The Pumpkin Spice Café meets A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping in this cozy, high spice rom-com featuring a bookseller witch and her aggravating but attractive new colleague.
As a witch with a specialty in book magic, there’s nothing more important in bookseller Lucy Ansari’s life than Crawley Books and Charles, the magical old man who runs it. So when Charles is injured, and his estranged grandson, Grayson, arrives from Ireland to “help,” Lucy can’t help but go into protective mode. She’s determined to hex him into leaving!
But the arrogant and irritatingly attractive Grayson is determined to stay. Except, much to his chagrin, Lucy refuses to part with his grandfather or the store. Grayson decides to use his own version of magic: vexing Lucy until she gives up her self-appointed role as Charles’ one and only protector.
As shenanigans ensue and sparks fly, Lucy and Grayson realize they share more than just the bookstore–like budding feelings for one another that they’re both desperate to suppress. If they can only stop vexing and hexing, it might just be time to take a chance on each other.

I completely adored Lucy, a bookseller witch who would much rather spend her days surrounded by stories than her own family. Her carefree, magical energy is a wonderful contrast to Grayson’s starchy, more reserved demeanor. The tension between them is palpable as Lucy fears Grayson is trying to take away her beloved bookstore—and her connection to his grandfather, Charles. Meanwhile, Grayson is struggling to get out of his own way to rebuild a relationship with his grandfather while navigating his complex feelings for Lucy.
The slow burn in this story is total foreplay. Neena Noon masterfully builds the tension until it leads to some seriously spicy, high-heat moments that made this impossible to put down.
If you enjoy the "enemies-to-lovers" trope with a magical twist and plenty of spice, this is a must-read. I highly recommend it for fans of cozy, witchy rom-coms

To Vex and to Hex was such a fun romance. I love a good enemies/rivals to lovers or a grumpy/sunshine book, and this one delivers. When Charles, the owner of Crawley Books, has a medical emergency and must be hospitalized, his estranged grandson Grayson returns for the first time since Grayson’s childhood. Grayson encounters Lucy at his grandfather’s bookstore. Neither Grayson nor Lucy are expecting to see each other and their initial encounter makes both of them feel on edge.
Both Grayson and Lucy feel misunderstood, unseen, and unappreciated in certain familial relationships, and those sore spots at times help and hurt them in understanding one another. While they push each other, their pull toward one another is also magnetic.
I loved the chemistry and contentiousness between Lucy and Grayson, the way magic is incorporated into their contemporary world, and what they bring out in each other that they each need to overcome. I very much enjoyed this magical realism romance and will recommend it to friends.

I really enjoyed To Vex and to Hex. It struck the perfect balance between cozy and engaging, making it such a fun and comforting read while still keeping me invested in the story. One of my favorite parts was the magic system — it felt unique and well thought out, and I loved how seamlessly it contributed to the overall cozy atmosphere of the book.
The found family aspect was especially endearing. The relationships between the characters felt genuine, and I really enjoyed watching them grow and evolve over the course of the story. The emotional connections added so much warmth and heart to the book.
Overall, this was a charming and immersive read that I had a hard time putting down, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy fantasy with heart, magic, and lovable characters.

Lucy is a witch who works in a bookstore - Charles bookstore. Charles had unfortunately slipped down the stairs and was in the hospital recovering. While he was recovering his grandson Grayson who is a professor decided to take a sabbatical to run the bookstore and take care of him. Lucy crashes into Grayson when they meet outside the bookstore and she uses her magic so her coffee doesn't spill or her books. Grayson is in shock at how blatantly obvious she is about using her magic in public. Lucy starts using magic to help customers in the book shop to find their perfect book. Grayson catches her using her magic once again. Grayson and Lucy spend their time working together bickering and Lucy likes to hex Grayson whenever she can.

This book was a warm hug on a cold day. It was so cozy and made me want to drink a nice, warm chai latte and eat yummy baked goods. I loved the characters in this book and the yearning was just so good. This was a beautifully written book and it's the perfect book to get you in the fall mood. After reading this book I want to make Witch Wine in my bathtub and have a birthday party.

I want to live inside of Crawley books - do you think Charles would adopt me?
I loved everything about this book - the slow burn, the chemistry between Lucy and Grayson, her book magic, her relationship with Charles - I want to just teleport inside this world and be her best friend. It's deliciously spicy, there's good conflict that to me, personally, did not feel repetitive. I also loved the growth each character had and the emotional turmoil that went along with it, both good and bad.
Also the spice? 10/10. No notes.
I would recommend it to any book lovers that like a little magic, spice and romance!

The coziest!!! I need a pumpkin chai latte stat!
Yes, I'm reading this in advance, but this book definitely got me in the mood for fall and everything cozy.
This will be a perfect read to put on some fluffy socks, a heavy blanket, and a yummy latte and enjoy the ride (if you have a fire to sit by....even better).
Our characters are two flawed and deeply hurt people. Never feeling like they are enough, always hopefully (yet wary) that the next person won't let them down.
Their chemistry comes off the page, their banter out giggle-out-loud worthy, and the feels definitely get to ya in certain parts!
So cute!
Overall: highly recommend
