wanting more.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

They’ve done it again!! Acker and Coble make an unstoppable team, and this latest book set against the backdrop of Tupelo Grove is no exception! I was on the edge of my seat through the entire story, and it was the perfect way to wrap the trilogy revolving around Savannah and Hez. I’ll miss these characters, but I’m sure I’ll see more of them if I keep my eyes peeled. :)

Thank you Partner @tlcbooktours @tnzfiction for the #gifted copies

This book is quite the ride! I knew it would be a tough journey for Hez and Savannah but wow! The authors kept the action and suspense until the very last chapter. I enjoyed the hope and redemption given to many characters. Through all the ups and downs, I loved how Savannah and Hez kept the faith and stayed true to each other.

There were times while listening that I wondered if it would all work out. The stakes were so high, I enjoyed the countless twists and turns. The bad guys in the book are many and enjoyed their POV too.

The audio narrator, Karen Peakes, is fantastic. She is becoming one of my favorites. Peakes delivers the characters so well with her excellent range of voices.

This is book 3 in the Tupelo Grove series, and I would recommend reading the first two books in the series first. You will get a better appreciation of the characters and what they are fighting for if you do.

Wow! What a thrilling, satisfying conclusion to a fantastic series! When Justice Comes took me on a rollercoaster ride & didn’t let go. Colleen Coble & Rick Acker are a dream team when it comes to romantic suspense, & I’ve loved every minute of the Tupelo Grove series. Hez & Savannah have been through so much, & just when I thought they’d finally get their happily ever after, more gut-wrenching challenges arise. Along with the ups & downs of their relationship, past trauma, loss, & deep family secrets, they now face the possibility of losing custody of their nephew. As they dig into the past, long-buried secrets surface & they finally have a chance for justice, if they can survive.

Savannah Webster feels like her dreams are finally coming true; she’s the new president of Tupelo University, she & Hez have their dream home, her remarriage is months away, & they’re preparing to adopt their nephew Simon. But Simon’s biological father & grandfather, Michael Willard, are both vying for custody, not for his welfare, but for control of his trust fund. Savannah & Hez are forced to uncover long-buried secrets to prove they’re the best choice for Simon.

The deadly Legare-Willard feud has raged for decades, & digging up dirt on Michael stirs up a hornet’s nest. As they search for evidence, their lives are threatened & their trust in each other & the justice system is pushed to the limit. Meanwhile, the financial company Hez once outsmarted is still hunting for a way around his deadman’s switch. With danger closing in from all sides, it’ll take a miracle to survive & right the wrongs of the past.

I absolutely adore Hez & Savannah! Their second-chance romance, steadfast faith, & deep love for each other carries them through every trial, & I loved seeing them finally get the justice & ending they deserve. I also loved getting answers to Savannah’s complicated family history & seeing how past choices shaped the present.

The audiobook version is fantastic. The narrator does a fabulous job of bringing each character to life. I love her pleasant alto voice & the way she voices both male & female characters & even the little boy Simon. It’s an easy, enjoyable listen.

The action is nonstop in this surprising, powerful conclusion & I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Highly recommend! I definitely suggest reading the series in order, as each book builds on the last. I received an advanced listener copy from the publisher with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.

When Justice Comes is the third and final novel in the Tupelo Grove trilogy by writing partners Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. This is a sequential series following Savannah Webster, new president of Tupelo Grove University, and her fiancé, and ex-husband, Hezikiah Webster, attorney and part time professor.

As their wedding approaches, as does the adoption of Savannah’s nephew Simon and the finalized purchase of their seaside home, forces come in to play to prevent their new life beginning. As the adoption hearing approaches both Simon’s biological father and biological grandfather enter petitions for adoption as well, even though Savannah’s sister Jessica, Simon’s late mother, specifically designated Savannah and Hez as guardians for Simon. Shots are fired into their new home, Hez’s condo is broken into and he’s held at gunpoint, and that’s just the beginning.

In a series of events that include kidnappings, shootings, and so much more happens as the story unfolds. This is another well designed twisting plot set in the Alabama low country. The characters are drawn with depth and dimension. The story takes the reader on an exciting ride and the series concludes in a very satisfying manner. I did enjoy this book, and series, and do recommend it!
