USA TODAY BESTSELLING EROTIC ROMANCE AUTHOR RELEASES 2016’S SEXIEST, SASSIEST STANDALONE NOVEL
Dylan James has no expectations when it comes to relationships. He uses women for sex. They use him for his money and power. It’s quid pro quo and he’s good with that. It works.
Beth Harrison has been burned. A recovering alcoholic, she’s tired of the lies and the game playing that men bring and has buried herself in her passion – baking – which keeps her out of the reach of booze. And heartbreak.
But as Indigo Nights opens – and Dylan and Beth find themselves captivated by one another in the first-class cabin of a Chicago-bound carrier, then stranded at the Heathrow Hilton for the night due to a plane malfunction – it quickly becomes clear that fate has other ideas.
The hotly anticipated new novel from USA Today bestselling author Louise Bay, Indigo Nights follows Dylan and Beth – in chapters that alternate between their voices – as they embark upon an unbelievably sexy, emotionally fraught trans-Atlantic love affair.
When a popular Chicago morning show woos London-based Beth with an offer she can't turn down, she finds herself in Chicago – and in bed with billionaire Dylan – with regularity she couldn’t have anticipated. She’s not made room for love in the safe, stable, perfectly fulfilling life she’s built for herself since getting sober – and she couldn’t be more nervous about what it means for her burgeoning career, her protective family, and, most importantly, her well-being.
Meanwhile, Dylan’s not without problems of his own: namely the re-emergence of his ex-fiancée, and a secret that threatens to destroy not only his blossoming relationship with Beth, but his credibility as one of Chicago’s shrewdest businessmen, too.
Frothy, fast-paced, and chock-full of fabulous cityscapes, sugary confections, and carnal encounters, Indigo Nights is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger – and is not-to-be-missed by die-hard and casual romance readers alike.

Another Hit for Louise Bay! Loved Dylan and Beth's story. This is a Standalone book but It was also great to catch up with the characters from The Empire State series and Calling me Series. I can't wait for more from Louise!
This is the first book I have read of Louise Bay and it won't be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! What do I like so much about this book? The female character, Beth, was a strong independent woman with flaws. She is a recovering Alcoholic due to tragedy in her earlier life. Beth was honest from the beginning and didn't apologize for it. She meets super hot, rich man, Dylan, on a flight to London who immediately wants to bed her. Despite her attraction to him, she doesn't turn into a simpering fool and does whatever he wants. I loved that! Dylan, who has never had to work to get a woman in his bed has to actually work for Beth's attention. I loved that as well! Dylan is another very strong, independent character who lives his life based on a women he loved in his earlier years who betrayed him. He's kept all women at arms length to protect himself. Now, what did I not like about this book? A couple of things but nothing I can ligitamitly expect the author to change or the integrity of this story is gone. The character flaws we read in this story needs to be there or this is not a story worth reading.
*** ARC kindly provided by the author, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. *** This was an easy read with little suspense or drama. So if you’re looking for something more suspenseful you’ll have to skip this one until you’re in the mood. For me it worked at the moment ;) I give it 3.5 stars! This is the story of Beth and Dylan. Beth is an alcoholic. She has been sober for 4 years and baking helped her through this hard period. After posting some baking videos on YouTube, she now gets the chance to show her skills on television. On the plane to Chicago she meets the handsome stranger Dylan. When their flight gets cancelled they have 1 hot no-strings-attached night. Will they manage to keep it to 1 night only or will fate interfere? Dylan had a bad experience with a woman and doesn’t trust easily. He doesn’t want to attach anymore but Beth is something else. Do they have a chance? Will it still work when secrets are revealed? I loved both characters. Beth is a strong, young woman. Dylan seems arrogant but he is just honest, kind, confident, protective and possessive. I liked the story and the writing style but I’m not a big fan of insta-love and that did go a little bit too fast for my liking. In this book we get introduced to some likeable characters such as Beth’s brother Jake and his wife Haven. But also to Haven’s brother Luke and his wife Ash. Both couples have their own books. For Jake and Haven's story, read What the Lightning Sees. For Luke and Ash's story, read The Calling Me Series
Dylan is quite the possessive boy, “I’m okay, I just didn’t like the way he was looking at you. I’m the only guy who gets to have dirty thoughts about you.” I ground my hard-on into her stomach." Beth sometimes has to set some boundaries, “I’m building a pillow wall. I need to sleep tonight, and won’t if we’re lying naked next to each other.” Dylan can be an impatient man, he sometimes has no sense of direction, “come on. I need to see you to believe you’re real.” He pushed open the door to our right. “***t. Bathroom.” I laughed as he tried the next one. “Effk.” A closet. I circled my hips, desperate to pull him into me. “Where’s the effing bedroom?” I really enjoyed this book, I loved Dylan.
a sexy standalone read. Dylan (8a) and Beth are perfect for each other
This is the first book I have read by Louise Bay and after having finished it I had to ask myself why. In addition to this being a thoroughly enjoyable read, which grabbed me right from the start, it introduced me to a new book boyfriend. It is a well written, sexy, sensual romance story that will grab the reader right from the start and keep them engaged for the entire book. Yes, there are plenty of hot steamy scenes between Beth and Dylan, but the author delivers a wide range of emotions throughout the entire book. It has great characters that are three dimensional with flaws and vulnerabilities. The author takes us on an emotional journey as these two characters find each other and themselves. I love books that are character driven and Louise Bay has certainly created memorable characters. I will definitely be reading more by this author.
4.5 Stars! Indigo Nights has a lot going for it, including a variety of tantalizing cakes, steamy sex and a hot couple that overcome their past to forge a future together. Louise Bay is a "new to me" author and I plan on reading much more from her book library. Beth Harrison is a baker and her "how to" videos on YouTube have been noticed by the weekend morning show in Chicago. She has been asked to create her luscious treats on TV, which is just the beginning of her blossoming career. Beth is a recovering alcoholic and her sobriety means everything to her. As a result, she lives in a cocoon surrounded by those that cannot hurt her or break her heart. Meeting successful and gorgeous businessman Dylan James changes her life forever. Dylan is lives in Chicago and Beth lives in London. Dylan and Beth have amazing chemistry, which evolves their casual sexy times into so much more. Dylan likes to be in control in the bedroom and he does so with grace and desire. Their connection is so special, they are able to work through the bad in order to get to the good. I really enjoyed this story. Ms. Bay writes with a very clear voice and she balances the happenings with the greatest of ease. If you enjoy a novel with a strong heroine and a hero that just won't give up, then check out this touching read. Overall, this is an exciting book that twists and turns in all the right places. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.
Best book ever by Louise Bay ! I absolutely loved it. Ok so first off the cover! WOW. love it. If i havent read one of Louise Bays books before and seen this in amazon i would deff buy it. Its intriguing and i love how everything POPS out at you. The story line?! Well thats even better. Dylan is a guy who had his heart broken one too many times and vows to never date again until Beth comes along. Beth is a girl who has also had her heart broken wayy to many times to even count. She's an alcoholic, a mother to a angel baby and things are just not ok with her. But then she gets called to Chicago to meet with a TV Producer for a show for baking. Everything is to real. Its nothing fancy but just every day things that just MIGHT happen to anyone. They have real problems and they are facing them. Ever heard Loves comes when you least expects it? Well this is Dylan and Beths story. A multi-billionaire and a woman who gets found on a site called youtube. (Ok so not very realish but you get my point) The story is very good and i would deff recommend this book. I would also reread this book again. The whole story line is very good. And Dylan is just so sweet and Beth is really sweet too. You WILL fall in love with theses characters. That is a given! If you've never read Louise Bays books you are REALLY missing out.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review. This was a sweet love story between two people with a little baggage. It wasn't dark at all, it was light and funny and I really enjoyed it. Beth Harrison has a past that she's come to terms while she thinks her world is fragile, she is about to find out just how strong she is when Dylan James barges into her life. Dylan James has been existing and when he first lays eyes on Beth, deep down he knows she's a game changer. It takes him a while to admit this to himself but once he does, he doesn't give up. While this story was a little predictable, it was also refreshing because it wasn't dark and full of drama. I enjoyed their companionship and liked watching them get to know each other. Definitely a book you want to read that will remind you how easy loving the right person can be.
Brilliant book - Dylan is a hot guy who is attracted to Beth a recovering alcoholic, who he meets on a plane. Both are attracted to each other but are complete opposites: where Dylan is confident and goes after what he wants , Beth is somewhat cautious and frightened that having a sexual fling will make her lose her sobriety again. I'm surprised the steamy sex didn't blow up kindle. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it wasn't dry or dull and kept my interest until the end. It's definitely a book I would recommend and the author will be on my favourite list of authors.
5 Chocolate Mousse Stars. This book first grabbed my attention by the cover. This book is more then what is in the description, more then just a one night stand becoming your forever. Both Dylan and Beth have demons from their past they have to battle. The situation with Beth (don't want to put as it may be a spoiler) I have never read in a romance novel before, but I'm glad because it's something people struggle with everyday in real life and felt the author handled it well. The connection and Chemistry between them was hottttttt. I have never read this author before but I will now go back and read about the previous couples that were secondary characters in this book.
Thanks for letting me review this book. I love when erotica novels actually have a plausible story line - thanks Louise Bay! The characters in this were well developed and my attention was held throughout by the fact that they connected on an emotional & intellectual level and weren't just consumed by lust. I would happily read more about Beth & Dylan.
What came over me that made me stop reading Louise Bay’s gems for such a long time? I must have gone mad because after reading Indigo Nights I guarantee that I’m not going to do that again. Indigo Nights is the story of how Beth Harrison met Dylan James and fall madly in love. Although is a standalone, it’s relate with What The Lighting Sees series since it’s the story of Jake’s sister. Everything starts in a plane at the Chicago airport. Beth is returning home, London, after coming to the US to discuss a business deal with a Chicago TV chanel which offered her to become the cook on their Sunday breakfast show. As for Dylan, he is going to London to negotiate some deals concerning his business. But, under some “inconvenient” circumstances, the flight is being canceled and they end up staying in a hotel. Soon though, they indulge in being each other’s lover for the night. But, after that night, Dylan is determined to let her slip that easily through his fingers. So, little by little, they start getting more close and sharing more intimate experiences. This scares both, for different reasons each, but the pull, the passion there is between them and the magnificent love that is steadily growing, aren't allowing them to let each other go. Each encounter of theirs brings them more and more close to the inevitable HEA while, for them to be together, it encourages them to get over their biggest fears and slam shut the door at the Past’s face. What more wonderful and heart-warming than witnessing two people, who love each other deeply, to be willing to beat everything that haunts them down so they can move on and live the future they so desperately want! As for the encounter I said before? Swinging between intense, HOT, steamy HOT, funny, sweet, swoon-worthy and, some times, heart-breaking and sad. But each one of them adds something amazing to the story making it complete and you unable to resist loving it with all your heart. Louise Bay once again proved to one of the most amazing new authors who can effortlessly captivate you into their world. Her writing is spellbounding and is flowing so easily like water that, when I reach the end of each of her stories, I haven’t realized how fast the time went. Her stories are beyond enjoyable and her BFFs are some of the best, most irresistible, most amazing and HOTTEST ones they exist. I can’t wait to see what other gem she has up her sleeve! The waiting for the unknown is killing me…….. :p
“Cake and orgasms – life didn’t get much better than that.” Dylan and Beth! I adored them! Beth is an alcoholic. She’s been sober for a few years but she’s never had sober sex. She started baking to focus on something else. Her baking leads her to her home city of Chicago. On the flight back to London, she meets Dylan. Broody, serious, gorgeous Dylan, who turns out to be dirty-talking, downright sexy Dylan! Dylan was jilted years ago and now plays the field. Beth’s vulnerability and honesty hooks him in, and his possessiveness and tenderness of feeling for her surprises him, but doesn’t deter him from pursuing her. They both want transparency in their relationship but Dylan is hiding a secret that could break Beth’s trust. This book was seriously hawt! The chemistry between them was incandescent, and the ingredients of cake, sex and orgasms really worked for me! One of my new favourite reads from this author!
I was hooked from the first chapter. I loved the story. I loved the characters. Beth is a recovering alcoholic who hasn't been in a relationship since been dry, no sex either. Dylan also has not been in a relationship since being ditched by his fiancé for a richer man years earlier. Dylan is now an uber rich and not looking for a relationship, hookups work just fine. After meeting on a plane and having that instant connection, a one night stand seems in order. Both, it seems cannot just leave it at one night and this is the beginning of a super hot relationship involving lots of sex and, cake. Beth does not however realise that Dylan is her boss and, of course it has to come out in the worst possible way, in the papers. I saw the train wreck coming, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Can Beth Forgive Dylan? Will true love conquer all? Both of them it would seem are harbouring secrets. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Highly recommend.
That's right, I read this book in 24 hours. I recognized Beth from the Calling Me Series featuring Luke and Ash. I loved that I was familiar with the character. I like books that are not filled with a lot of drama and suspense, yet still manages to captivate. It's easy when you feel and instant connection with the character through the words of the author. There's nothing wrong with steamy sex that features chocolate mousse either. Dylan and Beth both had issues, him dealing with a broken heart that led him to being a one-night stand kind of guy, and Beth trying to keep her sobriety at bay. I was so glad that this book did not leave me with a cliffhanger, and making me wait for the next installment that would end up the same way. I would have been so disappointed and aggravated. In my opinion cliffhangers don't belong in this genre. I hope that the author continues to deliver books in this fashion as I would be more inclined to read them.
Louise certainly knows how to write a hot and steamy romance and this is definately that. Dylan and Beth together have a scorching connection, can something so casual lead to more?
Mr. 8A must be the best looking man in the world with the way the flight attendants are chattering about him and when he arrives Beth has to stare. What she doesn't expect is for him to be staring back or for him to track her down when their flight is cancelled. Stranded due to weather, Dylan offers a proposition of dinner and sex, but only when Beth wants it. After a three year slump and overcoming her alcoholism, Beth hasn't had a man in quite a while and Dylan's offer is a hard one to refuse. One night soon becomes two and they have to ask themselves if fate has interfered. The only thing better than cake is cake with a side of orgasms... If that doesn't grab your attention then you're going to miss out. I was happily surprised by this book, definitely not what I expected and I think I've found a new author to add to my TBR list. Equal parts erotic and romantic, Indigo Nights tell the sexy story of baker Beth and her one night stand with wealthy Dylan. I genuinely enjoyed both characters, like all characters they had annoying tendencies, but otherwise Beth and Dylan were some of the most well rounded characters I have read in quite a while. Through dual POVs, Louise Bay builds up the character's backgrounds, their future plans, and their distinct differences. Then, with a style only romance writers have, she brings the two loveless souls together for some passionate one-night stand sex, that soon turns into nights two and three. While things moved quickly it didn't feel forced and came across very realistic. I have seen relationships form in just three days time, so the lust and emotions building between Dylan and Beth felt natural. With plenty of sex scenes, Louise Bay delivers an emotive romance story that will grab readers from the very start. Indigo Nights is a standalone novel, however there are other couples in this novel that have their own series you can read as well. I did not read these and they did not take away from the overall story, however I will be picking them up.
Louis Bay you did it again. I loved What The Lightening Sees and Calling Me Back Series, so i was so excited to dive into Indigo Nights. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. As a matter a fact, i think this may just be the best book yet. I loved everything about it. I did not put this book down from the time i started until i got to the very last page. I will read anything Louis Bay puts out at this point. I will definately be recommending this book to my friends. If i could give it 10 stars i definately would. Amazingly sexy, smoking hot story. FLOVED IT!!!!
3.75 Stars Louise Bay is a new author to me and I found myself enjoying the read. The story line of Indigo Nights is beautifully written sensual romance that grabbed me from the first chapter. The chemistry between the main characters jumps of the pages. Beth is a recovering alcoholic who fears are real and is written in a way that showed her strengths as well as her what she thought were her weaknesses. Dylan is a “man-whore” who possesses power, control, and dominated anything or anyone that he comes in contact with. Will Beth change his ways or will he crush her in the process? I found the characters to develop throughout the story. Beth is passionate about those who she loves but her inner circle is very tight and there is only one person she trusts, her brother Jake. I found Beth to be at a believable character that I could relate to easily. She seems to replace alcohol with baking and is now stumbled upon a career with her hidden talent. Will the pressures of a career in the spotlight send her back to alcohol? Beth needs to find her triggers and manage them but she also needs to not fear living. Dylan has been crushed in the past and now he is a one-night stand kind of man. He comes across as handsome, powerful and sensual. I found that I liked Dylan more because he did fear relationships but due to a real reason not just because as some men do in life. His journey from the carefree “man-whore” to possibly something more was well written and inspiring. I loved how we saw his growth. Author Louise Bay has a gift for writing, she provides an emotional journey for Beth and Dylan to the reader that jumps off the pages and embeds the reader in another world. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
I really enjoyed this book, it was an easy read. I loved Beth's open honesty and the way she let down her guard for Dylan. And for Dylan I really enjoyed seeing him grow emotionally and finally realize what it was that was most important to him. I felt overall that the ending fit the whole of the story, but for me I wanted something a bit different. Anyways, if you like a relatively angst free read, with some pretty hot bedroom scenes, great friends, emotional baggage and a HEAish read then check this one out.
Easy read. Feel good romantic story that is just delitfu.
This book was a surprise for me. I didn't expect to actually like it as much as I did and even though Louise Bay covered some serious issues in the book, the story had just the right amount lightheartedness and romance to make this a story that works. I really liked Beth. I thought the miscommunication at the end was a tad bit dramatic but other than that, she is a really strong female lead character and I loved how sweet her interactions were with Dylan. Their one liners and dialogue had me cracking up!
I can tell you this is the first book I have read from Louise Bay but I assure you it won't be my last. Much like Beth's baked goods in the story, Indigo Nights was a sweet, sexy, decadent treat. I was immediately drawn into Beth and Dylan's story from the get go. They first meet in first class, then when their flight is canceled, against her better judgment Beth lets Dylan charm her into bed for what they both assume is going to be a one night stand. But the attraction between them is too strong to resist and it soon leads to more. The main characters are interesting and likable, their relationship moves quickly and the sex is spicy hot. The secondary characters provide some interesting back story. By the end of the story I was loudly cheering for a HEA for Dylan and Beth. This story did not disappoint. I received an ARC fro net galley in return for an honest review.
4 Deliciously steamy stars!! This book was a great read. My first from this author, but definitely not my last. Well done!! **see goodreads for full review**
I received this book via net galley Wow....this was really good, well written with a cast of great characters. Okay it was the usual rich hot guy meets beautiful girl but what elevated this story to being so good was that you wanted it all to work out for them due to the way they were both portrayed, both with pasts and problems but you just knew they were meant for each other, and the really hot sex scenes didn't go amiss either! Thank you, a really enjoyable read
Hot Hot Hot! with helpings of Lemon drizzle. Louise Bay does not disappoint, I loved What the lightning sees and so consistent with another brilliant read. A chance meeting, a hot few one night stands that turn into more a brilliant read where you just want to lock yourself away and absorb it all. Told in dual povs so you can get into the head of each characters, I love that. Great characters, Beth is a woman with sass such a great personality and Dylan is all alpha male, demanding yet funny sweet at the same time. There's humorous moments hot moments this book has it all, Louise bay is one of those authors where you can pick up her latest book and know you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to more from Louise Bay
Lured in by the wonderfully romantic book cover, this NetGalley reviewer took a chance on this one. In the beginning, it was definitely pretty much just an erotic read. If you are looking for hot and steamy with little plot and lots of dirty talk, well, you’ve found it, folks. The main couple meets up a few times for some very graphic sexcapades. Fortunately, an actual plot does eventually begin to kick in. The heroine is a baker about to land a TV show at the network the hero just bought. He’s a work alcoholic man-ho used to getting any woman he wants without even trying. She’s afraid of relationships after being hurt and is a recovering alcoholic. He simply doesn’t want to be tied to any woman after being dumped by a fiance who once chose money over him. She lives in London, btw, but travels to Chicago often, where he lives and she used to live. So it is back and forth for both of them, because he also often travels to London, while they eventually start an actual, exclusive relationship. With the return of his conniving ex and the fall-out from his stupid mistake in not revealing he owns the station, this books ends with a pretty predictable HEA outcome. To be honest, it felt like a longer version of an x-rated Harlequin novella. Yes, we wind up with a groveling hero and a romantic conclusion, but this reviewer had some issues with the presentation. I found parts of it to be crass, instead of romantic, and it took me some time to begin to like the arrogant hero. With that said, I did like elements of the romantic storyline. You’ll have to decide for yourself if it is what you are looking for in your next romantic read. For this reviewer, it came across as a mostly average, steamy read that could have used a more in-depth plot. Title: Indigo Nights, Author: Louise Bay, Pages: 231, stand-alone, frequent VERY steamy scenes, crass language at times, heroine is a recovering alcoholic. (This review is based on ARC generously provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion. No compensation was paid to the reviewer. It will be posted on Amazon, Goodreads, NetGalley, and Barnes and Noble.)
This was my first book by Louise Bay but it definitely won't be my last. I loved Dylan and Beth. Now I must go back and read all of her other books :P
Wow!!! Where do I even begin?? This book was amazing!! Dylan James is my definition of perfection. He's handsome, charming, witty, rich and damn he has one filthy mouth. I swear I felt like I needed to change my panties on multiple occasions. Im addicted to this sexy billionaire and have added him to the top of my book boyfriend list of 2016. "I was part thrilled, part infuriated and entirely consumed with a desire to have her naked beneath me." "I didn’t know where to start with her. I wanted to bite, suck, kiss, lick and fuck all of her all at once. Possession was my aim." Beth you lucky woman!! Speaking of Beth, I loved her
3 Airplanes, Cakes and Oh, My Stars * * * Let's see what is on our menu today... We have a dynamic, handsome, strong businessman... With a resolute, equally strong, newly accomplished baker, unaware of her appeal... Both are stuck on a plane; flirting, banter and then.... Stuck in the airport awaiting the cancelled flight... Our man is interested enough in our gal to search her out, presenting a timely proposition of dinner, dessert and a one night of more....For that is all he is up for...She takes this all in; the offer has perfect timing as it has been quite some time...working on reinventing herself and ridding all of the demons who brought her down.... What happens is more than they ever thought...sparks... connections... and surprisingly...FEELINGS. Wrap all of this up with generous portions of Cake! What sexy fun... A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher via NetGalley for an honest review.
This is a standalone story that ties in with both the Lightning series and Calling Me series by this author, I wouldn’t say you have to read them to fully enjoy this story but I am glad I had. This is the story of a character you catch glimpses of throughout them both and it was lovely to catch up with the other characters too. I love Beth she is a great character that isn’t squeaky clean and owns up to her past mistakes including her alcoholism but sometimes she can try to compensate for those errors too much. Indigo Nights sees Beth learning to let go of some of the restrictions she has put on herself and take the chance at stepping out of her cocooned life both in making a career for herself and in letting go with a one-night stand with the hot Mr 8A she meets at the airport. Dylan is quite a character; he is formidable and turns heads so when he catches Beth enjoying an eyeful he steps in to enjoy his usual taste for hot quick unattached sex. He hadn’t banked on Beth being more than he expected, but when the hot baker disappears on him he is left wanting another slice of the cake (pun so intended). A chance encounter brings them back together but are they prepared to face up to their past lives and the mistakes that are still restricting their chance at happiness or continue to call this a one-night stand? I really enjoyed this book, it was an easy read without too much angst or drama and great characters.
Beth meets Dylan aboard a flight from Chicago to London and at first it was only suppose to be a one night stand while the two waited for their canceled flight to be rescheduled. However, things quickly changed between the two when they meet up again at the airport. For several weeks after the two would meet either in Chicago or London and their feelings progressed rather quickly. What was supposed to be a one night stand turned into love. I really liked this story, I have read other books by this author and this was just as good as the other ones. However, I did feel like the ending was rather abrupt and missing closure. The author left me wondering if their will be more to this story.
I was given a copy of this book by netgalley for an honest review. I've been waiting a long time for this book, I remember reading the synopsis on Goodreads and thinking I've got to check out this book. So I was super excited to get a copy from Netgalley and I am very happy to say that I really enjoyed the story between Dylan and Beth. In first chapter Dylan comes off as hard ass player, but he redeems himself in no time. I really liked Beth's story and I overall liked how she dealt with things with one exception. I also like how Beth was strong without being in your face and over the top. As I said Dylan redeemed himself in my eyes in no time, and I really liked him and how he treated Beth. I was very sad to realize that the end of this story was coming, not because it didn't feel complete, but more because I really enjoying the characters and I didn't want it to end. I am definitely going to check out Louise Bay's other stories.
I always feel a little naught when I pick up a book that's been labelled as erotica. To me that genre used to mean a book full of sex but no proper substance. I have now changed my mind. Beth was a very likeable character. Strong woman with a weak past. She knows what she wants and really seem to be the more grown up person in the story. Dylan started off as an arrogant I-am-your-love-god kind of guy, but soon turned out to be the more romantic of the too. He turned a little too quickly for me - I was expecting him to play a little more hard-to-get character. Both characters had a sad story in the past that shaped them into who there were when they met and thanks to those good back stories the book was made more believable. I always look at books I can relate too, that I can believe in. characters should be easy to imagine and the paths they take should be natural and I think this books ticks the boxes. This is a quick read romance well told I Louise Bay is an another I will look out for. And as I love baking too it was just a little more personal.
3.5 stars Predictable and full of cheese BUT hot as hell with well developed characters Indigo Nights uses the same formula as The Empire State Trilogy, which worked really well for me. Now while I thought this was hot and I loved both Dylan and Beth, parts of this dragged and the urge to skip ahead was high. I can't fault the writing; the people or the whole idea but for me it was missing that extra bit of excitement. A bit of drama or angst was needed. It didn't even have to be anything major - just something to keep the reader really infested in the story and the pages turning.
Hats off with the attractive cover👌🏼amazing couple n explosive chemistry . This is my first Louise bay book n am not disappointed! Lots of romance n sex with reference to cakes😃A cute and romantic story with an awesome leading lady n oh my god so hot guy! Loved them.both .. Not to be missed book for sure . Dont want to give away too much about the book but ull love it! Thanks to netgalley n the publisher for this copy ..
If you are looking for a dreamy hot alpha male billionaire story, look no further! First off, I absolutely love, love my new book boyfriend Dylan James. He is so a hot, dirty talking, super sweet, caring, and head over heels, in too deep to realize. Well, he did have a few issues by not telling the complete truth, but you have to give him a break as he did admit he was new to relationships. I am having a love/hate relationship with Beth. After being burned and becoming an alcoholic, she has some issues, which is understandable. Many trust issues plus she went way too far and held my baby Dylan to a higher standard than anyone else. She wasn't as forgiving and didn't even tell him her deepest secret even after she admitted she was wrong too. grrr! And what woman can really eat that much cake??? We wish! lol For as the author, I absolutely love her writing and the love story that she had to tell. This story was super hot with solid characters you can really connect with. I couldn't put this book down even though my irritation level really got high during towards the end. The story has a typical twist where you know something is going to happen to break these two apart. I knew it was coming and I didn't want to read it. That's how connected I was with the characters. I guess that's a good thing but knowing that there is a happy ever after coming I dealt with it and loved most of the ending. This is the first book I've read by Louise Bay but I already went and download another book series by her because I really, really enjoyed this story. For a different and unique twist on a billionaire story, this is one author to watch and get involved with her stories.
Dylan and Beth both have been hurt in the past and are wary of relationship. Dylan focusing on his work and Beth focusing on her sobriety. Will these two be able to move past their previous heartbreak and find love in each other’s arms? These is a wonderfully romantic read with plenty of drama, I really liked both characters and the story has plenty of steam. The chemistry between Dylan and Beth is hot. A wonderful romantic read.
I really liked this book. https://s2.netgalley.com/catalog/publishersThis was the first book by Louise Bay that I read and I immediately went back and bought two more of her books! I liked how the relationship between Beth and Dylan developed from a one-night stand to a true relationship. I also liked that it addressed alcoholism and that the heroine was the alcoholic., This was the first time I read a romance novel with the heroine being the alcoholic. Overall, an excellent read and extremely steamy!
Why you should read it: A super fun read chock full of lovable characters, delicious cake, and two equally sexy protagonists! “I want to be the man who deserves you.” I REALLY enjoyed this book. Both Dylan and Beth were at a point in each of their lives where they could “take it or leave it” so to speak. Their relationship progressed with mutual satisfaction while Dylan and Beth's feelings were on equal footing the entire story. Never did one of them become dependent on the other and I LOVE that. Sometimes it's great to read a story where both the man AND woman have money rather than the man having billions while the woman lives in a trailer park. Don't get me wrong, being swept away Cinderella style is definitely a fantasy but being on even footing is way more satisfying. The characters' interactions felt genuine while still being funny. It's not too serious but definitely still a good read. Rating: 4 Stars
Louise Bay literally blew my mind with her stellar writing and just the amazing story she presented. I immediately was pulled in when I was introduced to Beth and I loved being able to go along her personal struggles and accomplishments throughout the book. I thought Louise did a pretty decent job of demonstrating some of the struggles recovering alcoholics go through and watching Beth go through this and see how she coped by baking was very neat. I also loved Dylan and I loved how he didn't try to push Beth to talk about her problems with alcohol at the beginning unless she wanted. I thought the relationship between Dylan and Beth was absolutely stunning and I really enjoyed watching both of them learn to love again. Overall, this was a really great read and I highly recommend it!
I thought that this was hot and steamy! Mr. 8A! Yeah he sounded stern and rigid at first, but it worked for him. Dylan is a playbook and rich at that. Beth has had issues in the past. She is a strong character and funny too. This as a good read and not bad either. It had just the right amount on angst. I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley!
I always jump at the chance to read books by Louise Bay. I love her characters and the stories she writes for them. This book is a standalone, however, it connects to two previous books (each is a novella series) and I am always happy to revisit characters I fell in love with. This novella take s an interesting twist as well because one of the main characters is a recovering alcoholic and being inside her thought process was unique. Beth and Dylan are both complex characters, each of them shaped by a complicated past. They certainly aren’t one dimensional and watching them grow and learn throughout the story is fascinating. Beth had me waffling sometimes, I wanted to always like her, but there were small moments when I was frustrated with her actions and the thoughts that spurred them. However, I couldn’t let it detract from my rating because I’ve never been in her shoes. I think that’s the point though, she’s not your typical heroine for a romance novel, she’s fighting to find her place in her life, a sober life, and has a hard time not judging her every thought based on what she would or has done in the past. She is so scared of where she was, so afraid to make the same mistakes, she loses sight of the fact that she can trust herself to make decisions. She forgets that those bad choices were affected by alcohol and not her own rational and sober thought processes. It makes the realization that much sweeter when she learns to trust herself. Dylan…how could I not fall for Dylan? He has quite the history as well. It has shaped and molded him into someone who if solely focused on his work, with the exception of having some meaningless fun between the sheets. However, it doesn’t take long to see that there is so much more under the surface and as the book continues, right up to the end, we see more and more of those layers. Watching him change and fall in love is fun and full of moments that will make you swoon. He doesn’t even recognize the signs and feelings in the beginning and when he does, it’s cute how shocked he is, but how he dives right in, willing to see them through. The situation between Beth and Dylan is an interesting twist, because I think it’s the opposite of what we expect from a hero and heroine. Usually, it’s the man putting the woman on a pedestal, and while Dylan worships Beth, he sees the real woman, the human woman who isn’t perfect. However, Beth puts Dylan up in that impossible position where slipping off the pedestal is pretty much inevitable. Like all of Louise’s books, Indigo Nights is sexy and steamy, so hot! The book moves at a great pace and despite them living on separate continents, the author didn’t spend too much time in the sections where they are not together. We get to focus on how they grow when they ae together instead of spending time watching them pine for each other…that can get really boring. This story picks right up and I had no trouble going straight through until I was at the end and wishing there were more because I didn’t want to say goodbye to Dylan and Beth yet. I recommend any of Louise’s books and this one is definitely a winner in my book. It is definitely on my reread list!
I absolutely loved this book, what more could you want than a hot man who loves a woman that eats cake!!! From the moment I picked up my kindle I was blown away by the chemistry between Dylan "Mr 8a" hot sexy businessman and Beth goddess of all things sweet and sugary goodness. Beth is described to be 50's style glamorous with long black hair putting me in mind of a mixture of Dita Von Teese and cooking icon Nigella Lawson. Exciting read with some very hot sexy moments, Louise Bay's writing is so magical that she knows how to draw you into a story and make you want it never to end. This book is so good I would quite happily read it over again and still want more.
Okay, Just Wow. Indigo Nights is a wild, sensual, romance ride. Dylan James and Beth Harrison could be one of my favorite literary hookups of the year. For a second I thought it might be too crude...okay, half a second, or a split second -then I decided it is a wonderful contemporary story of two passionate people. Warning: cake and orgasms ahead.. The characters are well developed and the turn of the story was surprising to me. Louise Bay just became one of my favorite authors and I believe that means she's in good company. Loved. It. Big. Time.
Louise Bay had me at cake!! Beth is a recovering alcoholic who loves to bake. Dylan is a billionaire who's heart is frozen until fate would have them sit next to each other on a plane. I liked that Bay made sure Beth addressed her alcoholism with Dylan and it stayed as a thread through out the whole book. I freaking loved that Dylan was always willing to eat cake or desserts with Beth, since that is my favorite thing ever. The road to love is never easy, but Bay does it with style and believably.
Thanks to Net Galley and Louise Bay for the free advance copy. I am sorry that i didn't start this book sooner-but I was a bit backlogged. Wow what a fun ride!!! Not for anyone under 18! It has a wild beginning and it doesn't really slow down. This is fiction so why not make it fun and crazy...Dylan and Beth are a fun couple. Great read and I will definitely look for other books by Louise Bay. Give this book a try.
Well, well, well… I didn’t knew the Author, Louise Bay, but let me say that after reading Indigo Nights, I’ll definitely look for more of her books. Cakes + Orgasms = Love story This book gave me a few hours of happiness, with the perfect mix of the best recipes: steamy scenes, sexiness, pastries, love, a little of angst and the cherry on the cake: I didn’t want the story to end when I reached the last page. From the beginning, I love the storyline, the succession of events, the characters. Beth is recovering but she’ll find out that she’s strong. Dylan is a “manwhore” because of his scars, but he’ll find himself again with his Beth. This story could have been really cheesy, but it was so well handed, so well written, with the best recipes, the perfect baking and cooking time, this only could end with an excellent taste, a really good cake I you want an easy reading and a great writing, and having a really good time, this is book is for you. I’d really like to thank the author for the story.
This is the first book I’ve read from Louise Bay and I have to say, it was a fun read. What’s not to like about great chemistry and cake? Just like a yummy dessert, Beth and Dylan were sweet, sinful and totally scrumptious together. If I’m being completely honest, things between Dylan and Beth happened a little too quickly in beginning for me. It’s on a flight from Chicago to London were they first meet. I hadn’t exactly fallen for Dylan at that point or even gotten a glimpse of what he was hiding under that douchebag façade when she fell into his bed. Like Beth, I tried to take their first encounter for what it was – just a little fun. With no expectations, there’s no disappointment. “Darlin', I told you I was going to make you see stars.” It wasn’t until I got a deeper understanding of their baggage and motives that I found myself rooting for them to take the next step. Beth found her passion for baking after making the decision to get sober three years prior and Dylan sort of accepted that relationships weren’t for him after being dumped by his fiancé. But there was no denying that things between Dylan and Beth were different for both of them. They had a spark that made sense and I got it. I saw it, I felt it and I didn’t want it to end. If you indulge in steamy romance novels, I highly recommend this book. It’s incredibly hot, low on the drama scale and the desserts only added to the fun. And Dylan! Sweet, sexy, supportive and always willing to order dessert - what else could a girl ask for?
Great freaking book! I loved it! Wow! I haven't read this author before, but I am glad I picked this one! I want to read more from her now! Everything was good and I don't know where to start. Dylan was a charming, sexy, good looking, sweet, kind hearted sex god. He really doesn't start out that much of a jerk like most boy meets girl. I thought he was sweet and he sure wanted her to feel good. He really cared for Beth right from the start. He was upfront and honest about everything. I like his determination to stay away from his ex too. He was upfront about everything but one thing...it bites him. I loved him from the start and I liked that I didn't have to not like myself for it because he wasn't a douche at first! Beth, what a strong woman. She has overcome a great deal and is going strong. Being a recovering alcoholic and staying sober is a very difficult thing to do. She did it and finally got comfortable in her own shoes! I like that the new Beth knew what she wants and is secure in her sexuality. I admire her in so many ways. She did have her short comings in that she didn't trust her gut feelings and wanted to abandon ship at times. I am glad she had good friends that put her right! I loved Beth! Wonderful wonderful story! Go read it!! Received an advanced copy from the publisher through NetGalley for a honest review
This book was fantastic. The writing, the characters, the storyline - all of it!
Beth is a baker who is based in London but when discovered on youtube is flown to Chicago to test for a tv show. She has a bit of a mysterious past and is a recovering alcoholic. She's lived a controlled life for the past 4 years, but on the flight to Chicago when she encounters bad boy billionaire Dylan, she throws caution to the wind and lets her desires lead her. Dylan accepts her for who she is and wants to continue seeing her despite their distance. He wants to keep her in Chicago and in his life. They have some hiccups along the way, but the story is a fun and cute one, definitely recommend.
Light and frothy, your typical romance misunderstandings to move the plot along. Hot hero, beautiful heroine, steamy sex scenes. An enjoyable read, pleasant distraction, basically perfect typical contemporary romance.
Delicious! Beth is a YouTube baker that's in Chicago for a business trip. She's been offered a TV spot. Dylan is a business man who owns several companies. What will come after a passionate one night stand? I can say with total honesty that I loved this book. Let a begin with the story. We follow two strangers that meet on a fly from London to Chicago. They end up sleeping together and finally getting to know each other. She's a YouTube baker (a baking guru?), and recovering alcoholic that's about to get a television slot. He owns companies, buys broke one's and fix them before selling them. As far as I can see, they have nothing in common. But the chemistry is amazing. Both characters are very well defined and presented. I found myself caring for them, and connecting with them. The secondary characters were also incredible. I want to know more about them. The way they interact with the main characters is very natural and it doesn't feel forced. It's not like "let me just talk about the story". We get a real conversation and real people. I enjoy that in a book. And finally, the steamy bits.... well, let's just say Mr. A8 can call me any time. They were great, didn't felt cheap or fake. 4/5 stars for me.
First, the cover is FANTASTIC. I love it, so kudos to whoever designed it. Okay, now to my review. You know the saying, "it's not you, it's me."? Well, I feel like that statement applies in regards to my reaction to this book. I probably read this at the wrong time because after having consumed a series of books where insta-lust and immediate copulation opens the pages, I think I just might be tired of that scenario. It's nothing against this particular author or this particular story, but I'm just oversaturated right now with this trend. Almost immediately I found myself wanting to know more about who the characters were and how they got to the point in their lives that brings them to the opening scenes of this tale. We got a bit more of that with Beth, but Dylan read like any one of the many interchangeable rich, alpha manwhores that are so prevalent in books these days. It might be had I read this book before several similar ones I'd have loved it, but at this point in time I just want more from a story. Deeper connections, more flushed out characterizations. Heroes and heroines who stay with me long after the pages have been turned and who don't all blend in to one. I am conflicted about even leaving this review right now because I don't think it's a clear indication of the author's skill. I think I'm going to leave the book on my Kindle and maybe come back to it later for a re-read when I'm not tired of the genre. So many people have left such high praise for Indigo Nights that I want to give Bay another chance to impress me. I'm going to wait to post anything on Goodreads until then because I want to be completely fair.
Hot but with enough of a story line and drama that kept it from being just another book filled with sex and no depth. Enjoyed a lot. Can't wait to read more.
I was grateful to recieve a free. Opy of Indigo Nights. What a great read. I loved Beth and Dylan from the beginning. The chemistry was there, and the storyline kept moving. Overall, great book, and one I would recommend.
I saw this book blurb, it looked pretty steamy. I didn't know that it was another billionaire meets beautiful poor girl story. Honey, let me take you away from all this.... yeah yeah. No, it's not that. I read on. It was a billionaire hunky guy alright. But the girl/woman was not poor. I couldn't get how she made her money. Beth flies 1st class London to Chicago & back countless times. She's moving up from YouTube baker sensation to having her own TV cooking show. I guess this is book 3 in a sorta series. Beth's brother Jake made some bucks in the previous books that I didn't read. Yet. Maybe. There's some (a lot of) sparks between Beth and Dyan when they first meet. Then Beth acts like she couldn't care less. But she does. She's just focused on staying sober. She had a bad relationship & break up when she was at her alcoholic- lowest. Dylan is wary too. These two beautiful people had been dumped on. The POV is 1st person alternating Beth, then Dylan, which I really liked. I'm a reader that doesn't mind internal dialogue. It was done in small doses & really moved the story along. I saw this book on my friend seton's shelf. She mentioned Ms Bay's heroines being major pains, or something like that. I was little frustrated with Beth. I loved how independent she was. Beth and Dylan had smokin' hot sex. She would then take off almost like she couldn't be bothered . She was aloof, but would tell Dylan (and herself) how much she wanted to be with him. She was afraid of getting hurt again. I get it. Dylan was very sweet to Beth. The first 40% or so was each telling the other that this was just casual- but exclusive. Beth lived in London and Dylan lived in Chicago. Beth flew back & forth Chicago to London. She baked cakes. She ate cakes- every chance she got. There was a little ow drama I really liked the way Dylan handled the ow. Beth waffled a lot re her reaction to the ow (Dylan's ex). Another h frustrating moment for me. There was a great ("sweet") grovel from Dylan. I thought that Beth milked it a bit much. Talking to each other would have helped! Beth came around- thank the lord + she wised up in time. The ending was short but cute. Very short epilogue. My first book by this author. Reminds me, a little, of Raine Miller.
I received a copy of this book from Smith Publicity in exchange for an honest review. I have not read a book from Louise Bay before. However, I took a chance on this book because the blurb was really very intriguing. I like troubled pasts and alpha heroes who fall in love in unexpected place with unexpected people. That's basically what happened to this book's hero. His character is a sexy, successful man who falls in love with the heroine. The heroine, on the other hand, has her own demons and struggles. I think the character with the most development in this story is the hero. He went from being a man who enjoyed a no-strings kind of relationship to a man who was very much in love with a woman. The heroine's character also developed and grew in the story, but it wasn't as fun to watch as the hero's. The story has a steady pacing. There are some things I could easily predict, but I still definitely enjoyed reading the book. While this is my first book from this author, I can now certainly say that this will surely not be the last.
3.5 stars Indigo Nights was my first book from [author:Louise Bay|8056592]. A chance meeting in first class brings Beth and Dylan together for a "one night stand" that doesn't stay that way. Predictable and cheesy in some ways, but enjoyable banter and sexy hookups. The heroine's hangups were more realistic then lots of other books in this genre. It was an easy read without tons of angst or suspense, which can be really enjoyable every once in awhile. I love dual point of view books. Nothing wrong with the story at all, it was fun to read - but it didn't make me fall in love with the characters in a way that stays with you.
Review Submitted By: Tina for A Biblioromance Book Blog Received this ARC through Netgalley for my honest review. This is one hot read and I, for one, will never look at cake the same again! The chemistry between Dylan and Beth is is off the charts. After talking herself into having dinner with Mr. 8A, Beth finds herself having an amazing night of no-strings-attached sober sex. Dylan is used to being used for his power and wealth, and Beth only wants what makes her feel... his mouth, his hands, and his big asset. This story is told by alternating persons. I love that you get to be inside both their heads and hear their inner monologue. The ending was pretty predictable, but that didn't keep me from devouring the story every chance I got.
This was my 1st Louise Bay novel and it won't be my last. I was intrigued and hooked after the 1st chapter. I've read hundred's of novels, but only a handful captivate my interest in a manner that makes everything cease to exist until I finish the book. The banter was on point, the build-up through the novel kept my interest and the main characters fears, concerns, feelings and love were nicely tied together leading up to a HEA :)
This is the story of Beth and Dylan. One cancelled flight brought close two persons that actually needed each other for so different reasons. The story is really nice and the plot has a couple of twists but everything was quite predictable. The value of this story is in the emotions that evoked me while I was reading it, especially towards the end. The story is said by a dual POV (Beth and Dylan) and the writing is also good. Beth is a recovered alcoholic who loves to bake and eat desserts. She is a fighter and she fights daily for herself. She is patient and down to earth and I honestly liked her. She is proud and sincere, both qualities that I love in a person. Dylan is a super rich bachelor who is used to be used by women until he met Beth. I liked Dylan. He has a cold exterior but a vulnerable heart who doesn't let anyone to see or feel. During the story, Dylan changed and I really liked his determination and clarity. The last chapters of the book were intense and full of emotion. I loved the end! It was really nice! I shouldn't forget to mention that I really liked also the friends of the heroes! Raf was fun to read when he was interacting with Dylan, and Ash and Haven were great friends to Beth! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read a nice romance.
This is the first Louise Bay book I've ever read and I thought it was really good. It was a light read, it started off really sexy and good, but I thought it dragged on a bit towards the end. I loved Beth and Dylan. I liked how their relationship started off with sex, but then evolved into much more. I would have liked to learn more about Beth's relationship with her dad, but I loved how close she was with her brother and his wife. It would have been good to have some more background on Dylan, I feel like I barely learnt anything about him other than him other than his work history and his persistent ex fiance. I liked that it had an HEA, I love happy endings.
3.5 Stars – Great Cover! ARC received via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book I have read by Louise Bay and was really pleased how fast past and interesting the story turned out. Both characters were well written with plenty of steamy scenes albeit a bit cheesy at times. I noticed no grammatical errors. H/h meet on an airline flight and instant sparks fly which leads to a one-night stand that becomes much more. The chemistry and plot was believable and not at all contrived. If you’re looking for a quick sweet story without a lot of angst, this is it.
I'm a sucker for romance and erotica connoisseur and with that Combined makes a lovely story. I positively love the story of death and Dylan's story. 4 stars.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved, loved this book! Beth and Dylan are awesome characters. The honesty and chemistry between them was great and it was good to see that there was some real flaws with the characters. I didn't connect this book to either of the previous two until halfway through which was the best part and you didn't have to rely on those characters to complete the story. I would recommend this one to everyone!
***ARC Provided by the Author and NetGalley*** I liked this one from the start. I liked Dylan and Beth, although I felt that Beth was possibly a more developed character and Dylan was, a lot of the times, not quite as developed. The story was not the most original, but while a bit predictable, still enjoyable. The first meeting on the plane was intriguing, and I loved their initial "encounter" and how it told you a little bit about who they each were in a single scene with an initial look across the aisle of a plane. The relationship develops from there, and I like that both of them were OK with their meeting being a one-night stand that neither of them are willing to let go of and both see as more. I liked the ending and the epilogue. I find that erotic romances tend to go with less of a HEA and more of a "Happy For Now" ending, so the HEA in this was a nice change from the usual. I definitely want to read the stories of the supporting characters, although I did feel I was able to relate to the characters without having read them. I recommend this book.
5 Fabulous Friggin Fantastic KINKS!!! Louise Bay, you have a new fangirl! I’m looking for Mr. 8A in the middle of the day with a flashlight! Where is he? If I have to purchase an airline ticket from Chicago to London, I will find this man! I made the mistake of starting this book at 9pm with the intent to read the first (5) chapters. Big Mistake! This book was definitely worth the hangover the next day from lack of sleep. This is the must read book of the year yet! Simply, I freaking loved it! I knew from the first chapter I was going to be immersed into this story. I love the struggle Beth has learned to live with. It brings a depth to the story that makes Dylan appreciates Beth and wants her more than casual sex. A man doesn’t fly to London as a surprise so he can travel with you back to Chicago for a casual hook-up. (okay, you can swoon now) It’s magical, dirty, real and erotic with a side of orgasms. Who needs chocolate? This is truly a great substitute as well. You will not be able to control the increase heart rate, the sense of euphoria, the tingling sensation and the ultimate wave of pleasure. Hear what I am NOT saying. For personal reasons, I am very partial to lovers meeting at the airport, on a flight, or vacationing on a tropical island. This story hits all my Must Read Buttons: Meet cute on a flight in first class (economy is boring right!) Rich, sexy and cocky alpha male, who knows it and can have any woman he likes without any effort, traveling for business (Hot Billionaire Alert) Kick-ass heroine who refuses to fall for his game…easily (wink wink) The writing is effortless. The words flow like a seamless transition from each characters POV. Beth Harrison meets Dylan James on a flight from Chicago to London. She is checking out Mr. 8A as he settles into his seat. Even when he catches her ogling him, she doesn’t shy away that she likes what she sees. Then the fate of cupid produces a storm that cancels their flight. The perfect opportunity for a “One Night Stand” The sex scenes were phenomenal. Mr. 8A was looking for his next “lay” and what he found was the “f*ck of his life”. I apologize for being so crude with my words, but really…. sometimes “one-night stand” does not do the deed justice. I love the kick-ass attitude Beth portrays. She is on the verge of becoming the next big thing in the Cooking world. Even though she has been out of the dating game for years, she knows how to appreciate a beautiful man with a hot piece of “sticky buns” and enjoy the perks of the hot dirty sex. And Dylan James? I am still looking for you!!
These two people meet in an airport, there is a strong chemistry, they sleep together. A one night stand turns into a three night stand, which eventually turns into something even more. Feelings develop and living on two different continents, they have to find a way to make it work for them. Honesty and trust is important in any relationship, but especially in this one. This story sucked me in. I had difficulty putting it down until the couple found their happy ending. They changed each other's lives. She was different then any other woman. He treated her differently, but yet knew what she needed. There were steamy sex scenes and a couple with a strong chemistry and connection with one another. This was a good read and I enjoyed it. ARC received from the publisher for an honest review.
This was a great story - intriguing characters and very steamy chemistry. I felt the middle part of the novel dragged a little and could have been edited to make the story a little tighter. The ending was wonderful though, with a nice bow!
From the moment Dylan sees Beth, he is sure that he wants her. Beth is a little more reserved, having been hurt by a previous boyfriend when she needed him most. But there is something about Dylan that makes her want to take a chance. Between living in different countries and Dylan's persistent ex-fiance, Beth and Dylan have many obstacles to overcome if they want to be in it for the long haul. Definitely 5 stars!!
4 Stars...This was an enjoyable read! Dylan and Beth are perfect for each other...but not perfect(; It's a book thing...you'll get it after you read it! It was refreshing to have a lead female with a sensible head on her shoulders. The whole recovering alcoholic thread was covered amazingly well. I would have enjoyed the book more if I wasn't expecting the characters to do really stupid things...and I was also expecting a cliffhanger, for some reason. There isn't one. The story is wonderful. Read it for what it is. Don't expect it to fall into the cookie cutter 'super/rich/hot guy and the-one woman' mold. It does...but it doesn't(; I'd be happy to read more from this author! Well done!
This was a great read and the characters in this books were really great! Starting with Beth - I LIKED that she had flaws and she wasn't a "perfect" and "innocent" woman. Dylan was also great, but did keep some secrets from Beth. Overall, I liked how Beth had to decide she had to do what was best for herself and what made her happy. Great read (and the author made me want to eat cake during the entire book!)
Dylan and Beth were great they had wonderful chemistry the book had everything in it a great story line the characters both had a lot of issues that weighed them down and brought them problems but I loved it
4.6 guilty pleasure stars! I just love Louise Bay's books and writing style. She has this innate ability to grab her readers' minds and hearts and hold on until you love every single character. Obviously, this happened to me again while reading Indigo Nights. I knew I would be interested in the book based off of the description, but I wasn't prepared for how it squeezed my heart. She deals with real life problems (alcoholism, depression, etc.), that can very easily turn a story, but they didn't dominate or detract from the love story between our h, Beth and H, Dylan. I call that a success for Ms. Bay! As always, the writing is wonderful, the characters are extremely well written, and the plot lines maintain a realistic tone (well, besides the young billionaire boys, but what reader doesn't like those?). Can't wait to see what she brings us next! *I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars I received this ARC and fell in love with it! It had steamy moments, characters with realistic flaws and strengths and a wonderful ending. It was such a delightful read. Fun, fast paced and definitely worth the read. This book was filled with emotion and the sex scenes were incredibly well written. I would definitely recommend it to everyone out there.
I truly enjoyed reading Indigo Nights. This was my first novel by Louise Bay but it won't be my last. The fluid writing drew me so deeply into the story, I was a little sad when it ended. I really liked that each chapter switched from Beth to Dylan's POV. It is nice to be able to get in the hero's head for once instead of the entire story only focusing on the heroine's POV. Beth Harrison was a refreshing change. Her issues as an alcoholic made her more relatable than the usual, too perfect heroines in most stories. I share her love of baking and that enhanced the story even more for me, but the scrumptious descriptions also made me hungry. Dylan James was as realistically drawn as a billionaire could be -- the perfect balance of alpha hot mixed with caring. I thought they were very believable as a couple. Since this is romantic erotica, to me the romantic development was realistic. What starts as a no strings one night stands develops into more when initial attraction deepens due to time spent together. If you thrive on angst-ridden stories, this one may disappoint you, because angst seems non-existent. I never worried how this would end, I simply enjoyed the journey that the author provided. I almost did not request an ARC after reading the description because I usually avoid stories involving billionaires but I'm very happy that I did. Indigo Nights is now filed among my favorites and I will definitely check out the author's other stories in the future. *I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
This standalone is hot and romantic and just a little bit erotic at times. The main characters, Dylan and Beth meet at the airport. They start with what they plan to only be a one night stand. However, they continue to cross paths with one another and as things progress in the bedroom so do their feelings. The plot held my interest very well. I was drawn in from the beginning. The conflict and drama was minimal in this book, so for me it was an easy and laid back book to read. I really cannot find one thing that I didn’t like about this book. This is the first book that I have read of this author’s, so I can’t compare it to her others, but I can say that I will definitely look forward to reading more of her work.
**ARC Net_Galley in exchange for an honest review This is the first book I have read by Louise Bay. Honestly, I'm not sure where I stand with this one. I had to press myself to get through it. I almost gave up at about the 48% mark. And decided to continue since obviously other reviewers seemed to see something I didn't and some books don't hit their stride until late in the game, although those are generally continuing serials. That said, this book carried the same tone throughout the book. With the exception of that one relatively predictable upheaval toward the end, there were no highs and lows or inbetweens... it was flat. The characters were one dimensional exception being Jake (maybe). This book needs to be classed as YA because it seems more suited to that audience... where cake and insta love seems to rule the day. Redemptively the author writes a great note at the end of the book about alcoholism and it's devastating effects, which for the sake of her story she emphasizes, she did not go down that road.. I give her some serious applause for that commentary.
It is a well written, sexy, sensual romance story that will grab the reader right from the start and keep them engaged for the entire book. Yes, there are plenty of hot steamy scenes between Beth and Dylan, but the author delivers a wide range of emotions throughout the entire book. Both of the main characters in this book are three dimensional characters that are well developed. Beth is sassy, vulnerable, honest and scared. Dylan is controlled, powerful and yes little cocky. The author has written the characters in such a way to show their vulnerabilities so that the reader can see how they grow. I also enjoyed the secondary characters, especially Haven and Ash who both have their own stories. This is a stand alone book, so if you are new to Louise Bay and have not read their stories don't worry, it will not interfere with your enjoyment of this story.
This is one of those books that just grabs you from the beginning. I started reading and just couldnt put it down! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes their fiction with a side of erotica x
Rating: 4/5 (I received a free ecopy from the author via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.) Beth Harrison hasn't had the happiest history. After her mother passed away several years ago, she sank into a rough emotional state and numbed it all by drinking, becoming an alcoholic soon enough. Three years of sobriety and one awful boyfriend later, Beth has moved on and is making a career out of her love, baking. She's flying to Chicago to see if she's fit to be featured on a baking show on actual television. On the flight, she notices a man named Dylan James, who everyone seems to be looking at, for good reason. She's attracted to him but realizes she's probably got no chance, until she's sitting at the airport lounge and he sits with her. Their flight ends up being cancelled, and when Dylan invites Beth up to his hotel room, she accepts and things get heated quite quickly. They both expected what they had to be simply physical, but soon realize a deeper attraction is there too. The main reason I requested this book from Netgalley was because I had read Louise Bay's "Calling Me" series and I thought it was good. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this story actually intertwines with that series (I'm actually embarrassed about how long it took me to figure it out) and that Beth in this book was the same Beth that baked and made YouTube videos and attended Sunday night dinner in the Calling Me series. However, I actually liked this more than Luke and Ash's story. You might think this is just the stereotypical billionaire meets innocent girl and they hit it off and he shows her how sex should really be, and all that jazz. It does have some of those elements, but Beth is in no way some innocent flower. I actually liked her a lot, and I enjoyed watching her get over her past and learn to trust Dylan. I also liked how Dylan treated Beth, and didn't treat her like she was fragile because of her previous alcoholism, and he wasn't overpowering at all. I liked the way their relationship built up, it moved quite fast but it seemed to work for them, and didn't annoy me or anything. It also helped that they were pretty hot together. Overall, this exceeded my expectations, and I enjoyed it more than the author's other series that I read. It was a sweet romance without a cookie cutter main couple, and I thought the way they acted around each other was great. If you're looking for a romance fix and you're fine with some sex thrown in (okay, maybe it's a lot of sex) then I think this would be great for you. It's available on Netgalley until April 22nd, so grab it while you can! https://s2.netgalley.com/catalog/book/83266
