Description

A stunning romantic horror novel where a dreamwitch and her bodyguard must confront the dark truths of the nightmares bleeding into reality around them.

In Camdyn, strangeness seeps from Wolford Manor like blood from an open wound. The manor swelters when it should freeze and the garden rots instead of grows – and the young nephew of Lord Montgomery suffers from crippling and pervasive nightmares. Desperate, the family calls upon Matiah Blood.

As a dreamwitch, Matiah can traverse and manipulate the realm of dreams. Wanting to bolster her reputation and support her struggling sister, Matiah travels to the manor – despite the threat of the huntsmen, an elusive sect who prey on dreamwitches.

While Matiah hurries to uncover Wolford’s secrets and prevent the nightmares from poisoning the rest of the household, she must rely on Atlas, the Montgomery’s handsome, brooding bodyguard, for protection. Forced to work together, the two can’t resist their growing attraction - despite Atlas’s devastating history with dreamwitches.

But something far more sinister than huntsmen and nightmares haunts Wolford, something Atlas can’t protect her from, that threatens to break the barrier between the world of dreams and reality. And if Matiah can’t find a way to save Wolford from the ghosts of its past, it might very well break her.

In the gorgeously haunted, horrifying world of Monique Hazel's The Dreamwitch, love may be the most dangerous thing of all.

"Immersive and intricate, I was completely absorbed by this cleverly-built world where the lines between dreams and reality are blurred. A brilliant addition to the genre." - Lyndall Clipstone, critically acclaimed author of Tenderly, I am Devoured

"Crafted out of gossamer wings and dripping with crystal decadence... a haunting gothic tale complete with spine-tingling suspense and agonizing romance." - Grace Morrow, author of We Become Darkness

"Dark, melancholic, and deeply romantic. The decadent fantasy of my dreams. Written with lush, indulgent prose, Monique Hazel has deftly crafted a world ready to sweep you away to candlelit halls, rotting autumnal gardens, and gauzy dreamscapes. Truly a stunning debut from an author I can’t wait to read more of." - Kalie Reid, author of The Sacred Space Between

What a stunning cover and story, I loved this SO much. In the beginning I liked this and by the end I was obsessed. The plot and magic was so unique and the characters were so easy to love. The build up between Matiah and Atlas was expertly done and I found myself aching for more. One of my favorite reads of the year, I would recommend this to anyone who loves gothic mystery, fantasy romance, and witchy stories. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

Dreamwitch is a new concept for me. Therefore, I knew I had to read it. It was such a refreshing read. I liked how Dreamwitches can manipulate dreams and the side effects that comes with it. I was engaged throughout the whole book with multiple plotlines that didn't make me overwhelmed but excited. Matiah was dealing with nightmares of the nephew of Lord Montgomery, the threat of huntsmen, her brooding hot bodyguard, and something more sinister on the horizon.

The characters were great, I love Matiah and Atlas. Their buildup was well-crafted and i found myself starving for more. I hope we get a novella or a second book because there is a potential. I'm glad i dove into the book with little knowledge because it made it better. There were so many plot twists i didn't get a break lol. I highly recommend it if you love gothic mystery and fantasy! It is one of my favorite reads this year.

This was truly such an unexpected but amazing read!

The Dreamwitch follows fmc Matiah, who offers to travel to a neighboring kingdom to help a boy of the Manor who is suffering from terrible nightmares, but nothing is as it seems once she gets there.

I adored this book, and the writing style was beautiful and poetic. This was such a fresh and unique story. As someone who reads mostly fantasy, it really was a breath of fresh air. If you like dark gothic themes mixed with a little horror I think you will enjoy this story.

4/5 I thoroughly enjoyed The Dreamwitch by Monique Hazel. I was hooked from the first chapter and could not put this book down. I finished reading it in one day. I thought the premise was very interesting and unique. The Dreamwitch is about Matiah Blood, a dreamwitch who can traverse and manipulate the realm of dreams. Matiah gets hired by a wealthy family who live in Wolford Manor. She must investigate the happens of the house while also help the lords nephew with his severe nightmares. The Dreamwitch is releasing February 9, 2027. Thank you to Netgalley, Monique Hazel and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

i had a hunch by page eighteen that’d i’d love this book and i was correct. it was gothic, unsettling, and magical with a dreamy atmosphere. i loved every bit of this book from the plot, pacing, tension between matiah and atlas. the whole thing was very unique and i loved the lore behind dream witches. the mystery was engaging and i didn’t see that ending coming. this is a perfect read for rainy nights and those who love whodunnits with a dash of the supernatural.
