Description

From USA TODAY bestselling author Kathleen Fuller comes a cozy, kisses-only romance about fresh starts, fall leaves, and finding love right next door, perfect for fans of Gilmore Girls and Sarah Adams.

Via Dalton has sworn off men to focus on the two things she loves most: her quirky cat café, Pawsitive Vibes, and the charming town of Pecan Corner, Ohio. But her peaceful world is shaken when Earl Brewster, the owner of the beloved Second Chapter Books next door, passes away. Via is determined to buy the shop and preserve Earl's legacy, but her plans hit a snag in the form of a tall, handsome, and completely unexpected heir.

Leo Brewster's life is thriving in LA, and the last thing he needs is an inheritance in the middle-of-nowhere, Ohio. But the alternative--letting his estranged mother inherit--has him packing his bags to receive the inheritance, quickly sell it off to the highest bidder, and hightail it back to LA. What he didn't count on was the list of stipulations in the will that has him staying in the small town for a month. Oh, and the determined, sunny café owner next door who refuses to let him destroy the town's heart without a fight.

Desperate to convince Leo the bookstore is vital to her community, Via challenges Leo to complete her Autumn Bucket List. As they navigate corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and fall festivals, Leo begins to see the magic in Pecan Corner--and in Via. Despite her vow to stay single and his plan to leave, the attraction between them simmers like hot cider.

Can a season of small-town charm convince a city boy to stay, or will Via lose both the bookstore and her heart?

Grab a warm drink and curl up with this delightful grumpy/sunshine, opposites-attract story of unexpected love and small-town charm.

I absolutely adored this book! Via is such a thoughtfully written character. She is sunshine ready to break out of a bottle. When Via is thrown into an uncertain future for her plans after sudden derailment, she faces the unknown as a challenge she can meet and exceed from. Leo whirlwinds into her life and as good as he is for her, she is complimentary to his growth and change too. They both start out grumpy, but a friends to lovers is exactly the read I hoped for! It was easy to fall quickly into vested interest in their lives in their sweet little community with all the lovely small town characters. Highly recommend this book! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Kathleen Fuller was one of the first authors that I read several years ago who made me fall in love with reading fiction as an adult. I love her style of writing - light hearted with fun characters and just a feel good kind of clean romance. This one made it hard for me to take breaks and walk away and I devoured it in just a few sittings. I highly recommend it even if you are dog person - she might just turn you into a cat lover with Sir and Squeaky!

Y'all I am so glad I saw this book and grabbed it! It is the cutest and the most funniest story this author has ever written in my opinion. This will be my favorite by her.
Cats, books and people all right up my alley. I was so delighted and happy while reading this one. Wow!
Sir was adamant about getting to know Leo. Actually pretty insistant lol. Cats just know some things about humans. I know I have one. She's pretty demanding at times.
I love the smell of books! My most favorite thing.
The romance part was pretty cute too. I loved the way the author did that.
I really couldn't put this book down. I didn't want this story to end. It was too enjoyable.
I loved Leo and Via especially Via. I loved in getting to know them.
Life has a way of working things out doesn't it?
I'm giving this story 5 stars for a job well done! I highly recommend it
Thanks for the opportunity to read and review this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

This is a heartfelt story that takes place in small-town, Pecan Corner, Ohio. Via Dalton, has sworn off men after a painful experience with her former fiancé. However, she does love her peculiar, unique Cat Café, where you can stop in for a cup of coffee and snuggle with one of the smart and talented cats or perhaps adopt one., Via regularly goes all out for holidays, with lavish decorating and her style of clothing to match the season.
When Earl, her next-door neighbor and owner of the beloved Second Chapter Books unexpected passes, Via wants nothing more than to be able to buy the book store to continue Earl’s legacy, however, a tall, handsome nephew of Earl’s from Los Angeles arrives claiming to be the heir. Leo is anxious to sell, and get back in his fancy car and drive back to L.A. as quickly as possible, however, the stipulation in Earl’s will requires him to remain in Pecan Corner for thirty days while completing a few other requirements his uncle has made.
Via offers to help him complete some of the requirements, and she gets him to help her complete her Autumn Bucket List. As the month goes on, Leo begins to feel the camaraderie and perks of living in a small town. He also is aware as Via is of the sparks between them.
I’ve never yet read a book by Kathleen Fuller when I didn’t have to pause reading to laugh out loud. Her writing style always has an element of humor woven through which makes for an intriguing story.

The first thing that caught my eye was the book cover- i love a good bookstore so it was cool to see window display of one as well as a cat in another window. The title also caught my attention. Who wouldn’t be interested in something to do with a cat cafe? This book was such a cute, light read. I really enjoyed it. Loved that the author gave cats names and personalities. This is a good book to read after reading a heavy/dark book. It’s a feel good book with a nice ending.

📝 Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

I loved this book! Kathleen tends to write books that are hard for me to put down. It was challenging to do life while I was reading this book!

I felt like the characters had depth, like I could relate to them. It thought it was a cute story and loved that the cats were part of the story too!

There was plenty of contrast in the book: Grumpy v Sunshine, Warm-Loving-Supportive Family v Family-Who-Wasn't-There.

I hope you give it a read, I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Having just recently moved to the ultimate cozy small town in the middle of an Australian Autumn, it felt like I had stepped into the world of the book itself! Absolutely love the small-town setting, the big characters and the overall coziness of Autumn at the Cat Cafe. Family
This is a story that had quite a few chuckles, but also deals with a lot of human emotions. There are cats and some you may want to take home, but there is healing in their purring!
We are offered some drama, and some sad happens, but also some joy and possible new relationships.
Leo and Via find each other in a rather unusual way, Uncle Earl, and he did it unkowingly!
I will say that Leo's growing up broke my heart, but despite his parents he seemed to be a great young man.
Past hurts seem to affect these young people, but lost journals change everything.
I did love the epilogue!

Aww this was a sweet and heartwarming contemporary romance set in a welcoming small town in Ohio ☺️🫶😍 It's a quick, easy read that perfectly captures the cozy feel of a Midwestern autumn 🍁 ❤️❤️❤️

The story follows an opposites-attract romance between Via and Leo, two characters carrying their own personal struggles. As the story unfolds, both characters are forced to confront their own challenges, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop alongside that growth ❤️

The supporting cast adds plenty of charm!!😍 From amusing feline companions to entertaining family members who bring lighthearted moments to the story. Beyond the romance, the novel explores themes of friendship, family, belonging, and the importance of having people who make you feel seen, valued, and at home 🥹🫶🫶🫶

If you're in the mood for a cozy, low-spice romance with lovable characters and a strong sense of community, this is definitely worth picking up!!🙌

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!!❤️ All thoughts and opinions are my own, as always ☺️🫶

Autumn at the Cat Café – Kathleen Fuller ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the ARC.

This book felt like wrapping up in a soft blanket with a warm drink while leaves fall outside the window.

Autumn at the Cat Café is a cozy small-town romance that focuses just as much on community, healing, and finding where you belong as it does on the romance itself. After losing someone who meant a great deal to her, Via finds herself facing uncertainty about the future of the life she's built around her beloved cat café. Enter Leo, a California businessman who arrives in town to settle his late uncle's affairs and unexpectedly turns her world upside down.

What I enjoyed most was the heart of this story. Both Via and Leo are carrying old hurts, and neither is looking for love when they first meet. Their relationship develops naturally as they spend more time together, learning that first impressions don't always tell the whole story.

Via was easy to love. She's warm, loyal, and deeply connected to her town, but she's also still carrying scars from past betrayals. Leo initially comes across as someone who doesn't quite fit into Pecan Corner, but watching him slowly find connections and discover parts of himself he had been missing was one of my favorite parts of the book.

And of course, the setting deserves its own mention. Between the cat café, the bookstore, the cozy town atmosphere, and all the autumn activities, this book practically smells like cinnamon and fallen leaves.

🍁 Cozy small-town setting
🐾 Cat café owner FMC
📚 Bookstore inheritance subplot
🍂 Fall atmosphere
❤️ Emotional healing
🐱 Plenty of feline side characters
✨ Sweet, clean romance

If you're looking for a low-drama, feel-good romance that embraces all the best parts of autumn, this is a lovely choice. It won't sweep you away with high stakes or intense romance, but it absolutely succeeds at being warm, comforting, and charming.

This book was the definition of cozy fall perfection 🍁☕🐱. Filled with charming small-town vibes, adorable cats, a bookstore, and a sweet slow-burn romance, it felt like stepping into the ultimate autumn comfort read.

Via Dalton loves her life running Pawsitive Vibes, the local cat café that has become a favorite gathering place in the town of Pecan Corner, Ohio 🐾☕. When the beloved owner of the bookstore next door passes away, Via hopes to buy the shop and preserve his legacy. Unfortunately, her plans are complicated by Leo Brewster, the handsome heir who arrives from Los Angeles intending to sell the bookstore and get back to his busy city life as quickly as possible 📚✈️.

A quirky clause in the will forces Leo to stay in town for a month, giving Via the perfect opportunity to show him why the bookstore matters so much to the community. Through pumpkin patches, fall festivals, corn mazes, and all kinds of autumn adventures, Leo slowly begins to fall for the town and for Via herself 🎃🍂❤️.

What I liked 💕 was everything about the setting. A cat café next to a bookstore already sounds like a dream, and adding small-town charm and fall activities made it even better 🐱📚🍁. I loved watching Leo slowly warm up to both the community and Via, and the romance was sweet without being overly dramatic. The story also had that comforting Hallmark movie feel that makes you want to curl up under a blanket with a warm drink.

Overall, this is a heartwarming, feel-good romance packed with cats, books, fall festivals, and plenty of cozy charm 📖🐾✨. If you love small-town romances, opposites attract stories, and books that feel like autumn in novel form, Autumn at the Cat Café is a delightful seasonal read 🍂🐱❤️☕.

Review of advance reader and listener copy received from NetGalley

This book was amazing. The beginning was a bit slow for me but soon became fast. I loved the small town charm. The cats were all adorable…….especially Sir Meow. The way he brought together Via and Leo was so cute. Via and Leo’s banter was so cute. Their nicknames for each other were really adorable. I loved the way how reconciliation happened in this book and the way the characters’ flaws were portrayed. I loved the bucket list. All of the side characters were also amazing. I loved Dora……she reminded me of my sister and Fergus with his overprotective brother nature was so adorable. Earl was also an amazing and key character. The narrator did a great job. I would recommend listening to the audiobook.

I give my thanks to the author and to NetGalley for giving me this ARC and ALC

Autumn at the Cat Café was a fun, delightful, fall based romance. Totally reminiscent of a Hallmark vibes, but with a new twist. A cat café. Don’t get me wrong, I love cats, and I have been hearing about cafés like this, but to read a story set in one of them? It was perfect! I learned some things about how these cafes work and there is no other setting in which these two primary characters would have been a better fit. Everything in this one, the small town, the emphasis on books, and all things fall work together to complete a delightful autumn infused comfort story with all the right vibes. The bucket list couple with the will’s stipulations allowed for some great adventures while flaming all spark on all the emotions.

This was a fun read. Octavia (known as Via) owns a cat cafe that adjoins a second hand bookshop in Pecan Corner, Ohio. The owner of the bookshop, Earl, an elderly bachelor who she had befriended, passes away and leaves his shop to his estranged nephew, who just happens to be a very handsome, single Harvard grad from California. Leo arrives in Pecan Corner thinking that he could wrap up his inheritance in a weekend and get a local realtor to sell the shop. Instead he finds out that Earl’s will requires him to stay for 30 days, and to pass a test, before he can inherit. During this timeframe, he and Via try to deny their attraction to each other. But soon the sparks fly and it looks like their relationship might blossom. But Via has to learn to trust again, having been burned by a cheating fiance earlier in her life. And Leo has to learn that he is not an island, which he had become as he tried to hide his pain from self centered parents. The fun escapades that they do on Via’s bucket list keep the story moving and adds to its homespun charm.

I loved this book! It is the perfect cozy fall read. Grab a blanket and a cat and cuddle up to read this cute romance. It makes me want to write my own fall bucket list this year.
Via is the owner of a popular cat cafe and when her neighbor, Earl Brewster, passed away, she is devastated. He ran an eclectic bookstore next door that Via would love to keep running if only she had the money to buy it.
Leo Brewster is a rich city boy who finds out he inherited a bookshop from an uncle he didn't even know existed. He decides to make a quick trip to Pecan Corner, Ohio to quickly get the bookshop up for sell and out of his hair. But things don't go quite to plan when he arrives.
This book is such a cute fall romance with enemies to love vibes and I definitely recommend you give it a read this fall. It is no spice and the perfect amount of swoon.

Autumn at the Cat Cafe is a sweet, cozy read filled with charm, romance, and just the right amount of emotional depth. We first meet Via, a cafe owner from Pecan Corner who is still reeling from a broken engagement that ended just before her wedding. Later we meet Leo, a hedge fund manager from Los Angeles who is navigating complicated family issues and the unexpected inheritance left by an uncle he never knew.

When their paths cross, a surprising friendship begins to grow into something more as they spend time together and discover they have a natural chemistry - everyone around it notices it too. Of course, the road to happily-ever-after isn't completely smooth, and readers get to experience the ups and downs right along with them. I especially loved the cozy atmosphere created by the cat cafe and the autumn bucket list, which perfectly captured the warmth and magic of the season.

This was a sweet, fun, and heartwarming story with likable characters, a charming setting, and plenty of autumn vibes. If you are looking for a cozy romance to curl up with on a crisp fall day, this one is worth picking up.
