Description
I gave him a fake name, and he looked for me anyway.
For two years.
One night in Vegas. We didn't even sleep together—just talked until 4 a.m., argued about whether The Princess Bride is a romance, shared French toast in our clothes on a hotel bed. I left before it could mean something.
I took his hoodie. I never threw it away.
Now Zac Torres is standing at my press conference, and the man who spent two years searching for "Rebecca" just found Brynn Callahan.
He's the NHL defenseman everyone calls a locker room cancer—six-foot-four of silence and bad reputation. My editor wants a two-week profile. Redemption arc or villain confirmation.
But Zac's not the villain. He blew the whistle on Chicago's front office, and they destroyed him for it. I have the sources to prove it.
Publishing saves him. It also ends me.
Two weeks with a man who looks at me like I'm already his. A story that could detonate my entire career. And the terrifying possibility that staying might be worth the wreckage.
I've been running my whole life. I'm not sure I know how to stop.
Second chance. Forced proximity. Some people are worth staying for.
Mics and Misconduct is a steamy standalone in the Minnesota Mammoths series.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!
I actually loved this book. I started it last night and needed to read straight through the end. The banter was so strong - it had me cackling out loud.
Considering I went into this book without knowing the series nor the author - I came out truly loving the writing style and general story of the book. There were times where I was questioning small pieces BUT overall I really loved it!
What a cute little story between two strangers who met at a bar in Vegas 🤍

This was a great second chance hockey romance. I always love a “one night stand” ish type romance that eventually turns into something more. I love how he eventually finds her after searching for her for years. I guess you can call this a grumpy x sunshine because of how he’s considered a problem to everyone else & completely different for her. I just loved everything about this story. It was a great quick read & I was so excited to read another from Sena Voss. And I can’t wait for the next one!
Lately, I have been fully immersed in my sports romance era, and hockey romances in particular continue to be my weakness. There is something about the combination of intensity, vulnerability, and high emotional stakes that always pulls me in. After finishing “Suits and Skates,” I was so eager to see what would come next, and when I started this book, I had that same immediate feeling that I was in for something good. It did not take long at all for me to feel hooked and just a little on edge in the best possible way.
From the very beginning, this story drew me in. I really loved that it is told in first person with alternating perspectives, which made it easy to connect with both main characters and understand their motivations. I am always a fan of a well-done second chance romance, and this one delivered exactly what I was hoping for. Watching the characters revisit their past and work through everything that stood between them felt emotional, satisfying, and well paced.
I will admit that when I realized the MMC in this book was Zac Torres, I was a little nervous. I loved the characters from “Suits and Skates” so much that I was not sure how he would fit into this story. I was pleasantly surprised by how his character developed here. Seeing him in a new light added depth to his story and made me appreciate him far more than I expected to.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. I loved how everything came together in a way I did not fully anticipate, and it left me feeling satisfied while still wanting more. If there are more books planned in this series, I will absolutely be picking them up.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
