Description

In this exciting thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci, the 6:20 Man is leaving U.S soil—this time drawn into a storm of billion-dollar secrets and international power plays that could shatter the world order.

When fearless war correspondent Theresa Lee is shot on a storm-swept Manhattan street and the man she was meeting, Bill Walker, vanishes, the 6:20 Man, aka former Army Ranger turned federal investigator Travis Devine, is called in. Theresa is an investigative journalist, Walker a legendary analyst for the Five Eyes alliance that gathers intelligence that could topple governments around the world. A professional hit team has tried to silence one and snatched the other—and Devine has to find out why.

From New York’s glass-and-steel canyons to the glittering harbors of Australia, Devine is pulled into the orbit of the Woolwine empire—an Australian dynasty whose fortune makes them more powerful than some nations. Partnering with Anais Jones, a driven, Sydney-based homicide detective, he uncovers a lethal convergence of rogue intelligence operations, Russian mobsters, compromised prisons, and a quiet campaign to redraw the global balance of power.

To stop a conspiracy fueled by weaponized data and manufactured truths, Devine will have to untangle a love story that may be a lie, a rescue that may have been conjured, and a billionaire’s ambition with a body count. In a world where enemies wear the faces of allies, the only currency that matters is information—and the 6:20 Man is running out of time to keep it all from crashing down.

All In is the fourth book in the 6:20 Man Series, featuring former Army Ranger Travis Devine., who now works as a federal investigator. The book takes off quickly as Divine is tasked with investigating an attack in New York City that leave an investigative journalist near death and a key business analyst kidnapped. The investigation quickly takes a sharp turn, requiring Devine to go to Australia to find new leads on the case with no answers.

Once "down under" the action moves quickly. Devine finds himself caught in the middle of Australian law agencies while uncovering new twists and turns. Devine joins forces with DS Anais Jones, a local officer, to help try to solve the case. All fingers point to the Woolwine Corporation, a massive corporate enterprise deep in investments in AI, machine learning, data centers, and cybersecurity.

Various sub-plots emerge about the Woolwine family, and their ties to possible bad actors from Russia and the Middle East. Devine and Jones try to sort through the bureaucracy with each turn leading to more danger and action.

A timely novel with very scary implications, All In is a good choice if you like action adventure thrillers with a smattering of today's headlines thrown in.

I enjoyed the book and give it 5/5 stars.

I want to thank the author, Grand Central Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this new work.

Another blockbuster for Baldacci with plenty of action, suspense and a touch of romance at the end. Baldacci really makes us think about how dangerous data centers and AI can be without being monitored. I really enjoyed the Australian setting and felt that this was a great setting for this book. You will find plenty of twists and turns that will fuel your need to keep on reading. While this is the 4th in the series, it can be read as a standalone, but it does help to see the character development in each of the books.
While an investigator reporter was arguing with a gentleman, an intelligence operative, four masked man come upon them and tazze the gentleman, scoop him up and threw him into a van. Before the reporter could run, they shot her and left her dead. Travis Devine, a former Army Ranger now a DHS agent is asked to investigate this attempted murder and kidnapping. He is sent to Australia to follow-up with he kidnapped victim family. While there Travis is introduced to Anais Jones, who will be his liaison with the Australian Police. This is when the book really starts to explode with action, especially the connection between Travis and Anais. I could have finished this book in one day but then it would be done. I really enjoy this series and David Baldacci writing. I highly recommend this book to any reader. Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely a five star read! A truly roller coaster of a ride from one of my fav authors. Buckle up and enjoy the thrills, twists and turns, and characters. This book had everything and it was so well done - Baldacci is a masterful author. The characters were well developed and their interactions were spot on. The setting in Australia was great - a fun new place for one of my favorite characters. The storyline was in depth, engaging, and very suspenseful. A large part of the story centered on AI which made me slow down so I could read and absorb all the detailed information which was fascinating but also unbelievably scary to imagine. What an amazing read! I can't recommend this book enough - many thanks to the Author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy in exchange for my review. I eagerly await the next book in this series and any book by this Author.

When an investigative journalist is murdered on the street in New York City and the intelligence operative she was with abducted, it falls to the 6:20 man, former Army ranger turned DHS agent Travis Devine, to investigate. His probe takes him to Australia, where the involvement of the country’s richest family and outside forces endanger the balance of power in the world.

This is the fourth installment in the 6:20 man series. It is the first I have read and works well as a stand-alone.

I am not typically a fan of espionage stories because they are usually over the top. This one is not and, for the most part, is very believable. The theme is highly relevant to our present times and very scary.

Baldacci is a talented storyteller, and I couldn't put this book down. Fast-paced and suspenseful, it is a compelling read. I also gained insight into international intelligence and the ongoing battle for AI superiority. Devine’s personal story and relationships add a touch of humanity to what is essentially a great mystery-espionage narrative, as well as a cautionary tale for our times.

David Baldacci delivers another fast-paced, exciting, and thoroughly satisfying thriller with All In.

When an investigative journalist is shot on the streets of New York City and the man with her is kidnapped, Travis Devine is asked by his boss to look into the attack. The case takes an unexpected turn when the kidnapped man, an intelligence expert, turns up dead at an exclusive dock in Australia. Devine is sent there to investigate, and the mystery quickly becomes far more complicated than it first appeared.

I especially enjoyed the introduction of Anais Jones and the depth she brought to the story. Her developing relationship with Devine added another dimension, and I enjoyed watching the two of them work together to unravel the case. The Australian setting was also a great choice, providing a fresh and compelling backdrop for the story.

The plot is filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing, and I particularly enjoyed the AI theme. It was fascinating and educational while also being more than a little frightening in its implications.

Fast-moving, suspenseful, and engaging from beginning to end, All In is another clear winner from Baldacci!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving this honest, personal, and unbiased review.
