I got this book from net gallery for an honest review. Wow I was completely blown away by this book because it was absolutely amazing and I was hooked from the moment I started right until the very end. Camilla, a college student, has difficulty trusting due to her ex, and therefore isn't interested in dating anyone. Cami and her friend go to a stream, her friend forgets her phone, so she goes back to the car whilst Cami follows a crow further down the steam. A mysterious lake appears in her view but she's never seen it before but something in the lake draws her attention. She goes into the lake, grabs the ring but as she was heading to the bank a bolt of lightening hits the lake and electricity goes right through her body. Before, succumbing to darkness she sees a glimpse of a person who has silver eyes and black hair. Christian is on a rescue mission with his friends: Alec and Lucien. Suddenly, Christian feels something that is unfamiliar and then a searing pain shoots through his chest. He closes his eyes and focuses and then realises he is experiencing her pain not his and she is reaching out to him. Before he opens his eyes he sees a glimpse of her auburn hair and green eyes. Christian has to find her and wastes no time. When Cami wakes up in hospital she sees a dark figure, she gets up but her head hurts but then she hears a voice saying she needs to rest. Cami thinks she's high on drugs or hallucinating but she couldn't be more wrong. Christian takes on the role to educate Cami about storm seekers, their history and his role in the organisation. The organisation undertakes rescue missions due to natural disasters and storm seekers undertake these rescues. However, there is another organisation called dissenters who use their powers for their own gain and follow no rules but their own and are loyal to no one. Christian teaches Cami how to use and control her abilities. This is a journey of a woman, who goes from being ordinary to someone with powerful gifts. She is now known as a storm seeker. For Christian, his special connection to Cami, is a new learning curve, which overwhelms him with the need to protect and care for Cami. Both have difficulties accepting, controlling their lynx and most importantly in Cami's case opening her heart. Her bond with Christian is truly unique because they are connected, and share intense attraction towards each other. Their lynx (bond) is more then a physical attraction, it's like a strong magnetic pull that keeps bringing them together. Christian's patience and control is tested on all levels because of their connection. Things don't go to plan when another woman recently turned storm seeker is kidnapped. This book has lots of twists and turns but it's full of action and adventure too. The narrative is innovative yet captivating and it takes you on an exciting journey. Their bond is intense, passionate, overwhelming and it's nice how they feel each other's emotions. This book was written really well, and you were given both Christian and Cami's point of view. This was a brilliant book to read and I'm not sure if it's a standalone but I hope it's not. I loved this book from start to finish and I was so disappointed when it ended. This author has delivered a fantastic book and I'm definitely adding her to my favourite author list. |

I enjoyed this story immensely. It was intelligent and fresh, fast paced with a touch of myth and mystery. The characters were mostly well thought-out and rounded. I'm hoping that this is a series? There were a lot of loose ends here, so I'm giving it 4 stars for the potential to finish well, later. There were a few spots where the plot turned 180, without segue, that seemed either forced or overlooked... and why on earth do we not see Cami and Christian get together? This is what leaves me to believe there is more to the story. Will keep my eyes peeled for a continuation... |

Camelia Garrett is on a walk with a friend. When her friend leaves her to retrieve her phone, Camelia wanders off to find a very small pond. A glint in the pond draws her into it, and she is hit by lightning. After it's over and she gets to leave the hospital, she starts noticing her senses are better. Chrisitan knows what's happening to Camelia: she's now a Seeker, someone who can use storms to be more powerful. Adding to the mix, he is drawn to her from the moment he senses her pain when she is struck by lightning. To keep an eye on her and to help her with her powers, he moves back to her town. After Camelia finds out what happened to her, Christian starts to train her to use her powers effectively. But forces are drawing closer and closer to Camelia to keep the two apart from the one she is destined to love. It's hard to define the genre this book is in. It has a little romance, a little suspense, and a little mystery, but I do have to admit it was all around fun. I found the book engaging and hard to put down, and I liked it all the way through. It was more character-driven, so if that's your preference, you will find it in this. However, it doesn't lack in plot; it is unique and very interesting. Also, don't be afraid to have YA/teens read the book as I don't think the book has any objectionable content. One thing that did bother me a little was that the book did seem to lack a little bit of passion overall, and I don't mean that from a sexual standpoint. It's hard to explain what I mean by that, but it was just an overall feeling. That aside, however, I did enjoy it a great deal and I highly recommend this book. It is a great book! Thanks to NetGalley and Desert Breeze Publishing/Smith Publicity for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review. This exact review posted on both Amazon and Goodreads. |

This tale was wonderfully woven. When I first started it I thought I had fallen into a cheesy romance. Little did I know the adventure and intrigue I would find. Cani and Christian has stolen my heart. This book kept moving until the very end. Brilliantly done. |

Loved this book! Cannot wait to see where the story goes for the main character and many of the others. (PLEASE do a series!!) I really enjoyed the depth of the characters and the mysterious nature of how wakelings are created. The layer of the twin brothers and how they each have some sort of connection to Cami was intriguing as well. Fantastic read! |

A very well written scifi book. It's a different take on soul mates for people with special powers. Seekers have the ability to control electricity and infact they need it to live. They absorb energy to refuel their bodies to give them extra abilities. They are described almost like super heroes. Their faster, stronger, live longer and have heightened senses but like any super hero, they have a weakness. Their energy can be taken away from by fellow seekers. They have good and bad among their kind just like any race. They are also only men except for when they are granted a mate called a Link. What I like about this story is their mates get the same abilities so they can work side by side. In this story, the seekers are unaware of what a Link is and as they learn with what they think as the first Link, is that she truly isn't the first and there is something going on behind the scenes. Great story, maturely written and open to a series but there is definately closure. |

Storm Crossed is a very well written paranormal romance about a young woman by the name of Cami. During an outing in the woods she finds herself inexplicably drawn to a strange pool of water that she had never noticed before. As she wades into the water to retrieve an item she sees sparkling at the bottom, a storm rolls in and lightning strikes the water before she can make it to the bank. After her accident, strange things begin to happen, especially whenever she becomes angry and her senses are painfully enhanced. To add more confusion to the situation, there is the mysterious stranger, Christian, who shows up claiming he knows what is going on with her and that he can help. She feels an intense draw to him and from the smoldering looks he sends Cami, it's apparent he feels it as well. But danger lurks in the shadows as others seem to be aware of Cami's condition and they wish to exploit her new abilities. Can she and Christian weather the storm lurking on the horizon? I would first like to state that I received this book free through NetGalley for an honest review. To be truthful, the first chapter had me wondering but once I got further into the novel, all the pieces fell into place and I was hooked. If it weren't for real life intruding, I would have read this through in one night. The writer has an excellent sense of adventure and suspense and I would be very interested in further works - hopefully in this series - as there are several characters I would love to see have their own novels. Take my advice, give this book a chance, it's electrifying! |
