What a cute book. It is very informative, with many facts about farm life. The illustrations are cute with lots to discover. There’s quite a lot of flaps, adding even more information. I like that this book shows the farm in different seasons, and very much appreciate the „farms around the world“ bit at the end! Not just an average flap book.

My four year old daughter enjoyed this book. She especially was interested in the cows milking shed. I liked that it showed the farm in all seasons.

Learning Through Exploration

I absolutely loved this one!

Lift the Flap: Discovery! Farm manages to pack a surprising amount of information into its pages without ever feeling text-heavy or overwhelming. Instead of asking young readers to work through long explanations, it gives them short facts, questions, colorful illustrations, and 75 flaps to lift as they explore.

And the flaps actually have a purpose! They aren’t simply there for the novelty of opening something. They encourage children to look more closely, answer questions, discover additional information, and actively participate in what they’re learning.

There is so much to explore—farm animals and their babies, crops, equipment, farm buildings, jobs, animal care, seasonal changes, and even farming around the world. I particularly loved seeing the farm during winter and how the book incorporates changing seasons into the larger learning experience.

The illustrations are bright, cheerful, and packed with little details, giving children plenty to discover even if they aren’t independently reading yet. I could easily see a younger child exploring the pictures and flaps on their own and then experiencing another layer of the book while reading it with an adult.

And this absolutely has reread value. There is enough happening on every spread that children can come back repeatedly without needing to engage with every single fact at once.

After reading both the Farm and Dinosaurs books in this series, Farm was easily my favorite. It strikes an excellent balance between how much it teaches and how easy it is to engage with what it’s teaching.

This would be a fantastic choice for farm-loving kiddos, families, classrooms, homeschoolers, and libraries—and it’s absolutely one I’d consider worth owning or giving as a gift.

Another wonderful flip book. My son enjoyed this one alot due to his Nana and Papa living on a dairy. He had fun naming the animals and making the animal sounds. I know he will love a physical copy of this one. The illustrations are really nice.
