A Corruption of Memory is a science fiction book that is hard to put down once you start reading it. There is plenty of action in this book with minimal gore. I like how the chapters would shift between Astraeus, Earth, and other places. Even though this is a fiction story, hopefully it is a reality check to everyone that people have become way too dependent and addicted to technology, need to learn through reading, and maybe even memorize a few things. I cannot imagine a world where most people end up with dementia in their 20's or sooner if they don't have a medical procedure. I felt bad for those who were labeled as Defects/Kinkers. It showed how not everyone was given the same opportunity for a good life. The AIs, SIs, and animals made the story more interesting. The sibling relationships and rivalries were great. The book showed how a parent would do anything to save their child and how others would do anything to save face or make a buck.

I loved this book! It was a twisting story set in chilling dystopian image of the future with varied and gritty characters.
The relationships and complexity between the characters, and their imperfections made them feel very real. I got invested in the book right from the start and was excited to see how the story developed.
I was really interested in the world the author built, and in a way I would have liked the book to go a bit more slowly at the start and spend more time fleshing out the world around the characters. I did occasionally have to flick back to remember which character was which and get the names straight, but I think that says more about my memory than the authors writing. The glossary of names in the front of the book was a god send.
The authors had so many cool ideas and visions for future technology, particularly the visualisation of virtual reality and the ways it was used. I’d love for the author to keep writing more stories set in this world, I want to know so much more about the politics and backstories for the five families.
It was a great read :) please write more!
