Description
A plot is brewing between the adventure and romance aisles.
When visiting Twig’s Traveling Tomes, customers will get the exact book they need, even if it isn’t the one they want. As for the proprietor and renowned Book Witch, Louella Twig lives her life sequestered with her stories, just as she likes it.
When devilishly handsome rogue Everett Sharp stumbles in looking to remove some handcuffs—closely followed by Louella’s former tutor, whose prized grimoire has been stolen—her literary sanctuary is fully upended. Only Louella’s magic can locate the grimoire, and teaming up with Everett is her best chance at retrieving it . . . but how can she trust that the man behind the wolfish grin isn’t interested in stealing the book for himself?
With a host of friends old and new, Louella sets off on an adventure she never thought she’d take—and starts to realize that, just like her books, what matters most has always been what’s under the surface.

This might actually be my first romantasy read. And wow, it was such a good one. The balance between romance and fantasy was… I don’t want to say perfect, but something very close to perfect.
The characters were so well done. I loved all of them — well, except the villains, obviously. But I could genuinely picture this book as a Pixar or Disney adaptation, seeing this magical world come to life with both mythical creatures and humans.
I don’t read a lot of fantasy, but one of my goals this year is to read more of it. And I’d describe this one as more of a mild fantasy book. It’s not heavy on multiple worlds, wars, or extreme danger. It’s perfect for someone who doesn’t usually read fantasy but still wants to enjoy it. And I really, really did.
The romance was slow burn and clean, and you could feel the chemistry between the FMC and MMC from the start. I loved watching the friendships grow and seeing each character come into their own throughout the book.
Overall, this book had all the elements of a feel-good read; sweet, light, and enjoyable. The plot developed beautifully. The writing, dialogue, and scenes were immersive. Everything was mythical, cosy, and magical.
I would absolutely recommend this book. 💯☺️
What a cozy and fun adventure! I loved it! This one was so charming, whimsical, and heartwarming!
The world was fun and full of magic but what really made the story was the characters.
I loved Louella Twigs! She was such a great character! I really enjoyed her journey and overcoming her past!
Everett was such a fun one! I love his charming roguish ways! He was perfect and so much fun!
The two of them together were so cute! I enjoyed the banter and sweet moments.
The other band of characters were fun to read and really made a great band of unlikely heroes and a wonderful found family!
Add to your tbr if you love; cozy vibes, whimsical magic, fantasy creatures, found family, wonderful books, banter, quest, slow burn, band of unlikely heroes, adventure, low stakes, and more!

I preordered this book weeks ago for the cover alone and can now happily say after receiving the arc that the story is just as amazing as the cover! The plot was well written, balanced, and had me laughing out loud at different points. The characters are all adorable, although you should expect some cheesiness at times.
Even the side characters were well developed, especially Louella’s parents. My one gripe is that I wish the villains had a bit more to their story. Honestly though that was a small thing compared to how great the rest of my experience was.
I love Louella and Everett! I already can’t wait to reread this book when I get the physical copy, 5 stars all the way. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a cozy adventure; the stakes were low and the characters were compelling.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this early copy! All opinions are my own.
When I first heard about Twig’s Traveling Tomes I knew I needed it in my life. I was very fortunate when I received the ARC for it.
Gryffin Murphy invites us to go on an adventure with Luella our main character and what an adventure it is. Luella meets a scoundrel, has her old mentor beg for help, gets her book store hijacked, and that’s only the beginning.
This cozy romantic adventure fantasy will have you smiling from start to finish. With fantastic characters, adults trying to make friends, and a silly little quest I think Twig’s Traveling Tomes will become a comfort read to many.

Unfortunately dnf thought not because of the book itself but I found the format really hard to read. I'd definitely pick up a physical copy to read instead.

Twig’s Traveling Tomes is a delightful cozy fantasy romance following a book witch, Twig, and her magical bookshop. When Twig’s former mentor has a magical book stolen, Twig must team up with a handsome thief, some quirky dwarves, and the elderly wizard. The crew embarks on a series of quests to reclaim the missing pages, which have been scattered around the kingdom, culminating in a magical fair.
This book is so cozy and delightful. The book spends time on the romance and the worldbuilding, but also takes time to describe the coziness of a bath. The book settles into the found family elements and embraces a number of different relationships within the crew. I loved the cozy elements in this book, which really leaned into the “high fantasy - low stakes” core of a cozy fantasy. The stakes for this story are about assembling a book after its theft, rather than some kind of larger world-ending stakes prevalent in much of the fantasy genre.
The romance plotline was stronger than I expected. The story never gets explicit, but there are detailed kissing descriptions and allusions to more. I’m used to cozy fantasy using the romance as a subplot, but this book definitely would best be described as a cozy fantasy romance, as the romance feels like a significant part. The romance itself is well done, with lots of cute moments. The third act conflict is just the right degree of conflict for a cozy fantasy, and there were lovely little romantic moments that made me giggle and smile.
I love a cozy fantasy, and as the genre has expanded, I feel like a lot of publishers have started labeling things as cozy that are not. This book does not have that problem. This book is cozy, and sweet, with an engaging romance and a fun adventure. Twig’s story is delightful and engaging and a lot of fun, and though I assume that Murphy plans on finishing the story here, I would be thrilled to read more story about Twig and Everett and their friends on their adventures.
If you’re looking for something high stakes, with extremely detailed world building and complex magic systems, this is not the book for you. If you don’t like romance in your fantasy, I don’t think this is for you, either. But if you’re looking for a cozy book with a strong romance, a delightful found family and a fun adventure, this is absolutely the right book.
Thank you to Bindery Books for this advanced reader copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

In Griffin Murphy’s upcoming "Twigs' Traveling Tomes," readers will step into a cozy fantasy brimming with charm. The story follows a found family on a quest to retrieve missing pages from a wizard’s tome, using a magically traveling bookstore as their vehicle. While it flirts with a “cozy heist” vibe, it stays snugly in the realm of heartwarming adventure. The characters are engaging, the stakes are gentle, and the romance is a subtle fade-to-black thread. Ultimately, it’s an enjoyable, low-spice tale that promises readers a journey as comforting as a favorite, well-loved book.

This story is gorgeously funny, deliciously sweet and an absolute adventure from start to finish. It’s one that you’ll want to read again and again just to enjoy the feeling of being among friends in a magical world.
Louella Twig is a witch with a special type of magic that means she feels exactly the right book that is needed for each person at just the right time. She runs a cosy bookshop caravan that can magically transport to different parts of the kingdom. She enjoys her quiet, reclusive life. That is until she meets a roguishly handsome ex-thief and an endearingly forgetful previous tutor who throw her into an entirely unexpected quest to recover a stolen tome.
I love everything about this story, the funny one liners that made me laugh out loud, the sweet and tender moments, like when Louella realised that the book creatures turn into pages because they feel safe in her hands and the cute little haregon familiar. I love the varied cast of characters that become a part of this adventure and the interesting places they visit.
The thing I loved most about this story is the way Everett is instantly captivated by Twigs and each time he learns more about her his affection only deepens. She can be grouchy or irritated, reluctant or reserved, and none of that is off-putting to him, he just seems to like her more. He may be infuriating her with his playful flirtatious manner but his constant appreciation for all sides of her personality is just magical.
Each chapter feels like curling up in a comfy armchair with a steaming hot drink and a familiar book. The writing is beautifully poetic and the characters are funny and lovable from the start. This was exactly the book I needed at just the right time.
this was SO fun and whimsical!! I loved the coziness of this fancy book and the feelings I got while reading it. It was like jumping into another world! Thank you so much for this opportunity to read your book!

This book is the quintessential cozy fantasy! Lovable and diverse characters, a fantastical new world, adventure and romance all buttoned up into a cozy story. Louella Twigs is a relatable character, and her story meeting found family and overall development will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. I struggled a bit with the mismatch of made up and known names, and I still don’t know how to pronounce the grimoire’s name, but I loved reading this tale of magic and adventure.i would give this book a 4.5 stars.
So, so cute! Such a fun little read about a wandering bookshop witch. Honestly reminded me of a little DND party with friends. The writing was well done, the story was adorable, and the characters were just great. Very slow burn between the FMC, Twins and the MMC, Everett, but the pay off was so worth it.
Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get lost in their own cozy little world for a few hours.
DELIGHTFUL!!!
A wonderfully cozy fantasy romance featuring adventure, lots of humour, amusing innuendo, BOOKS, magic, and fabulous creatures.
I loved this and it was a wonderful read from cover to cover!
While I have a hard time reading romantasy novels, this one made me see why people love the genre!
The characters were well written and had great development, there was actual story which was great and the romance, while slow burn, was done in such a way it didn't feel like a slog to read

This was adorable! I love cozy fantasy and this one was cute. The MMC kind of gave Disney vibes. Twig was very likeable and her shop sounded awesome (loved how it moved). Also,
I loved the quotes at the beginning of each chapter.

This is EXACTLY what I want from a cozy fantasy. Interesting world, fun characters, developing relationships and low stakes. I loved the main character so much, and really liked what the book had to say about stories and how they shape us. I also loved that there was a unique and fun magical world (with air pirates!) that didn't require bucket of info-dumping and explanation and was just seamlessly woven into the plot. Very slow burn, closed-door romance elements. That's exactly how I like it. Also liked the inclusive vibe. Got a kick out of the cute 'quotes' from relevant books to start every chapter. If this becomes a series, I will absolutely read on. So much fun.

If your in the mood to laugh, this is absolutely the book you need to read. it was cheesy in the BEST way possible. this book absolutely charmed me so much. it was entertaining, cozy, thrilling, and romantic. with absolutely wonderful characters, a found family you truly want to root for, and mutual pining so bad i wanted to smash their faces together and scream "just kiss already" and then squealed when they did! it's a fantastically refreshing take on a fantasy quest, with a very reluctant hero who eventually realizes she might actually be enjoying herself. for fans of "I'm afraid you've got dragons" and "The House Witch" this is a new Cozy adventure you won't want to miss!

Twig’s Traveling Tomes is the coziest of cozy fantasy.
It is filled with charming and quirky characters, low-stakes yet still gripping conflict, and deliciously simple romance.
Murphy’s world is so magical. And, if you’re someone who loves books and cozy bookshops, it will no doubt become one of your favourite world’s to be a part of.
4.5🌟
Adorable cozy romantasy. Fun characters all throughout the story. Flynn Rider vibes from the mmc (with a hint of Kristoff).
I love books that have books, so a traveling bookshop sounded too fun to pass up. I enjoyed this from the first page. It has an entertaining meet-cute, snarky book magic, found family friends, humor throughout, and of course a quest to take them all over the place. I really enjoyed the banter between the fmc and mmc. The book titles were probably my favorite part aside from the quirky cast of characters. In general I loved all of it.
Thanks Bindery Books | Cozy Quill for sending me an Arc to review.
This was a really fun, cozy, romantasy romp that had be squealing and kicking my feet for most of the novel. I devoured the first 60% in one sitting. I loved the crew that came together around Twig and her shop. (Arturo is my favorite. I would read a novel of just him and his special someone that comes along later. They are my favorite forever and always.) The story itself was structured in a very simple quest format that I felt suited the narrative well. I enjoyed the episodic feel, and the level of awareness the characters brought to their adventures. I giggled so much throughout this story. The writing was very tight and engaging, and I loved how whimsical Twig's magic was. I mean, magic of books? Come on. It was such a lovely story to sweep me away, and truly encompassed the idea of "escapist" fantasy.
That 60% mark was, however, where the story started to lose me a bit and I began to have some complaints. Everett felt a little /too/ perfect, and I began to realize that for all my delight in the first half, I felt like the two didn't really know each other. They were quite insta-lovey. Which again, at the beginning I didn't care, but the further I got into the story, the more questions I had--and the more I wished Twig was asking questions as well. There were also a few world building questions I had, especially around how her shop runs. How do patrons know she's around if she doesn't keep a consistent schedule? Choosing where to go for the day in a moment by moment basis felt rather convenient to the plot and not super believable.
All in all, I had a really fun time. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a fun, bookish romance filled with magical adventures and a fun quirky cast of friends!

This is deff my favorite book so far of the year. I LOVED this cozy fantasy so much. The characters, the adventures, the wholesome romance, the found family, the cute familiar, the traveling bookstore, all of it was perfect! It's been a long time since I've read a book that I wished would never end. Thank you Gryffin Murphy for this incredible read.

I will start by saying that I do not normally read in this genre but I am thrilled that I took the chance to read and review this book. This story is well-written, the worlds and creatures the author created are amazing, and I fell in love with all of the characters. What a wonderful, feel-good story! I finished this story in a day and not only did it warm my heart, I found myself laughing at the adventures and antics as the story wore on. It is a peaceful escape from the modern world that can be so heavy - this book swept me away to lands and lovable characters that made me smile. The characters were truly wonderful and the found family trope filled me with joy. Now all I want is a magical, traveling book store filled with whispering books where I can drink tea and laugh with friends. Well done! Highly recommend!
«Twig’s traveling Tomes» is everything you think, hope and want it to be. It’s Studio Ghibli («Howl's moving castle»), Doctor Who, «Tangled», and a bit of Pirates of Caribbean on top. And a bit Brendan Fraser, if you know what I mean. All of this smashed together with so much cozy my feet were in a permanent giggle-movement mode. This story is what every woman in her 30s wants for her inner child, her newer self and every booklover ever. I want that traveling bookshop, I need one, and the way it’s written I found myself believing it WAS real. Just like Narnia.
I admit that at first I was scared, I was scared that it wouldn't be cozy at all, and turn into another fantasy trope with a throne on it. You fall in love with these characters at once. They are written so differently that you cannot help but feel a bond form with them as you read. I have no idea how Gryffin managed to become such a wordsmith, but I am here for it.
Instead I got to experience what love feels like without all the angst. It was the most safe and comforting feeling I’ve had reading a debut-author. Gryffin is going places, and I cannot wait to find out what kind of adventures she will write for Twig.
I am forever grateful to the publisher, the author and NetGalley for letting me provide my honest feedback. I am hooked in.

Twig's Travelling Tomes is a wonderful journey full of adventure, sweet romance, and unique magic! It’s a book with such lovely writing, humor, and very enjoyable characters 💕
This story is full of lessons about redemption, growth, finding yourself, and being brave to let others in, as well as having the courage to try again. I thoroughly enjoyed this and definitely recommend to all my cozy fantasy lovers out there✨

🖤Thank you Bindery Books and NetGalley for this eARC!
I absolutely loved Twig's Traveling Tomes! It was such a cute, magical and adventurous cozy read. I loved our little band of characters as they went on their quest and the story was so cute. Louella was such a lovable main character and I loved that she had an enchanted magical traveling bookshop.
Immediately, I’m in love with the writing style. The voice is whimsical and humorous. I’m sold. Then we meet Everette who is dashing and mischievous and exactly the kind of chaos we need for an adventure! Off we go on a quest to find the antimagicwhatsit - and it’s a great time. You will giggle and kick your feet and have your heart squeezed many times. A new fave genre for me and this is my first read of cozy adventure fantasy. Bravo!
This was just so perfect for me, I absolutely loved this. I’m finding it really difficult to write a review when you really have no notes. Romance? Loved. Found family? Adored. World building/lore? Top notch. This could be the yard stick for measuring cozy fantasy. If you’ve found you want to get into cozy fantasy but the ones you’ve read have been a little too low stakes? Give this one a try, it’s perfectly balanced between story line and cozy elements.
I like that this story is centered around Twig and all of her different elements as this is really her story of growth and change. Twig constantly feeling pulled in all directions as folks seek out her special gift (literally across 4 lands) we see her finally get a supporting cast. The romance is really great in that Everett is kind of her exact opposite and everything she needs. He’s rakish and funny and absolutely obsessed with her (as he should be). This was funny and magical and just made me feel all the warm and fuzzies.
I really can’t say enough good things about this. Absolutely a new favorite.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author/publisher for an early copy of this book in exhange for an honest review.
A cozy, heartfelt, magical journey about a daydreaming book witch who is suddenly thrust into an unexpected adventure. Louella Twig is a brilliant but shy witch who spends her days finding the perfect book for her customers. She owns a traveling bookstore and seldom interacts with anyone outside her store. A creature of habit, Louella enjoys solitude, a predictable schedule, and the company of her beloved books. She doesn’t think life can get any more exciting, until one day it’s turned upside down when she encounters a stranger hiding in her store. After an unexpected visit from an old mentor, Louella and the curious stranger embark on an adventure she only imagined existed in her books.
This story felt like a big, warm hug: playful, whimsical, and heartwarming. Louella and her companions are hilarious, and the romance that erupts in the story is adorable. This book is a comforting read that you can enjoy in the quiet moments of your day. It’ll have you smiling at the endearing characters and wishing you owned your own bookstore in the woods. The cottagecore aesthetic gives the story a peaceful, charming appeal. This is a great book if you’re looking to get lost in a slower-paced world filled with laughs and enchantment.

Twig's Traveling Tomes was a very cozy romance read!
The concept of the book was really good, I did feel at times the world building was lacking. It would of been good to have gotten more into how the book shop traveled. It felt like we got the very basic needs to know of how things worked.
The story felt very light and heartfelt, light on the romance but it was a insta love/slow burn if you're into that!
Thank you again for the ARC.
I forgot how much I love cozy fantasy until I picked this book up. I was so sad when it ended, because I wanted to live in this little world forever. Twig's travelling bookshop was such a fun place to be, and her band of merry misfits (who fit together perfectly) made every moment enjoyable. Whether your rooting for Midge and Oliver, or Louella and Everett, or Fernalorn and Arturo, you find yourself fully invested in the best way possible.
I wish I had the magic of being able to find the perfect book for every person, or lived in a world where someone did!
Twig’s Traveling Tomes is absolutely delightful and one of the best cozy romantic fantasy books I have ever read! This one is for fans of Howl's Moving Castle, the video game Tiny Bookshop, and those who have a soft spot for scoundrels with a heart of gold 💛 (Also as a fellow curly girl, it was lovely to read about a book witch with big brown curls!)
Twig's Traveling Tomes tells the story of Louella Twig and her magical traveling bookshop. Louella has a very special kind of magic. The moment customers walk into her shop, she can tell you the exact book you need. Maybe not the book you *want*, but the exact book you need in that precise moment, which has actually led to some awkward encounters in the past for Louella! But it's a pretty rare gift! In fact, it’s so rare that many other witches don’t fully believe that her source of magic comes from her books and have cruelly declared Louella and her magic “defunct”. This has not stopped Louella though from sharing her gift with folks in need of a good book across the Four Realms and she has gained a lot of success with her traveling (or rather transporting) bookshop!
Now, despite the fact that Luella's bookshop is a magic *traveling* bookshop, she is a bit of a homebody and likes to just keep to herself and her stories. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when she begrudgingly agrees to join her former tutor, the kooky but loveable wizard, Feralorn, and the dangerously handsome and charming former thief, Everett Sharp, on quest to track down Feralorn’s missing grimoire about magical creatures.
This book is full of magic, romance, adorable and fantastical creatures (e.g. a bunny with dragon wings that sneezes flames, magic glowing lunar moths, etc.) and a super cozy and sweet found family!
Yes this book is a romance; a lovely tender romance that will have you giggling and kicking your feet! But it is also a love letter to authors and readers alike. It celebrates the magic that happens when an author pours their heart and soul onto the page and shares their stories with their readers. So it is no surprise that this book is dedicated to its readers.
Thank you to bindery books and netgalley for the digital ARC.
And thank you to Gryffin, this book is a joy and a blessing!
Twig's Traveling Tomes jumped onto my reading list the moment I saw the ADORABLE cover art illustrated by Midori Kusano.
The book serves up a harmonious concoction of "cosy fantasy" elements—a heartwarming found-family dynamic, a whimsical setting, and a protagonist who discovers her true self through a dreamy magic system where books serve as a guiding power!
Although some segments felt slightly lagging, those slower moments paid off meaningfully by the end.
However, the romance lacked a certain spark and felt secondary to the vibrant world-building.
Ultimately, with a lore spanning four distinct kingdoms and a memorable cast of characters, this world has immense potential for expansion and is an ideal fit for anyone seeking a low-stakes, high-charm read.
*Many thanks to Bindery Books, Gryffin Murphy & NetGalley for the Advance Reader Copy*
A charming cozy fantasy for anyone who's ever dreamed of a magical bookshop.
Louella Twig is a book-loving witch whose enchanted traveling bookstore wanders across four kingdoms, finding readers who need it most. When a powerful grimoire is stolen, Louella is pulled from her cosy routine into a quest alongside a charming rogue, her former professor, and a gnome companion.
The bookstore itself is the star — warm, imaginative, and almost alive. The worldbuilding is wonderfully rich, and the found family dynamic adds real heart as this unlikely group slowly bonds on the road.
The characters could be a little more distinctive, but the magical atmosphere more than makes up for it. Perfect for fans of cosy adventures, whimsical settings, and stories about finding where you belong.

3.8/5
A whimsical world filled with funny and adorable characters, all wrapped inside a cozy fantasy story.
Cozy fantasies are often a hit or miss for me because of their slow-pace and low-stakes plots, but I ended up liking this one a lot. Some parts were admittedly a bit slower than I prefer, but the chemistry between the characters and their funny dialogue kept me entertained throughout.
One of my favourite running jokes in the book was the banter and arguments about choosing a proper team name. Those moments were so precious and charming. Their adventure to recover the missing pages of the grimoire isn’t particularly dangerous, but it is filled with plenty of heartwarming and amusing moments.
My favourite aspect of the book is definitely Twig’s magic. It feels unique and imaginative, and I would absolutely love to visit her magical bookstore. The cozy atmosphere of this story actually reminded me a lot of the video game “Tiny Bookshop”. If a collaboration between the two ever happened, I would be the happiest gamer in the world.
The characters are vivid and likeable, and none of them felt annoying or frustrating to read about. While there are villains in the story, many of them serve more as comic relief than serious threats.
If I had to choose a least favourite aspect, it would probably be the romance. I like both Twig and Everett, but their dynamic with the rest of the team is so entertaining that their romantic moments felt a little dull in comparison.
Overall, I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy cozy fantasy, anyone looking for a palate cleanser after a darker read, or anyone who simply wants a comforting story that can lift their mood.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bindery Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Sometimes you just need a book that is charming and cosy, with a host of characters that you want to adventure with across strange lands. Twig's Traveling Tomes is just that book. Gryffin Murphy has created a fabulous story that draws the reader in and takes them along on a magical journey to find the pages of a grimoire that have been scattered across four kingdoms.
Louella, the Book witch, has a power that appears to be quite unique - she draws magic from books, from the written words that sit within their covers. It is a magic that caused her to be named defunct as no one really thought it was a real magic. Despite this, she has made quite a name for herself across the Four selling books from her bookstore, books that are exactly what each reader requires. Thought she has had quite a great deal of success, Louella has not realised how lonely her existence has been, until Everett, ex-thief and a charming rogue, enters her shop and life. Within no time at all, they are engaged in a quest for her past mentor, Feralorn, seeking to find the many pages of his grimoire which was stolen and torn asunder. Louella quickly finds herself the unwitting leader of a growing band of characters all helping to save the day.
Gosh, this was fun in so many ways. The overt use of a range of romantic tropes was very entertaining. You wanted to cheer as each member of the crew became part of the team, and it was really super how Everett became an integral part of Louella Twig's life. It was slow burn, but in the best possible way. This story is one for anyone who wants to slip back into their imaginative childhood in a grown up way - it was just a joyful story.
So glad that Netgalley and the publisher allowed me the chance to read this arc.

I do love a good cozy fantasy, especially one with books, and this book checks every box!
Louella Twig is a Book Witch - her magic comes to her from books - and everyone who enters her bookshop gets the book they need. It might not necessarily be the one they came in for, but it is the one they need in their lives at that point in time.
When Everett Sharp (who in my mind reminds me of Flynn Rider - he really is just an adorable rogue) enters the bookshop in need of a book to help remove handcuffs, and then her former tutor ends up in the shop at the same time, Twig's life is never going to be the same again. Her former tutor's grimoire has been stolen, and he needs Twig to help him find it.
This was a lot of fun to read. I loved Twig and Sharp - they have great banter, and as they go along their journey, they end up gathering more companions. There wasn't a single character that I disliked, or found annoying. I particularly loved meeting her mothers - they really are fabulous.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bindery Books for the opportunity to read this book!
This book is absolutely perfect. I’m struggling to find the right words to describe how much I enjoyed reading it. It made me laugh out loud, and I was so sad when I finished the last chapter. If you love cozy romantasies with lots of magic and adventure, you NEED to add this to your TBR.
This book was cozy perfection! The world was immerse, the characters well fleshed out and their relationships felt realistic. The writing was beautiful and easy to get lost in. Im recommending this to my bookclub
4.5/5
This book was filled with just so much whimsy and sweetness and I just loved it. It was like doing a minor side quest in a DnD campaign. It was such a lighthearted and fun read that I would highly recommend.
The characters were fun and engaging, each with their own unique personalities which added to the overall group. The interactions between all the characters was my favorite part if this book, especially the banter between Everett and Louella. No one in this book was incredibly deep but I don't really expect that in a book like this and all the characters were nicely layered so that they weren't flat.
This story was well-rounded and had little moments sprinkled throughout that didn't seem like they mattered in the moment but made more sense later on. There was one moment with the magic door knobs near the end which didn't fully make sense to me with how I understood the magic to work but maybe it was just me.
Overall, I had a blast reading this book and was chuckling throughout most of it. If you are looking for a cozy and light read, this is your book.
Twig’s Traveling Times by Gryffin Murphy is a delightful cozy fantasy that blends adventure, heart, and a deep love of books into one enchanting story.
At the center is Louella Twig, a book-loving witch who runs a magical traveling bookstore that never stays in one place for long. The shop itself is one of the novel’s greatest strengths—its shifting shelves, mysterious doors, and instinct for matching the right book to the right reader create a warm, immersive atmosphere that feels both whimsical and purposeful. The idea that stories hold transformative magic is woven beautifully throughout the narrative.
When a powerful grimoire is stolen, Louella is drawn beyond the comfort of her beloved shop and into a journey across the four kingdoms. Along the way, she’s joined by a charming rogue, her former professor, and a loyal gnome companion. The adventure introduces a vibrant world filled with magical creatures, lively settings, and just enough intrigue to keep the pages turning.
One of the most satisfying aspects of the book is its found family dynamic. Watching this unlikely group grow closer as they face challenges together adds emotional depth to the story. There’s also a gentle thread of romance and self-discovery that complements the adventure without overpowering it. Themes of belonging, acceptance, and courage shine through in a way that feels sincere and uplifting.
Overall, Twig’s Traveling Times is a comforting, imaginative read perfect for fans of cozy fantasy, magical bookstores, and character-driven adventures. It’s a story about finding your people, trusting your path, and believing in the quiet magic that books can bring into our lives.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review..
Louella uses her magic to run a moving bookshop, but her cherished routine is interrupted when she has to help her old mentor retrieve the pages of a rare grimoire, along a thief who is very charming.
This book is a low-stakes fantasy adventure, and the romance is heartwarming; the character arc of the female main character is well done. There were some characters that at first I did not like, but by the end of the book, every single one of them is very dear to me.
Also, this is the first time that I read an "about the author" and thought "I want to be friends with this person". I'm so glad Gryffin Murphy wrote this book. I hope to read more, and I hope you befriend a flock of crows.
Thank you netgalley for the ARC.
This book was mostly just silly, good fun with unlikely friends on a quest, traveling about in a mobile bookshop with a book witch! This book was a no spice love story, a bit heavy on the innuendo. Because of that, I wouldn't pass this one on to my young teen.
Overall, a light and engaging read!
I received an earc via netgalley, all opinions are my own!

Twig’s Traveling Tomes by Gryffin Murphy blends cozy charm with whimsical adventure in a way that made this a delightful read. Louella Twig’s unique magical connection to books sets up a fun and imaginative premise, and her journey from a quiet travelling bookseller to an unexpected heroine is genuinely engaging. The slow-burn romance with Everett adds just the right amount of heart without overpowering the story, and their banter brought plenty of warmth and smiles. The world feels whimsical and inviting, full of quirky characters and magical touches that kept me turning the pages.
While the stakes are on the lower side compared to epic fantasies, and a bit more depth to the villains’ motivations would have elevated the tension, the overall adventure was charming and satisfying. Fans of light fantasy with found family vibes and trope-friendly romance will really enjoy this one!

You could get a hug, or you could read Twig's Traveling Tomes instead. This cozy fantasy was everything I needed.
Louella Twig is focused on growing her traveling bookshop business to prove that her book magic, though rare, is not inferior to magic powered by nature. She likes her solitude, but things change when a handsome rogue Everett Sharp shows up at her bookshop and seems determined to stick around, and her former mentor needs help with finding his precious grimoire.
This was a heartwarming story, with many things to love. Quirky characters and excellent found family, although Louella’s and Everett’s families did not disappoint either, low stakes adventures with pirates, thieves, magical creatures and a traveling bookshop of course. I loved Louella’s magic, and books calling out to her were a fun touch.
Everett, a flirt extraordinaire, and his yearning deliver a delicious slow burn romance. We get tension, great banter and just all-around cuteness.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story full of heart and humor!

God-tier 6 star cozy romance adventure read! If you want a book to feel like a warm blanket and a hot cup of tea, then this is your next read.
It's got a traveling bookstore, a cute familiar, tweed vest wearing MMC. Longing, banter, he falls first, fun side characters, it has it all! Fun fantasy elements throughout like sirens, elves, and gnomes. Several scenes had me laughing out loud. I loved every second of it.
This delightful book is perfect for fall, especially for readers who like to select books based on their mood. The author creates a warm atmosphere with cozy, bookish descriptions of the main character's shop, home, and the surrounding area. I loved the interactions among the cast of friends, who were incredibly kind and supportive of each other. Everett, our male lead, evolves from being just a friend to someone the female lead can trust with her heart. He is a completely supportive and attentive character, making him a pleasure to read about.
I highly recommend this delightful, low-stakes novel!
This is what every cozy fantasy should aspire to be. Sharp reminded me of *smolder* Flynn Rider. The world building was so unique and fantastical: sword fighting plants, a magic originating from books, goofy wizards, and an abundance of magical creatures. I also adored the cute quotes from books and their authors that Twigs sells in her shop. Every last detail felt intentional and well thought out.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bindery Books for the ARC.
This was a breath of fresh air and such a sweet cozy fantasy book. Twig’s adventure from lone book witch to being surrounded by love, friendship, and adventure was fun and mellow. While this book had plenty of plot to go around, it was one of those stories you just smile through. It made me laugh and kept me interested but it remained very low stakes. The love story that plays out is sweet but mild (no spice here) yet still very satisfying. I really enjoyed all the whimsy and magical creatures and the band of misfits that were the supporting characters. The story is very well written and the author is fantastic at really illustrating the magical land crafted in this story. This was an extremely solid 4 star read that I really enjoyed.
Take a dash of Howl's Moving Castle, a soft, pinch of DnD Campaign, a smattering of Tangled, and the one wizard from the Sword and the Stone and you get Twig's Travelling Tomes.
This book is like a warm hug on a cold Winter's evening. It's a cosy, low stakes, found family adventure story that's sure to warm your heart. Louella Twig, our titled character, is a reclusive book witch with a magical bookshop - she has the magical ability to attract books that are needed (but not necessarily wanted) by herself and her customers. Her ex-magic professor, who had previously thrown her out of witchy school for her unusual powers, has arrived with a conundrum - his grimoire has split into ten parts and he needs a book witch to find them. Reluctantly, and with the aid of a staggerly charismatic flirt of a thief, Louella sets off on a journey to find the missing pieces.
I love the characters. The banter. The tropes. All of it. A highly recommended read for magic lovers!

Calling all cozy fantasy book lovers!! This tome is for you! Charming in all the best ways, with witches, wizards, gnomes, dragons, thieves, pirates and all types of magical creatures. Lovely characters with fun magic and a heartwarming message.
Louella Twig is a successful book witch 🧙♀️with a traveling bookstore, despite not being recognized by the magical community for her unique power. Her magic is in knowing the perfect book for every reader. I want her magic and I wish this bookstore was a real place to visit! Everett is a recently-former thief that she discovers hiding in her store. Although there are instant sparks between them, it’s a slow burn romance as they embark on adventure recovering the pages of a grimoire stolen from her former mentor, Feralorn.
This literally checks all boxes of a cozy fantasy but in a way that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was humorous, had found family, and real family that you’ll fall in love with. These quirky characters collect as Louella and Everett travel across the four kingdoms and the action unfolds at pace with the evolution of their relationship. There are also a host of side love interests that include varied types of romantic entanglements.
My only criticisms are that I wish it was a little more detailed in the world building and I could have used less use of the word “wolfish”. These are minor quibbles that didn’t detract from the overall vibes. And as a bibliophile, I thoroughly appreciated the love and power of books this story reflected. So many things to love in this sweet tale.

I deeply loved this. It is a real cozy, cozy, cozy fantasy. We have a witch, on an adventure, with found family, and some ROMANCE baby. The writing is elegant. I would happily read another story set in this world! If you are a fan of India Hilton I would recommend this one for sure.
I wasn't expecting a lot of romance but oh my word was it well done! Now that is how a slow burn should be! I'm not even a big fan of romance fantasy and this author truly impressed me. It was a wonderful balance of adventure, action, and romance. The world felt loved in and well thought out. Each character felt like they contributed something to the story and weren't there just to exist for the sake of the main character. This was a wonderful story capturing what it is to find acceptance in your fellows and in yourself. The story this book aims to tell it does it extremely well, the writing, the characters, the pacing, each element of a story came together seamlessly and had me enchanted from page one.
A fun and cozy adventure sure to steal your heart.
I found Twigs Traveling Tomes by Gryffin Murphy to be a charming and enchanting read. Louella Twig’s bookshop and magical world pulled me in immediately, and her adventure with the roguish Everett Sharp was full of humor, tension, and heart.
The story blends romance, magical adventure, and witty banter with a lighthearted, slow burn vibe. I loved the enemies to lovers tension, the magical quest, and the found family moments woven throughout. Readers who enjoy books like A Court of Thorns and Roses or The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue will likely be drawn to this whimsical, character driven fantasy.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC , I’m eager to read more from Gryffin Murphy

Twig's Traveling Tomes was a delight to read. The author really got the balance right for a cozy fantasy, which I'm discovering more and more is a challenging thing to do. This book was neither too twee nor too slow, nor too tense. There were moments of indulgent whimsical wish fulfilment on the author's part, but in a way similar to Sarah Beth Durst's work where you feel charmed by it. (For example, the massive tree house with all sorts of luxuries that any little girl with a fairy tale mind would get shiny eyes and grabby hands for, and the (spoiler, redacted). The romance is charming and the side characters are all distinct and well realized without crowding out the protagonist.
My only major gripe is that the challenges and tasks all seemed just a little bit too easy to get through. Adding a dash more conflict or turning the difficulty up just one more notch would have improved things a bit. But I still enjoyed the story thoroughly.
"A girl can learn a lot from reading romance. We're quite dangerous in that way. Through stories, we discover what we want and refuse to settle for anything less."
Honestly this book was a delightful dream from the start. I discovered this book through Meg (megs.tea.room on insta) and I am so happy I got an ARC. These low stake cozy books are such a relaxing adventure and needed sometimes after heavier dramas. It is nice to know all the problems and drama will be resolved and we get a cute little cozy happy ending. And the names of the characters?? Chefs kiss. They just added to the whimsy and coziness.
The sirens cracked me up.
“Support the arts!” LOL
And now all of a sudden I want to buy a grappling hook.

A very cute and adventurous cozy fantasy story full of heart. I had a lot of fun reading this and enjoying the dynamics of the characters throughout the story.
Twig’s Traveling Tomes is a whimsical, bookish cozy fantasy that feels like curling up with a warm drink on a rainy afternoon. It did take me a little while to fully settle into the story—the beginning moves at a gentler pace, and the world unfolds slowly—but once I found my footing, I really enjoyed the ride.
This is very much a low-stakes cozy fantasy. The conflict exists, but it never feels overwhelmingly dark or heavy. Instead, the focus is on charm, atmosphere, and character dynamics. The magic feels soft and enchanting rather than explosive, and the mild quest at the heart of the story gives just enough momentum without overpowering the cozy tone.
The romance is a slow burn, and I appreciated that it wasn’t rushed. It leans into a “he falls first” dynamic, which was honestly adorable. The banter between Louella and Everett adds a playful energy to the story, and their chemistry builds in quiet, meaningful ways rather than dramatic declarations. It’s subtle, sweet, and perfectly matched to the tone.
What really stands out is the whimsy. The magical elements, the bookish setting, and the eccentric cast of characters all give this story a light, enchanting quality. It’s the kind of book that isn’t trying to shock you—it’s trying to charm you, and it succeeds.
If you love cozy fantasy with soft magic, gentle adventure, playful banter, and a slow-building romance, this one is definitely worth picking up. Just give it a little time to work its magic.

Twigs Traveling Tomes is such a cozy, delightful read. I had so much fun with it. The FMC, Louella, gave me major Belle energy, but as a witch, while Everett felt like Flynn Rider in bookish fantasy form. Their dynamic was instantly charming.
The story follows Louella and Everett as they team up with a lovable group of friends to search for Louella’s missing former mentor. Along the way there are plenty of shenanigans, growing friendships, and that warm found-family feeling that makes cozy fantasy so comforting.
Honestly, I enjoyed every part of this journey it’s whimsical, heartfelt, and perfect if you want a light, magical adventure with characters you can’t help but root for.
Cozy, magical adventure with found-family vibes.
Thank you so much NetGalley and publisher for letting me read this early!

A charming cozy romp, perfect for people who want some adventure in their cozy found family romantasy. Slow burn and VERY funny. Complex dynamics that never feel forced. My only complaint is that I want more adventures of Twig and the gang!
"As few things are as stubborn as a book lover's determination to read one more chapter,"
And ain't that the truth. I could not put this book down.
From the first page, I was thrown into a cozy and charming world of magic and books. I felt like I was floating through Howl's Moving Castle and Legends & Lattes - I deeply wish I could step into these pages for real.
The book quotes at the beginning of each chapter were amazing. They were funny and applicable and made me smile with each new one. Gryffin Murphy's writing had me so happy the entire time. The cute, witty, and hilarious writing made me rush to her GoodReads to add her other books to my TBR.
The characters were perfect and are now my best friends. I love Louella and Everett. Their banter was exactly what I love - the FMC being sassy and the MMC being a ridiculous and overly confident flirt. Feralorn was adorable too, and I just pictured Merlin from The Sword in the Stone the entire time.
I like a good quest, but I LOVE a good book-finding quest. Between the magic, self-doubt turned confidence, found family, romance, and an abundance of mystical creatures and places, I'm hooked. Aside from wishing I had more time with Nix (bunny dragon, are you kidding??), I have no critiques. This may not be the book I thought I wanted, but it was definitely the book I needed!
This was soo cute, fun, and cozy! Cozy stories tend to get judged for being boring because of the low stakes but this was anything but. This takes you on a magical adventure with soo many lovable characters, and you get to see several romances bloom along the way. The main love interests are so perfect - Everett had me swooning. He was down bad from the moment he met Twigs and I couldn't get enough of them. I personally want to work at her bookstore and also meet her magical familiar. The author did a great job describing the setting of this world and conveyed a lot of emotion in the characters. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fantasy-comfort read and I'd love to read more from this author in the future. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
