A Note From the Publisher

Stephanie Nimmo is a writer, communications specialist and campaigner. Originally from South Wales, she has lived in South London for more than three decades. A former international marketing professional, Stephanie’s life changed dramatically
when her youngest daughter Daisy was born with a rare, life-limiting genetic condition.
She became a full-time parent carer for 12 years, experiences that led her into advocacy, writing and work focused on improving understanding between healthcare professionals, carers and patients.
She wrote the award-winning blog Was This in the Plan? and continues to write on caregiving, bereavement, disability, healthcare communication and life after loss in publications including The Guardian, The Independent, The BMJ and The Sunday Times.
In 2023, her book Anything for My Child, was published by JKP.
She now works as a communication specialist within the UK health and social care system while continuing to advocate for children’s palliative care, disability rights and unpaid carers.
