I really enjoyed this book its a mix of Historical Fiction, and Who done it
I changed my mind many times about who the culprits were.
I first suspected Jonathan, then Max, then back again.
Mrs Ramsbottom was an unlikable character and I thought Rosemary was dubious at first.
It kept me guessing right to the end.
I did hope the dog was going to be found and helped.I
But it's worth a read

A story of intrigue and loyalties ! It’s trying to decide where people’s loyalties lie that’s the issue.
When Deirdre Rowan’s aunt writes suggesting she come to London for work she jumps at the chance , When she is accepted as receptionist at the Mayfair Ladies Club she decides to take up the offer to live in , this gives opportunity for her to volunteer as an ARP warden to help in the war effort.
The club welcome new manager Max Forster who draws interest, not only for his good looks. According to night porter mr Cragg the manager has secrets. The club committee is chaired by Edna Ramsbottom who appears to believe herself above all.

I enjoyed trying to work out what was going on behind the scene and what secrets were being kept. My favourite character was Deirdre for her strength, least favourite was Edna who looked down on the staff.
Look forward to more by this author.

I love a WWII story that is well researched and makes me feel as if I am there. I want the author to write characters that make me feel like I am one of them. This story did all that. Sometimes I feel guilty in loving a war story. But there is so much more to the story than that. They are emotional, struggles, friendship and pulling together. A well researched story can also teach us history. Loved this story!

A Mystery wrapped in a World War 2 romance, what more could you want? Set in London during the Blitz, we meet a funny, brave, determined, young woman called Deidre who is trying to do her part against the war. I thought she was incredibly relatable and enjoyed watching her deal with the dangers of the war whilst dealing with the dangers of the heart!

I thought the setting of London felt authentic and well researched. Molly Green is a fantastic writer and the mystery of the book kept me guessing until the end. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more of her books!
