This colorful book is bound to be a hit with readers! The "just like me" tidbits really make the book relevant and fun.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the images were bright and colourful, the facts and details were just right and we learnt things as we went through the book - definitely one to keep and refer back to - very good indeed.
A ,beautiful book that will delight the naturalist and the curious. Made for browsing, but not as useful for research. The photographs are outstanding and the breezy style of writing will definitely appeal to 8 and 9 year olds.

I have just had the pleasure (thank you NetGalley!) to be able to read Animal Planet Ocean Animals: Animal Bites. This is a nonfiction text that is geared towards a younger crowd that goes through many interesting facts about animals in the oceans. The book was very aesthetically pleasing with colorful pages and stunning pictures. The text blurbs were easy to follow and the information very straightforward.
When it comes to picking books for my classroom library I look for these essential ingredients. Nonfiction texts are generally a go to for struggling readers and second language learners so they are always wonderful additions to any classroom bookshelf. I would consider picking this up for this purpose. Plus, kids go crazy these days for anything having to do with sharks and the oceans. What is not to like?
What made this book stand out, however, is the "Just Like Me" blurb. This was a clever addition. In the process of teaching students to comprehend text, we teachers suggest to students that they make connections as a strategy to increase engagement and help them understand the text better. These blurbs would be perfect for a struggling reader to see what connections actually look like in a text that is on their level.

This book is definitely a 5 star book. The picture are bright, colorful and absolutely amazing. This is also an excellent source of information for people who love ocean animals. My 8 year old can't get enough of these Animal Planet books. I will likely buy a print version of this for his collection. Highly recommended!! Thank you for this opportunity.

Animal Planet Ocean Animals by Animal Planet Laaren Brown is an astounding book of underwater animals and exquisite pictures. The images are crisp, clear, and beautiful. The book shows a variety of animal life from the variety of depths. It shows the reader the depths on it's chart. The book is so reader friendly. Every animal has a chart that shows how big it is and it is not like a normal chart. Most books might say, "3 feet", kids often aren't aware of what 3 feet really means so this book, example, might put a silhouette of a guitar next to the fish. The book also have a flattened world chart with oceans where the areas that the animal inhabits. The animal pictures have all kinds of fun, creative, witty fact tidbits with them. This book is not just for kids either. This could easily be for an end table for a company, grandkids, or stress relief. I enjoyed it very much and looked over the book three times and didn't get tired of it. The pictures are just truely amazing. I am a nature nut and have lots of animal and nature books and having had four kids and eight grand kids, we did/do a lot of reading. I can say this is one book that I will certainly make sure I get for them. I received this book for a honest review from NetGalley and it in no way effected my rating or review content. Thank you NetGalley for I may never have found this book.

This book is exactly as the series says, Animal Bites. There are so many facts in this book that something is going to draw in any reader. This book describes many aspects of Ocean Life. It talks about habitats, adaptations, family life and more. The photos in this book are amazing. They are so close you feel like you can touch the animals. The special sections on the side that include cool animal facts, simple infographics, and illustrated maps of Earth's watery environments are sure to invite discussion and further investigation. The back of the book that includes ocean activities, further resources and an extensive Glossary is a great addition to a lesson on oceans. I love that a portion of the proceeds will benefit Animal Planet's R.O.A.R. (Reach Out. Act. Respond.) project which partners with leading animal organization to make the world a better place for domestic and wild animals.
This book would be a great addition to a school or class library, especially those learning about habitats, adaptations and conservation.

Beautiful colorful pictures. Very educational. My favorite was the Green Sea Turtles. One day I will get my kids and husband to see the baby turtles going into the ocean. I just need to know where and when. I never heard of the Giant tubeworm. Another favorite are the dolphin and humpback whale. Never knew a squid could break a crab's shell. Ouch!! A mama octopus is dedicated to her 56,000 eggs. Wow! I did not know that Belugas can imitate other animals. The best thing in this book is the resources. They list the places you should visit like the Shedd Aquarium, which we have been to and loved it. We would love to go back.
I definitely want to buy this book for my daughter. She loves reading about ocean animals and I know she would love this book.

Animal Planet Ocean Animals is a fantastic book! It would be a great addition to a home or school library. I enjoyed the beautiful pictures and fun facts that I learned. This book is great for children and adults alike.
The book is organized with colorful tabs for different topics. We learn about many different animals, the zones of the ocean, and other important things about the nature of the ocean. Each animal featured in the book has a great picture as well as information about it, such as its habitat and what range of the ocean it lives in. My favorite picture was of the puffer fish. There is also a glossary at the end to help the reader learn and understand new words.
In one section of the book, we are shown the efforts of volunteers who participated in the International Coastal Cleanup of 2015. I was surprised that eight bowling balls were found!
I loved this book and look forward to more from Animal Planet.

This book is beautiful and simple. This was shared with my four year old daughter as we prepare for a trip to the coast. It spawned many questions, such as if certain things were hair or spikes. Both she and I appreciated the comparisons to related things to a child. A dolphin weighs about the same as two dads. This helped her remember details more clearly. It is a reference book we will go back to after our visit.
