I enjoyed this story immensely. It was intelligent and fresh, fast paced with a touch of myth and mystery. The characters were mostly well thought-out and rounded. I'm hoping that this is a series? There were a lot of loose ends here, so I'm giving it 4 stars for the potential to finish well, later. There were a few spots where the plot turned 180, without segue, that seemed either forced or overlooked... and why on earth do we not see Cami and Christian get together? This is what leaves me to believe there is more to the story. Will keep my eyes peeled for a continuation...

Camelia Garrett is on a walk with a friend. When her friend leaves her to retrieve her phone, Camelia wanders off to find a very small pond. A glint in the pond draws her into it, and she is hit by lightning. After it's over and she gets to leave the hospital, she starts noticing her senses are better. Chrisitan knows what's happening to Camelia: she's now a Seeker, someone who can use storms to be more powerful. Adding to the mix, he is drawn to her from the moment he senses her pain when she is struck by lightning. To keep an eye on her and to help her with her powers, he moves back to her town. After Camelia finds out what happened to her, Christian starts to train her to use her powers effectively. But forces are drawing closer and closer to Camelia to keep the two apart from the one she is destined to love.
It's hard to define the genre this book is in. It has a little romance, a little suspense, and a little mystery, but I do have to admit it was all around fun. I found the book engaging and hard to put down, and I liked it all the way through. It was more character-driven, so if that's your preference, you will find it in this. However, it doesn't lack in plot; it is unique and very interesting. Also, don't be afraid to have YA/teens read the book as I don't think the book has any objectionable content. One thing that did bother me a little was that the book did seem to lack a little bit of passion overall, and I don't mean that from a sexual standpoint. It's hard to explain what I mean by that, but it was just an overall feeling. That aside, however, I did enjoy it a great deal and I highly recommend this book. It is a great book!

This tale was wonderfully woven. When I first started it I thought I had fallen into a cheesy romance. Little did I know the adventure and intrigue I would find. Cani and Christian has stolen my heart. This book kept moving until the very end. Brilliantly done.

A very well written scifi book. It's a different take on soul mates for people with special powers. Seekers have the ability to control electricity and infact they need it to live. They absorb energy to refuel their bodies to give them extra abilities. They are described almost like super heroes. Their faster, stronger, live longer and have heightened senses but like any super hero, they have a weakness. Their energy can be taken away from by fellow seekers. They have good and bad among their kind just like any race. They are also only men except for when they are granted a mate called a Link. What I like about this story is their mates get the same abilities so they can work side by side. In this story, the seekers are unaware of what a Link is and as they learn with what they think as the first Link, is that she truly isn't the first and there is something going on behind the scenes. Great story, maturely written and open to a series but there is definately closure.
