Description

Some family you’re born with, but the best are often found along the way.

Adelfried, family man and leader of his village, studied magic hoping it would bring peace. Naturally, he’s rewarded with an army at his doorstep.

Betrayal rips him from his family and throws him into the strange world of suburban America, where his magic makes him a target.

Hunted by a ruthless police force and a deadly cult, he’s forced to crash on the Harper family’s couch, the one place he can remain hidden.

He’ll explain everything to the Harpers once he learns English. Until then, paying in silver will have to suffice.

As danger closes in, Adelfried must choose between protecting the family he’s found… or finding his way back to the one taken from him.

I absolutely loved Science, Magic, and Mayhem! It is such a wild, high-energy ride that perfectly mashes together high-tech sci-fi and unpredictable magic. Caz Lewis has created something totally unique with this "reverse portal" setup, watching a science-minded hero try to make sense of a chaotic magical world is both hilarious and super clever. The action starts on page one and basically never stops, making it a total page-turner that I finished in one sitting!

The chemistry between the characters is where this book really shines; the banter is fast, witty, and kept me grinning the whole time. Seeing gadgets go up against spells led to some of the coolest, most creative fight scenes I’ve read in a long time! Even though the breakneck pace left me breathless and wishing for just a little more downtime with the crew, the pure fun factor is off the charts.

If you’re looking for a book that is pure, unadulterated joy with a side of explosions, you have to pick this up! Thank you for the ARC! Can I also have book two please?!
