Description

Why do some relationships flow effortlessly, while others feel exhausting, confusing, or constantly stuck?

Why do intelligent, capable people struggle to communicate — even with those they care about most?

And what if the real issue isn’t what you’re saying… but how you and others are wired to experience the world?

In Human Code, international trainer and behaviour expert Annalisa Corti reveals a powerful, practical framework for understanding human behaviour — and transforming the way you relate to others at work, at home, and within yourself.

Drawing on psychology, neuroscience, emotional intelligence, and over twenty years of real-world experience, Annalisa introduces the Three Intelligences that shape every human interaction:

  • Instinctual Intelligence – drive, action, survival, and momentum
  • Relational Intelligence – emotions, connection, empathy, and belonging
  • Rational Intelligence – logic, structure, planning, and analysis

When these intelligences are misunderstood or out of balance, relationships suffer.

When they are recognised and integrated, communication becomes clearer, teams perform better, conflict reduces, and life feels far more aligned.

This book is not about labels or personality boxes.

It’s about awareness, responsibility, and adaptability.

You’ll learn how to recognise your dominant intelligence, understand others without judgment, and develop situational intelligence — the ability to adapt intelligently and effectively to any person or circumstance.

Inside Human Code, you’ll discover how to:

  • Understand yourself deeply and take responsibility for how you show up
  • Decode the behaviour of colleagues, partners, and children
  • Reduce conflict and misunderstandings in teams and relationships
  • Communicate more effectively — without forcing or people-pleasing
  • Build high-performing, emotionally intelligent teams
  • Improve leadership, parenting, and collaboration skills
  • Adapt your behaviour fluidly instead of reacting on autopilot
  • Create healthier, more productive relationships everywhere

The book also includes real-life examples, practical insights, a self-assessment, and a powerful bonus section applying the three intelligences to parenting — making it relevant for professionals and families alike.

Whether you are a business leader, manager, coach, HR professional, entrepreneur, parent, or someone who simply wants better relationships, Human Code gives you a clear behavioural map — one that replaces confusion with clarity and effort with flow.

This is not a book of hacks.

It’s a guide to understanding what it truly means to be human — and how to win in relationships at work and at home.

Why do some relationships flow effortlessly, while others feel exhausting, confusing, or constantly stuck?

Why do intelligent, capable people struggle to communicate — even with those they care...

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly informative - helps you understand yourself and others better. Highly recommended.

While reading Human Code in the first chapter, I quickly ascertained that I am a mix of Instinctual Intelligence and Relational Intelligence.

Since I’m a salesperson, it made sense that I have instinctual intelligence (act fast, focus on a goal, “like a dog with a bone”). This was my predominant intelligence. But I also have relational intelligence (which equates to radiance, comfort, and deep involvement - someone who begins a meeting with a story, for example). Annalisa’s book does not read like a textbook. It reads like a handbook that helps you identify yourself and others and lets you speak “in their language.” Very helpful at work, as well as at home. And since I don’t have rational intelligence, I need to understand it so I can communicate with those who do. I used to work closely with engineers (and my husband is an engineer), and they typically have rational intelligence (following logic, facts, and reasoning). I need to slow down and explain myself clearly without any fancy stories—get down to business right away.

For each intelligence, Annalisa describes aspects such as “how they live in time,” “how they make decisions,” “how they function in a group,” and more. It’s somewhat like reading a recipe—something to follow carefully while learning how to improvise as you get better and understand the different intelligences. Overall, I totally recommend this book to anyone who is interested in getting to know themselves better and relating better to their community. Wonderful and highly informative!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Systems Framework for Human Relationships in the Age of AI

Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2026

Format: Kindle

As someone who naturally thinks in terms of systems, workflows, and structured problem solving, I was immediately intrigued by Human Code. When smart people dedicate their energy to understanding a specific domain deeply, it pays to study their models. Annalisa Corti has clearly done that here, and the result is a framework that feels both grounded and practical.

For those of us in technology, engineering, data, or operations, we often excel at systems but struggle when the variable is human emotion or interpersonal dynamics. We can architect platforms and automate processes, yet still find ourselves confused by why a conversation derails or why a team dynamic feels off. Human Code bridges that gap. It gives logical thinkers a structured way to understand communication breakdowns without reducing people to stereotypes.

The timing of this book could not be better. We are stepping into a phase where AI is weaving itself into the core of how organizations operate, and automation is taking over more of the technical execution that used to consume our time. As that happens, the real differentiator is no longer just technical competence but human capability. Leaders and contributors who can navigate emotion, adapt to context, and read a room accurately are the ones who will stand out. As our systems become more optimized by machines, our relationships need to become more intentional and skillful. That is why this book feels so relevant right now. It speaks directly to the challenge of staying deeply human while everything around us becomes increasingly automated.

Highly recommended for leaders, technologists, founders, HR professionals, and anyone who wants their relationships to flow with more ease and far less unnecessary conflict.
