Description

Fourteen-year-old Madi arrives at her grandparents’ Florida beach condo expecting quiet days, books, and sunsets over the Gulf. She doesn’t expect Matthew—the older boy next door with the swimmer’s build, the calm confidence of a lifeguard, and a way of stepping into danger without hesitation.

Matthew saves lives for a living. He’s admired, watched, and talked about—but when he looks at Madi, he sees her in a way no one ever has. As the heat of summer builds, so does a connection neither of them knows how to name. What begins as innocent fascination deepens into something powerful, intense, and unforgettable.

Then a hurricane tears through the coast.

In the chaos and fear, Matthew risks everything in a rescue that brands itself into Madi’s heart—an act of courage that defines what love means to her, long after summer ends and they’re forced apart.

Years later, they meet again in college.

They aren’t the same people they were that summer. Madi is no longer the girl content to be swept along by emotion, and Matthew is no longer untouched by the consequences of being wanted and admired. The pull between them is still there, but so are doubt, pride, and the quiet fear that first love may not survive real life.

Some love changes you.
Some love tests you.
And some love—if you’re brave enough—lasts.

Some Love Lasts is a sweeping, emotionally rich romance about first love, heroic courage, and the kind of connection that refuses to fade with time. Perfect for readers who love nostalgic beach settings, deeply felt relationships, and stories that linger long after the final page.

This was a wonderful teenager to college and beyond sweet romance written by someone who remembers how it used to be when love was pure.

I loved the tone which is very rare these days and that despite it being a romance there was no sex mentioned which most books tend to centre around.

I loved the feel and I felt like I was growing up with the characters Madi and Matthew. The way it all started as neighbours next door to each other was my favourite part and I enjoyed how they both still thought of each other over the years.

This is a really enjoyable romance told by someone who hasn't forgotten that love is really the most simplest thing. When 2 people love each other then love when they are both ready finds them.

This one was such a sweet read.

There is something really rare about a romance that takes its time and lets the feelings build naturally without rushing into anything. Madi and Matthew's story starts in the most classic way, two neighbors, a summer at the beach, that slow and innocent kind of connection that you just don't see very often anymore. And it works beautifully.

What I loved most is how the story follows them beyond that first summer. Watching two people carry a connection through the years, growing up separately and then finding each other again in college, felt very real and very earned. First love stories that actually go the distance hit differently.
The beach setting is gorgeous and the whole tone of the book feels warm and unhurried in the best way. It reads like a story written by someone who genuinely believes in love as something simple and pure, and that comes through on every page.

A really lovely, feel good romance for when you want something that reminds you why love stories exist in the first place.
