This book is simply exceptional in it's delivery of what a redemption story looks like. Wrap that up in an absolutely boss FMC, real London of the 1880's not just the rosy bits, lots of grovelling, strong secondary characters and amongst the best researched HR books in the market. You've got something that doesn't just deliver on the romance, it does, in all the good ways. This also delivers it in a strong narrative that never falters, whether its facing loss, cruelty or helplessness. The story takes you through all of this into hope, forgiveness and happy endings even in the midst of adversity. MMCs character is so believable, he is an idiot, not an arsehole but shows up and continues to do do.

READ IT NOW!! This one has the feels, steam, romance without loosing its soul to shimmery gowns, balls and house parties HR is riddled with. Everything you want in a HR but wrapped in a real story not fantasy.
