Description
Coffee, Chaos, and IEPs: A Teacher’s Guide to Surviving and Thriving in Special Education provides a real-world look at the realities of teaching and special education. Written by educator and author Dr. Ryan M. Wydra, the book explores the pressure, unpredictability, burnout, humor, and meaningful moments that shape the profession every day.
Blending professional insight with personal storytelling, the book reflects on classroom experiences, IEP development, behavior management, collaboration, teacher resilience, and sustaining purpose in demanding educational environments. Rather than presenting idealized scenarios, the book offers an honest and grounded perspective on the human side of education.
The project has already reached #1 in multiple Amazon education categories and has resonated strongly with educators, instructional leaders, and readers seeking an authentic reflection on modern teaching.

We needed this book.
We as in, firstly, educators, especially teachers, those who work in SEN, and parents of neurodivergent children, and neurodivergent individuals themselves.
Wydra tells it all as is over coffee, chaos and IEPs.
It is not always rosy, but is the reality.
What stood out was how Wydra was reflective himself. Something to never give up.
