What a cool story. It's fun and quirky, giving it a lighthearted feel. Yet there's enough mystery woven in to give it that extra edge. Making it all the more interesting. It's refreshingly different, while still having the kind of supernatural elements that I love. I've definitely found a new author for my shelf.

After a magical incident saves her friends, but loses her her power, Galmadriel, an angel from heaven, awakes to find herself coming to right as a food truck is about to run her down. When she tries to stop the truck. She manages to save herself, almost passing out. She is helped by the owner of the truck, Pam, who gives her shelter, food, and a job. While trying to find out what happened in the three months she can't remember, the time between the magical incident and waking up in front of the truck with no powers, someone living by her is murdered. In between two angels showing up for her to mentor, ghosts wanting help, and trying to find out why she lost most of her power, she has a murder to solve. Will she solve it in time, or will the murder get to her first?

I found this book to be very lighthearted and fun. This book is the first in a spin-off from a previous series, which I have not read. But, don't worry, I didn't feel like I missed anything by not having read the previous series. Characters from the previous series did show up, and I liked them so much, I'm very interested in reading the previous one. Getting back to this book, it is well-written, the plot was very interesting, and fast-paced. I do wish I knew more about the powers Adriel originally possessed, because when she was able to access them, it just seemed out of the blue, and something to move the plot forward. But, it wasn't a serious problem and I could move past it. As an aside, there wasn't much romance in this book, and I really wasn't looking for some, but I wanted to mention it in case another reader is. All of the questions I had in this book weren't answered, but the plot did mostly conclude with the end of this book. I am looking forward to reading more in this series, especially to what happened in those three months! 4 1/2 stars!
