I absolutely loved this book. From the first few chapters I was completely hooked, and by the end I wasn't ready to let these characters go.

The chemistry was incredible, the emotional tension was just as strong as the romance, and I loved watching the relationship develop. It had the perfect balance of angst, spice and heart, and I found myself flying through it because I just had to know what happened next.

One of my favourite reads of the year, and I'm already desperate for the sequel. I need it immediately.

WOW! This was such a pleasant surprise!

Going into this, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but I ended up flying through it. It was dark, romantic, emotional, and had just enough suspense to keep me turning the pages. Lucien is the perfect morally gray hero—dangerous, obsessive, and completely devoted in his own twisted way. If you love a possessive antihero, you'll probably eat this up. I really enjoyed both the characters and the overall story. The chemistry between Lucien and Addie was intense, and I especially enjoyed watching Addie's character evolve throughout the novel. Their relationship had plenty of tension, and I was invested from the start. One thing I did find myself wanting was more world-building. The mafia families, the MC, and the overall criminal world were so intriguing that I kept hoping we'd dive deeper into them. By the time I was about 80% through, I had a feeling there was no way everything would be wrapped up—and I was right. That cliffhanger had me immediately wanting the next book! I also want to give the author credit for how they handled some of the heavier themes, particularly pain and trauma. It never felt like those topics were included simply for shock value; they added emotional weight to the characters and their relationship. Overall, I had a great time with this one. It was dark, addictive, and emotionally engaging, and it definitely left me wanting more. I'll absolutely be picking up the next book in the series because I need to know what happens next.

Jackie Ashenden knows how to write emotionally charged romance, and this book completely swept me away. The chemistry between the characters was undeniable, but what I appreciated most was the emotional vulnerability that existed beneath the romance.

Watching these characters slowly break down their walls and learn to trust each other made every heartfelt moment feel earned. The tension was perfectly balanced with genuine tenderness, creating a relationship that felt authentic from beginning to end.

This was an incredibly satisfying romance that kept me turning pages well into the night.

This book was so addictive. It’s been a minute since I picked up a dark romance, and damn… this one really was dark.

Astrid has so much trauma to battle, but watching her stand up to Lucien was so damn satisfying.

The emotions between them were incredibly complex, but they just worked. Every interaction felt intense, messy, and completely believable.

Such a fast-paced, addictive read, and I genuinely can’t wait to see what comes next!

This was a deliciously fun time. While I think we could have gotten more of Lucien’s backstory up front to connect with him a bit more and see more growth from him, this book really set the sequel up well to give us more Lucien and Wolf. I’ll definitely be picking that one up! If you like typical mafia-type romances this will fit the bill. A good, quick read with great pacing that left me looking forward to the next piece.

I was shocked by how much I loved this book! I really enojyed the slow burn elements of it and the spice was just *chefs kiss*. Both characters really reel you in and take you on a journey that I was not anticipating! THE PLOT? Amazing. Like no notes. At first I thought the plot might be a bit unbelievable but the author does a really good job of making it feel grounded and substantial. The fmc is also not a character I thought I would like but again the writing handles her so so well. This book is good for fans of dark romance and morally black mmcs. I can't waIt for the second book to come out and will be counting down the days!

The first page had me HOOKED.

I really enjoyed this book, especially because Astrid’s struggles with depression and the way she uses pain to cope felt very real and relatable to me. The author handled those parts really well, and I appreciated how much we got to see inside her head.

And then there’s Lucien… 🥵 Dark, cold, manipulative, and a morally grey assassin??? YES PLEASE. He is absolutely the kind of character you know you should run from, but obviously Astrid does the exact opposite 😂. Their chemistry was SO good, and I loved the whole forbidden attraction / good girl falling for the dangerous man thing. There was so much tension between them, and I was eating it up.

I also really enjoyed the mafia aspect and all the secrets surrounding Lucien. The story was simple but really effective, and I flew through it. The writing was easy to read and I was immersed almost immediately. There are definitely some Twilight vibes, which I personally enjoyed!

I also loved that this feels like the beginning of a much bigger story. There are so many directions the series could go, and I’m definitely interested in continuing to see where Astrid, Lucien, and the rest of the characters end up.

One thing I do want to mention is that this book deals with self-harm and some pretty heavy themes. If you ever find yourself in that same dark place, please reach out for help if you can. ❤️

Overall, I really enjoyed this and thought it was such a fun, dark start to the series. Give me more Lucien immediately please.

Dark, raw, intense, and sizzling! The quiet studious girl plus the hot psychopathic man equals nuclear combustion in more ways than one. Mafia, MC, power plays, violence, kidnapping, yearning, and definitely spice. You won't put it down, even after the cliff.

Rather quickly, Astrid discovers that Lucien's particularly addicting version of life, a mix of power and pain, is impossible to quit. She's sinking and he's the one to offer a hand. He's drifting and somehow, she's the one thing giving his life deeper meaning.

Irrevocably is the kind of story I savor late into the night. It's the kind of story that combines red flag, morally grey bad boys with the high-stakes thrill of mafia/gang wars and violence. And you sit back saying you'd be good and steer clear of these men in real life while knowing you'd be feral for their attention. Jackie Ashenden absolutely delivers a fantastic, page-turning, and drama-filled story that has me convinced my mundane college experience might have been missing something. (Where was my walking red flag?) And this book truly did have several themes that were quite dark. Self-harm and mental health struggles are nuanced and difficult topics to handle and she did so with integrity. This book absolutely lives up to the dark romance hype and will be a hit for romance readers who enjoy their fictional men a tad bit unhinged.

I was completely hooked from the beginning and found myself wanting to read faster and faster because I needed to know what was really going on between Astrid’s father and the MC. The tension, the secrets… I was invested!

And can we talk about a certain morally grey assassin?! 🥵 Because honestly… I’m definitely Team Lucien after reading this. There’s just something about a dangerous, morally questionable man that gets me every time. 😂

The story had me fully immersed, and by the time I reached the ending, I was immediately thinking: Okay, I NEED the next book. That ending definitely made me want to jump straight into the next part because I need answers!

Overall, this was such a fun and addictive read, and I’m ready to continue the story. 🖤

I genuinely enjoyed every single trope in Irrevocably: forbidden romance, mafia/biker gang, he falls first, enemies to lovers… give me all of it.

This book was SO good that I finished it in about 8 hours. I literally could not put it down. I laughed, I cried, I yearned, I yelled at the characters… basically, I went through the entire emotional rollercoaster with them.

And then the book had the audacity to end on that cliffhanger?! I NEED the next book immediately. I like Wolfe, I really do… but I need Lucien to come to his damn senses.

If you love messy romance, forbidden relationships, enemies-to-lovers tension, and a book that completely consumes your attention, definitely add this one to your TBR.

Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for the next book.
