Rediscover this classic romance from bestselling author Sally Laity. Journey along with Annora Nolan as she flees Philadelphia for Wyoming in reply to a rather vague advertisement for a housekeeper that, “if the prospect pleases,” may lead to matrimony. When she arrives before her letter of acceptance, Lucas Brent doesn't know what to do with her—except to allow her one month's trial. Also includes a bonus historical romance, The Mountain's Son by Gloria Brandt.

I have to say I wasn't sure about this book at first, but the more I read the more I became immersed in the characters lives. It centres around Annora and Lucus and their budding relationship. It has a strong Christian theme which although featured strongly throughout the book never became overbearing. Yes I would recommend it and would read future publications from this author. Thanks to the author and net galley for gifting me this copy in exchange for an honest review.

If the Prospect Pleases by Gloria Brandt is a heart melting read. It's the kind of story that grabs readers and takes them straight into the novel. This Christian romance, is alone that readers everywhere will fall in love with...the characters are so realistic and the scenes come to life. I loved the adventure and excitement as well as the msytery of what Annora Nolan would do next. Where her journey ends will keep readers in suspense. The ending was perfect...I can't say much without giving it away but If the Prospect Pleases, is definitely a must read for readers worldwide. Family loss, death of loved ones, prayer and even friendships are all covered beautifully in this tale. I highly recommend this brilliant story readers everywhere. Gloria Brandt will instantly suck readers into her novels...I can't wait to read more by her in the future. I loved reading this new title.

A very enjoyable read, with believable characters, interesting historical settings, and plenty of drama. The descriptions of the places and lifestyles were easy to visualize, making the characters and their dilemmas seem to have a lot of depth. The two stories are only connected by the time period and both being in Wyoming territory, but they each one had a character who was disconnected from God because of past experiences, and a genuinely difficult dilemma. Loved sweet, hardworking Annora and the two little girls in the first one. Had to admit that Caleb Jonas in the second story would have left me tongue-tied too, along with poor Lydia. What a guy! The stories got better and better as they went. Honestly did not feel like a set of novellas. The ending to the Mountain's Son was the best!
A thoroughly enjoyable set of Christian historical fiction stories! 4.5 stars

Mrs. Henderson, the housekeeper, sees Mirah for her true self and tries to help Annora as much as she can. She cannot stand up to Mrs. Baxter as Mrs. Henderson was fortunate to be taken in and given a job many years ago after the death of her husband.
