Featuring vibrant characters and an innovative world of magic, science and mystery , Lynette Noni Medoran Chonicles Continue in another fast-paced adventure and a wonderful tribute to the power of the binding ties of friendship. I am coming to quickly love this series as one of my favorites it reminds me of the Chronicles of Eleantra series by Michelle Sagara. This series does need to be read in order or you would quickly get lost so I would read Akarnae first if you haven’t already.

Genuinely gutted about the ending. A great follow up with a brilliant sense of place and wonderful interactions between the cast.

So, if you have read my posts before you have already seen my review on Akarnae. Akarnae is the first book in the Medoran chronicles which I know is a five book series. Raelia is the book second book in the series. Like Akarnae, Raelia is such an amazing book. I'll try to go through this with as few feelings as possible.....but I doubt I'd do that cause...SO MUCH FEELS! You would too if you read this books.

This book follows Alex's second year in Akarnae , an academy that teaches magic. She and her best friends Jordan, Bear and Dix go through numerous adventures in the school. This book is so amazing. One of my fav parts was when Alex tells her family about being in a magical school. (not a spoiler cause it happens like in the first chapter, I think, so not a spoiler at all.) I mean most novels do not show much family relations, and I do not like that, but this book does and I totally liked that.

Another thing I absolutely loved was that the magical world was so beautiful and mysterious. I love how it so much. The description of the places and the classes they take! I even like the villain in this book. I mean he's so evil, but not like most villains who are evil but kinda stupid when you think about it. Aven is so EVIL! (Look at me using the word evil again an again cause of my awesome vocabulary abilities.). I mean he's actually intelligent and he's just the kind of villain who terrifies you and makes you like the protagonist even more.

Yet another thing I loved was the romance. I hate insta love. Like whenever in books someone meets another person and goes all "I looked at them for the first time ever and suddenly knew they were the one.". That is one point I HATE in books. This book however has a gradually developing romance. So, I adored it.

The lightheartedness and fun in the book will always make you laugh. He characters are so funny. I just ADORE Jordan cause he is such an awesome person. He's so caring and funny and I just need him as my best friend.

And another thing is the feels....I just felt like crying a lot after I read it. I'm not telling why because it's so wonderfully dreadful you have to read it on your own and not have spoilers. But this book will make you cry. Why Lynette Noni...why'd you have to do this to them...to us? *is heartbroken*

Overall, this book is so worth the read and you got to read it! It will be released on March 23, this year.

Where's the next book? I need the next book cause I need to know what happens next! I might invent a time machine and go forward in time to read this...

5 Stars!! I seriously adore this series its so wonderful! I love how these other worlds just feel so real and the characters have become so real. The world building is so great I want to know more its like its almost not enough because its so good! I'm very interested in Roka and the Meyan city I'm really excited for the next book to read more about that. There's something I love about each character its hard for me to even pick one favourite because they are so brilliantly written I feel like they are friends now. The only thing is that ending NO. UHG. so many emotions for it. Anger and frustration. I wont say anymore but I need the 3rd book like yesterday!

Two reviews in two days! I could not help myself, specially when this books launch is tomorrow. I wanted y'all to be warned in case you want to run to your local library tomorrow of get the Kindle edition. Stay tuned for more reviews!

I’ve literally just finished Alex’s last adventure and I am still a bit giddy about it all. The whole book is another great installment of a Series that I have now become a fan of, since I can’t wait for the third one to be released and the second is still a day away until the release date on the 23rd. So it’s going to be a tough time without them.

Here is what to expect of Realia.

Alex, Bear and Dix reunite in Realia after a summer apart with their families. Because of the events that tested them at the end of the year, they are now closer than ever. So their friendship remains intact. How ever this time we get to go into the lost -for thousands of years- city of Meya. In an effort to warn the Meyarin about Aven’s plans, and the lengths he is willing to go to, in order to get what he wants. How ever in turn, they help her just as much as she them, because Roka, the presumed dead prince –and Aven’s brother; helps her discover something else that could save her life if she had to use it in the future. A dormant, recently acquired ability, I guess you could say.

This books so far have not disappointed, they are full of adventure, action and in this one, there is even a bit of romance, if only starting to sprout, from more than one angle. It’s also great to see the characters get out of their comfort zone and fight against the odds, mostly when those are not in their favor.

Raelia has a lot more challenges than the previous one, if only because as we go, there are more encounters and the danger encompassing Akarnae, Alex, Dix, Bear and Jordan increase.

I especially like the library as a character as well, because it’s unpredictable and it also clues you in, when you are paying attention, of course. Also, the author writes the suspense for the final moments of the book very good. Building tension while also letting you pick up clues along the way that made me yell at Alex to stop and think for a second. Of course, she didn’t, but still, that means there is another book- hopefully in the near future; and I for one, can’t wait.

So yes, I do recommend the series, not just this book. Make sure you pick up Akarnae and Raelia if you enjoy Adventure, Fantasy and good humor. You’ll get a full plate of all, and then some more, it also does not hurt to know that there are at least five books in this series. The next one is called Draekora - I love all the names BTW. But I have no idea when is this one going to be launched.

You can get more info from the author if you follow her on social media –like I do. She’s also done some YouTube videos, so make sure to check that out.

As always, keep reading y’all. I’ll be back soon with another review.

Two books in and you’d be hard pressed to find a better or more engaging YA fantasy series out there. A guilty pleasure? No. Pleasure should never be a cause of guilt

Loved this book even more than the first in the series! Lynette Noni has truly crafted a winning combination once again - a story that is satisfying on its own, but that still leaves you eager for the next installment.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book I read it in two sittings the characters are well rounded and likeable the world the author built is believable and I would love to visit some day I can see where the comparisons with harry potter come from but there books feel aimed at an older age group so the books are a little darker I'm looking forward to the next installment

The series keeps getting better and better. Raelia is a very satisfying sequel to Arkanae. Alexandra's second year at the academy is full of adventures, suspense, romance, humor and near death experiences. More about Meya, the lost city is revealed. Alex matured physically and emotionally.
I was impressed by the depth given to the characters in the second book Alex joining the SAS was also one angle that was extremely entertaining throughout the book. I was also impressed by the connection between Kaiden and Alexandra. While their Romance is gradual, their moments together are quite enchanting. Aven is also a constant source of trouble for the gang, especially with his army of Claimed gifted humans.
Alex's relationship with her friends was a little bit strained towards the ending of Raelia but with the shocking revelation at the ending, all was understood. Raelia is a book that shows love, friendship, strength and the value of 'willpower', it is definitely one I can recommend for all YA readers out there.

I am really enjoying this series and the only negative I have is the wait between the 2 books. The descriptions of different places within the world are great - I only wish I could visit in more than my mind

Alexandra Jennings is beginning her second year at Akarnae Academy, a school for students with exceptional gifts. When she came here less than a year ago, she knew nothing about gifts, Akarnae, or the parallel world of Medora. For the first time in her life, Alex not only has friends, but she has found three of the best friends she could ever have asked for. Alex has discovered that her gift is willpower. Others with mindreading capabilities cannot read her mind, and she cannot be manipulated by those with mind-bending abilities either. These two powers alone have saved her from being taken over by Aven, a banished Meyerin prince, who wishes to use Alex for his own gains. For many years he has been searching for a way to reenter the lost city of Meya so that he can overthrow his father from the throne and then eradicate humans from Medora. He is using dark powers to claim people with gifts that might prove useful to him in his quest. When he attempts to claim Alex by slashing the palms of their hands and intermingling his blood with hers, she is able to break out of his control. Little does he know that the remnants of his blood that remain inside of her have given her some of his extraordinary powers, thus making her the only one who might be able to defeat him in a final showdown. Just before the winter holidays are about to begin, Aven manages to claim Jordan, one of Alex’s best friends. He’s not lost to them yet. She will need to find a way to share her gift of willpower with Jordan and train with Aven’s brother, Prince Roka, for the possibility of defeating Aven, once and for all. Fans of Harry Potter will not only enjoy this second installment of The Medoran Chronicles, but they will be excited to find another series that follows a hero, in this case a heroine, as she battles an evil prince, fights for her friends, and possibly finds romance along the way. Book three cannot come soon enough.

This is a combined, mom-and-teen-daughter review.

The mom said (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1594228661):

"Enjoyable story in the magic-boarding-school-with-friends genre. I have quibbles - like the author's clunkiness in dropping information or magical objects into the story that will be needed for plot later; predictability of plot; stock characters - but it's a pleasant, easy adventure story. I especially appreciated that the teen romances were very downplayed (mere handholding - no undressing, stalking or talk of soulmates). Language was clean, too."

The teen said (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1615778464?book_show_action=false&ref=ru_lihp_up_rv_0_mclk-up3060578581):

"Really good book, much better than the first. Unfortunately there is some romance, but it isn't too overwhelming. I really enjoyed reading this."

Raelia is a wonderful edition to The Medoran Chronicles, engaging and delightfully surprising. The storyline resumes shortly after Akarnae, after coming close to losing her freedom at the hands of Aven. Now Alex is back with a vengeance, her training has increased in order to protect the institute and the portal that Aven is so desperate to find.

After the revelations of the first book in the series, Alex's character growth was immense. She's always been resilient, but has taken her place at the Akarnae in her stride and is relishing in her new found role as a protector of the library and the institution itself. Old characters and friends return, while readers are introduced to new characters in the mystical kingdom of Meya. I enjoyed seeing characters such as the dashing Kaiden and roommate in D.C become part of the core character group, with much stronger storylines and interactions with Alex, Bear and Jordan.

One of the most appealing aspects of The Medoran Chronicles is the adventure. Comparable to the Harry Potter series, it appeals to young adult and mature middle grade readers as the storyline is morally uncomplicated and doesn't rely on a romance to develop characters or further the storyline. It's a breath of fresh air. I loved the attraction blooming between Kaiden and Alex and hoping the third book in the series explores a potential romance between the two.

Once again Lynette Noni's writing is a mixture of sass and humour. The series is perfect for non fantasy reader such as myself as it offers a lighter take on the genre, making it easy for young teens to engage with and relate to well written and it's depth of characters.

I love a well written villain and I need more Aven. Aven is mysterious, sinister and delicious. He's single minded in his determination to find the doorway back to Meya, where he is now the exiled prince. I needed him to ignite and his cunning surprised and delighted me, even as villainous as he's portrayed. Be warned, Raelia ends with a heart wrenching revelation. The fate of one character rests upon Alex and her strength to fight.

Raelia is an wonderful installment in The Medoran Chronicles. First time author Lynette Noni is a magnificent storyteller, crafting a beautifully written, engaging and enchanting new young adult series with a touch of Australian charm and warmth.

My only gripe is that all the characters seem to mumble. Speak clearly children.

I totally loved this second book in the series and I eagerly awaiting the rest of the books! In this book, Alex returns to Medora for the next year of school and she further develops her powers. She is the chosen one and only she will be able to save - oh, probably the world - from the evil Aven and his lackeys. There is a little romance, lots of action and fighting and there is one Harry Potter reference. I liked Alex's spunky personality. I really look forward to the next book! I received this book free to review from Netgalley.

Alex Jennings has returned to Akarnae Academy for another year, this time with her parents in tow. She’s back in class, but she is soon called on to use her traveling abilities through the Library to go to the realm of the Meyarin to warn them of their renegade prince, Aven, and his plans to retake the city of Meya for himself.

When I read Akarnae last year, I enjoyed it, but felt it needed a bit of a further polish. With Raelia, Lynette Noni has really flowered as a storyteller. The characters were more fleshed out and engaging, the settings were beautifully described, and the action was non-stop and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Alex has grown into her role in the world of Medora, taking her combat, equestrian and archery classes seriously even though she’s not sure why she needs them in a world with teleportation and personal communicators. Her budding romance with one of her classmates is very sweet, and her friendships with DC, Jordan and Bear are tight. The series is starting to feel more like a YA fantasy rather than one aimed at younger readers.

Alex’s parents seemed a bit too accepting of everything that had been going on over the previous year, but it does make a refreshing change for the young protagonist to have a good relationship with her parents and for them to be aware of her adventures, even if they don’t seem too concerned about the dangers Alex is facing there. There’s plenty to keep them busy in the sentient library, though. I really loved the adventures in the library in the first book, and while there wasn’t a lot of library in Raelia, there was so much else going on that I didn’t mind so much.

The ending is not quite a cliffhanger, but there’s certainly plenty to look forward to for the next in the series. Make sure you pick up both books and give this lovely local author a try!
