An informative book of a new family member joining. I think this would be a wonderful gift to someone expecting a second child. It does a great job explaining that mom will be away but how life can be fun and exciting with the new addition.

When I was in the hospital having baby #2, toddler #1 was home, anxious, missing me and wondering what it would be like when I returned with his little sibling. I wish MAMA'S HOME (AND BABY TOO!) existed then! The bouncy, inviting rhyme, adorable illustrations and uplifting storyline all serve to ease an older sibling's feelings as they await their Mama's return. I particularly love how relevant and developmentally appropriate the language is ("three more sleeps" is on-point for a young child's experience) and the examples of what the family does together after the baby comes home, since anticipating how one's family dynamic will change contributes to a child's anxiety. This is a great gift for expecting families!
