In Weep in the Night the protagonist, Sadie is in witness protection program. What makes this story different then others of this genre and is there are many different parties looking for Sadie some for obvious dangerous reasons but another with a good news. The reader is constantly trying to figure out who the true bad guys are. |

I loved this book! I'd never read anything by this author before, but this book drew me in from the first page and kept me up late into the night. I kept telling myself I'd stop reading at the end of the chapter, but then I couldn't put it down. This book is about a woman whose is in WITSEC. The author does a good job of giving the reader a little glimpse of what WITSEC is like and how difficult it must be. The two main characters are likable and both are struggling in their faith in God. The book is suspenseful and keeps the reader interested. The romance is "clean" and in good taste, though predictable and lacks depth. I would highly recommend this book for a very enjoyable, clean read. |

PLOT: Took a while to get going into suspense land- it laid a good foundation before getting more intense, which was fine with me. The groundwork wasn't at all boring, and it gave us a good background to work with. SEXUAl CONTENT: Not much. A few kisses. Characters fall in love, are attracted to each other- etc. This is a romance, fyi :) VIOLENCE: Manhandling, some hand to hand combat, people get shot in a scuffle, someone is run off the road and drowns in a river (not experienced firsthand, but recounted later on) someone is drugged, another time a character tries suffocating someone with a pillow, unsuccessfully. CONCLUSION: Never read anything by Valerie Massey Goree before, but I really enjoyed this book. The suspense was great, the plot well constructed, the characters lovable and relatable, and the romance sweet. The only thing I wasn't so much a fan of was the religious content- it just didn't catch me, but I can separate that and still enjoyed this read. 4.5 Stars & I'd recommend this book for 16-17+ |

It's an entertaining suspenseful and quick read with relatable characters. The religious themes are woven into the plot in a believable way, the romance isn't surprising but sweet and the challenges they have to face kept me interested. I want to thank Netgalley for thisfree copy in exchange for my honest review. |

Sadie Malone has been in the Witness Protection Program for 3 years, following the deaths of her husband and young daughter. She and her husband were computer experts who found evidence of drug smuggling, and human trafficking by the company who had hired them. Sadie's testimony sent the owner to prison, but his son was not charged and he swore that she would pay. Bowen Boudine is an operative with International Retrieval Corporation. He has been hired by Sadie's brother-in-law to find her. He has extremely important information for her that will change her entire life. But first she has to trust him and right now, all she wants to do is run. The information he has for her sends her packing her bags and ready to go back to California. The only other person she can trust is her handler, Griff. And then he is murdered. Is there a leak in WITSEC? Bowen has sworn to protect her, but can he keep his mind on the game instead of his growing feelings for her? The trip back is fraught with danger. Some people will lose their lives, others will have their lives changed in different ways. This is a Christian Romantic Suspense. Heavy on Suspense. The characters are easy to like. Even the bad guys aren't as scary as they could be. The story line is good, even if it is a little light weight. Enjoyable read. Many thanks to the author / Pelican Book Group - Harbourlight Books / NetGalley who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. |

"Nah. It's just little ol' me." His shoulders drooped, which caught her attention. "Had a wife and little girl." Antennae now on full alert, Sadie rummaged in her purse for her keys. "What happened?" She expected to hear about a divorce, but his next words stunned her. "They were killed in a car wreck." Just like her family. Goosebumps pinpricked her arms. To hide her alarm, she pressed the car remote. Sadie is definitely living a lonely, sad life in the Witness Protection Program. She has had to be relocated already as her identity was compromised. She is forced to treat everyone she meets with suspicion. Meeting Bowen Boudine sends sparks through her from the first introduction, but she is also highly suspicious of him. He finally reveals something truly life altering to her, and that he knows her true identity. He is not the bad guy though; he is working to protect her. But his heart becomes entangled with Sadie's as well. What will they do? How could a relationship between them ever work? He also thinks that his past has too many sinful actions in it and that God and Sadie will never forgive him. She assures him that they both will forgive him. What an engaging and exciting plot in this book! Sadie and Bowen were very likable and well developed characters. But all of the characters refused to open up and share their past. They were all harboring many secrets. I would like to have known more in-depth details of exactly what happened to Sadie's family, especially why it happened. There were so many characters that I had trouble keeping up with them and their role in the story. This book would make a great movie! It also would be nice to read a sequel to know what comes next. I rated this book 4 stars and highly recommend it to those who love mysteries. I received a copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for my honest review. |

I enjoyed reading this book. After being in the witness protection program for 3 years. She's been found. Now the man that found her is helping her run for her life. She also discovers that just maybe, the child she thought was dead, might really be alive. |
